Like, with how incredibly humble and serene Ryu is, now I actually believe he: #1 - Likes jumping into a light > fierce because it's a simple but centerpiece technique that teaches spacing and combos, and gives him fond memories of his fundamental beginnings in training that he now loves to share with anyone looking for good tips to start their path in martial arts. #2 - Likes stale bread because you can make many genuinely great recipes with it. A good reminder that no matter how negative your self-image is, you can also be great. #3 - Likes water without any ice because it's effortless, natural, pure, while also formless and adaptable. Be like water. #4 - The newest season of The Simpsons because his life of training and meditation leaves him with little time for distractions or leisure, and he can only occasionally catch an episode of the most rudimentary entertainment, but he knows it's healthy for mind, body and spirit to take breaks and have fun. #4 - Likes dirt because it's the body of the home we live in, and must take good care of. A reminder to keep your mind and heart humble and grounded, because from there you can grow strong like a tree.
