those people using boards without heatsinks use the stock cooler cause that blows air across the board and vrms to keep them cooler. nerd on a buget he did a video vrm temps was 40 cel with stock cooler and 67 cel with aftermarket cooler.

Hi, both me and my brother own this motherboard. He with a ryzen 5600x and me with a ryzen 3600x. I've been using it since it launched in the summer of 2020 and it still works perfectly. It cant overclock or run ram speed faster than 3200 mhz, but for 4 and 6 core cpu's this motherboard is fine! P.s. make sure there are 2 stick of ram in the motherboard instead of 1, this greatly improves the performance of the entire pc!

I just bought this motherboard after looking at your review in 2024. paired it with a gigabyte a520m ds3h, ryzen 5500 stock cooler, gtx1060, 500gb kingston nv2 and 16gb 3200mhz ram... this thing is snappy! easily handles Aliens: fireteam elite at 90fps on medium settings 2x aa 1080p, fortnite is a breeze, warzone a stable 70fps... gave this PC to a friend who has 42" LED TV 1080 60hz as his desktop screen, and i gotta say, what a low budget quick PC! sure it's pcie 3.0, but he doesnt notice it. temps on idle - cpu 37c gpu 44c vrm 32c load- cpu 60c gpu 73c vrm 48c my friend is super happy, we can finally play games together without lag! was super cheap as well to build.

Is a good price pc Ryzen 5 5600 a520 s2h and 4060 ti 8gb for 600€? And it is a good component?

Hi George, I'm going to be building a Budget PC to a degree! And my question is, What "Motherboard" do I Buy for my below optioned specs? I'm going to be buying Ryzen 5 5600x also buying DDR4 Ram x2 8GB 3200MHz, ( I'm still wanting to be using my 600W PSU & my GTX 1060 6GB GPU + my 500GB SSD ), I have for the Windows 11 Installation. It will likely need a BIOS update, which is simple through q-flash with a USB Stick. No need for another Ryzen CPU for flashing the BIOS.

I'll go for the Gigabyte A520M S2H with Ryzen 5 4500 as my budget build

The fact that you guys don't realize this board has Q Flash Plus features and the reviewer doesn't even know Kills me. You DONT need ANYTHING to uodateyour board to 5000, just a flash drive and another pc to download the bios

Have you installed chipset drivers and applied ryzen power plan? Also check the temps in hwinfo. If in bios the frequency ok then probably software bug somewhere. Update bios and fresh install of Windows should help

I put a 3900x in a520m-sh2 the vrm gets to 102c max, but it seems to perform just a tiny bit under average score. I Don't really care as long as it works. lol

I personally use a Ryzen 5 5600 and a 6650 XT on a A520M S2H, and temps seem pretty well Just make sure you have proper cooling and a good enough PSU and you should be fine

It’s really DAW latency on windows. Windows itself is just 1 ms. Check if your preferred daw and audio interface is updated to work well on AMD system. It was a mess couple of years ago. All my audio related stuff is on mac.

I'd stick some small heatsinks on those hot VRMs, use thin layer of plain old silicone.

they should include some old ryzen 3 chip with every 5600x, i got one last week with a brand new board from Amazon and the board said on the box it was "5000 series ready" yet it needs a bios update to run the 5600x. So i go to this local pc shop and the only boards the guy has are super cheap ones, he tells me the one I get from him will run the chip, get home and put the chip on the 2nd board and the same issue, I google it and sure enough it won't work without a bios update.

The button on the back IO of the a520m is a Q Flash Plus button. Look it up, it means you can update your bios with nothing but the mother board, a PSU, and the bios on a flash drive downloaded from any other PC.

My brother does that and it's fine. I'm running the same mobo with a 3600x, also works fine. Can't overclock though and max ram speed is 3200 mhz and max ram slots is 2 instead of 4. (Instead of adding another 2x8 gb ram you have to buy 2x16 gb ram)

@@raz6182 yes, the ram runs in dual channel. As for the audio, all budget boards have the same audio encoder, if you want to get the the better audio you'll need atleast a b550m pro which are 2-4 times more expensive than the A520MH. For slightly better audio and a bunch of stuff you'll probably hardly ever use. Many people tend to overspend on motherboards, dont be one of those people, spend the money you save on your gpu or CPU because that will give you actual performance gains! (Also ive never had any issues with 'bad' audio and if I would I'd just buy a 10 dollar external sound card and still have a better deal than spending 120 bucks extra on a mobo)

I was contemplating whether I should get this board bcs this was one of the boards that have inbuilt Wi-Fi which I prefer and it was really cheap at $119 and the next best option was a msi b550m board which costed around $200. Also is 3200 mhz ram good with the board, I've heard that the vrms maybe wouldn't Be able to handle it (it was a review on Amazon where I was gonna buy it).
