This guy is the hiddent gem of modern gypsy jazz for me. He has an amazing hybrid technique, the most incredible sense of time and really incredibly dare I say it mischievous phrasing and balance.

Giniaux is in my opinion one of the most interesting and underrated players in the genre of all time. Fascinating melodic ideas (was that a whole tone scale lick i've heard at 00:33 or am i wrong great lick), super interesting chords and FAST virtuose playing at the right moments. What more do you want, GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Listening Sebastian play in Moscow live at a gypsy guitar festival couple years back was one of the most rewarding musical experiences in my life. Thank you man!

This is fabulous and a great take on a very old song. He has such a cool modern interpretation. Love the chords he inserts between phrases.

Seb's right hand moves so lightly.. looks like he's barely brushing the strings while single-note picking..

Yea, he has a much softer attack than most gypsy players. Maybe it is because of the unusual angle of his flatpick. It is the George Benson angle mixed with the gypsy style lifted wrist. The best out of two worlds.

I have been trying to learn this great song by a great player.Close to two years now off and on and I know 80% of it now .Very hard to pick up by ear even some parts slowing it down to a crawl. I have been playing along time and have the flexibilty to do it now.I have found out the parts I know are not that hard to play its all in the speed and timing and picking, sweeping, rolls ,etc..To learn from the best like Sebastian Giniaux it takes huge amounts of patience to slow down line to line but it comes wonder who taught him anybody know? The French have alot of great players that hand down this style since the days of Django Reinhardt from generation to generation.I dont know of anyone here who teaches Gypsy Jazz to this level .Glenn P. in N.Y.

why are you learning an improvisation? Just learn theory and make one up yourself :)

You can't copy this guy. If you've been playing "along time"...maybe this style isn't for you.

Both of the comments above are ignorant. Even Stochelo Rosenberg himself, as well as countless other greats, started their journeys by learning solos note for note. That practise and dedication to precision will serve you well when crafting your own solos later, if you choose to do that. There's also nothing wrong with playing transcriptins note for note, it all helps to keep this lovely style alive. Play on and don't mind the detractors!
