Interesting discussion between you two ;-) I'm German and I would have preferred to see Ryk's song at the ESC. Now it's ISAAK, to whom I of course wish good luck.

Really interesting and you get why we got the results we got. I was quite disappointed that Ryk was very passive, closed eyes no at least one or two bigger moments of interaction with the camera duringthe song. In that case Bodine or Isaak were more active, you got they are enjoying the moment, it was hard to feel sympathy for Ryk kind of. That was my biggest fear as we had the 2018 performance with the same problem but behind the piano with a dancer it wasn't that obvious and there was no video release of his live performance only snippets where his eyes were open. It's still my favourite as it had a full concept of lights backdrop Malmö ready and the camera interaction could have been easy fixed till Malmö. Isaak has to start from scratch kind of and the song isn't working for ESC that good as similar songs showed.

@@bethspring4755 Ryk's song had a certain melancholy about it, just like a Portuguese Fado has. With Duncan Laurence that worked in 2019, but that was before the pandemic, before the war in Ukraine. Maybe 2024 is just the wrong time and people need more positivity.

@@nettcologne9186 Very good point! So you go for something more uptempo, goodfeel song that sounds familiar and that talented sympathic nextdoor guy. Now it makes sense to me!

I think I understand what you mean with Ryk something was missing great song but Isaak won over people Boden was good ☮️❤️
