I like this version. Two hands gives more dinamic for The performance. Bravo!

This piece is dedicated to Paul Wittgenstein. Bortkevich composed it specifically for this pianist. Saw this piece's original music sheet, this transcription has right to exist, especially since author's text is not touched at all, but it is modified very professionally for two hands. Bravo Vyacheslav Zubkov!!!

Why does it cut over abruptly to a different recording at 20:12? Who are the artists from there? It's clearly not the same event

Hello Seheyt. Since there was not a single uncut live video recording, we had to add the 3d part to the 1st and 2nd (videos). Footage consists of 2 recordings. Concert's part 1 and 2 were recorded with a video camera. And part 3 was recorded by the Radio Company of Ukraine 2 days after the live performance. All three parts have the same performers - Academic symphony orchestra "Philharmonia", Chernigiv, Ukraine Vyacheslav Zubkov-piano Mykola Sukach-conductor. If I have a chance, I will upload onto my channel the whole S. Bortkevich's Concert #2, transcribed by Vyacheslav Zubkov that was recorded by the Radio Company of Ukraine.

This concerto is not popular as Ravel's. I want to see an original performance of this concerto, not a transcription. :(

Yes, why the transcription??? The pianist is not good enough maybe? I hope the transcription did not change any notes. If I were the ghost of old Sergi I would be very upset about this.

I presume he's done this to it because there are long stretches where a one-handed pianist stands little chance of being heard over the orchestra. Also an audience's fascination with the theatre of a romantic virtuoso concerto - and the feeling of a heroic protagonist doing battle against outnumbering forces - doesn't really encompass the idea of a player who's at a disadvantage from the start. Zubkov has done a very professional job on this piece - but Bortkiewicz had little idea what to do with an expansive structure. The music stops and starts in the most meaningless fashion. Had it been written for two hands at the outset, I doubt it would be any more famous than it is.
