you are making really helpfull videos about the job. Maybe you could do a video about the roles of cabin crew on the aircraft. What are the responsibilities, duties of each specific cabin crew. I would be curious.

Thankyou! I am not sure about that these days, but I think now, you can put a 'preferred base' option. When I became a cabin crew however, I could not choose my base.

Hey again, I inboxed you not long ago on Facebook, gone over your video again... I already went over the pimple problem but also with grooming checks, what about if you wear acrylic nails? If I was to remove them my nails look pretty awful until they grow back so I tend to just get my nails redone... With lockdown though my nails are fine and back healthy but if I was to do the training course, would it be best to leave my nails how they are now. Sorry for all these questions I just would like to get things spot on :)

When it comes to nails, it's really up to you. I started off with my natural nails (just painting them every day), but that was too time consuming, so I switched to going to the nail salon every 3 weeks for gel nails. They saved me time.

Do you know if they can provide you with long-sleeved shirts or they won't accept it at all?

Hey Tom, sorry for the late reply. Glad you found the video useful. Ryanair does provide long sleeve shirts to cover up tattoos :)

It's defo got better then...I worked there in 2010 and had to pay 400£ and pay for all uniform and was a no minimum hours contract ....managed to last a year

Wow, things were tough back then!! I joined just as they introduced the new free training offer. I salute you for being able to last 1 year under those conditions. Sounds like an impossible situation. But I can understand people wanting to take the offer because for many, becoming a cabin crew is a dream - even if it costs you more than you actually gain!

16:00 About that... I applied via crewlink, I went through the recruitment process (including online job interview and English test). And they send me an e-mail that I got the job but the last thing which I need to do is to send them a photo of my passport by their crewlink e-mail. I did that but I have blurred my signature. They called me that they can't take this photo and I need to send them one without blurring if I want to get the job. Is it normal that they want a photo of my passport my an e-mail, especially if I can't blur anything?

Hello. I have got one question. I applyied for Ryanair and they sent me an email to choose which is my preferred training course. I registered in a link to confirm the base and the date. I would like to change the base I told them. They haven’t sent me yet the confirmation email. Should I ask them to change the training course date??

Honestly, I don't remember doing reach test with Ryanair. They are a bit more flexible with heights than other airlines. 5'2" - 6'2".

Hi I love your videos. I just wanted to ask are you allowed to use your mobile as a cabin crew while you are on the ground? What would you pack and take with you on flights on a daily basis?

You can use your phone but never allow passengers to see you. Some cabin supervisors are weird about it too, but they will just tell you to your face if they are. You should be given a list of what to take with you with the pre-course study pack. I hope that helps.

Hi Tabitha! Thank you for these videos! I have been contacted to attend an open recruitment day and I´m struggling with theresidence permit, as I´m residing in Denmark (I hold a residence & work permit in Denmark valid until 2028) as accompanying family member to a European citizen, but my passport does not belong to the European Union (I´m Argentinian). They´re recruiting people to train them in Italy but work in Copenhagen base. Do you think I´m still suitable? Aditionally, do you have any idea how much they pay per month when you start working after the training course (and you don´t have any previous experience as a flight attendant)? Hey Kristina, you usually fly back straight away. Within 25 minutes in most cases, unless you get a slot, which means you are delayed by an hour or so.

Considering the situation in the world no... but we have no idea when it will be over.... on the other hand, there aren't that many people travelling at the moment so your schedule might not be that full. Passengers will also be very few.

I'm good thanks! I lived with it for the time I was a flight attendant. Couldn't save very much because I was also doing my completing my driving licence in the UK. Experience at my base was ok. My contract was 18 months. Maybe it is different these days. Usually one can sign a new contact after the first one ends.

Yes, I think so, as long as you put it in a donut but. I heard that they now accept braids for black female flight attendants. If you are unsure, then you could ask them directly.

Yes, it was relatively easy. You just need to request it and you get it as long as you have enough days. If you do not request it, they will just give the days to you.

​@@hollypotter8737 Based on your timeline you might be able to do it. But you need to request holiday days from the 1st day at your base. With that said the best people to confirm this with is the employer. Hope you can make it work 😊

Hey lorena, I think that is a good sign. Your contract will be with Crewlink. Then maybe after a year or two you can get a Ryanair contract.

You always go back to your base unless you are sent to a operate a flight from another country or 'stuck' abroad for whatever reason.

No you do not need to bring your laptop, but it could help. It helped me because I was able to reference/search the pdf study document they gave us. They pretty much give you all the study material you need. Just make sure you have notepads and pens.

If you really want it, you should go for it. You will definitely have some challenges but that's why you really need to want it to make it work - especially because it's a big move all the way from the US with your son. What is your reason for choosing Iceland? I'm sure you have already thought of this but you will face challenges like culture shock/differences, the weather, food differences, making friends, finding job opportunities available to foreigners - especially those who do not speak Icelandic and many more. I can definitely work but you really have to figure out if it is for you.

I am really curious about the culture, and I am sure there are not alot of people of color there. I also do not want to put my son in a bad situation you know with school and all. Depends on how long it takes for you to get to the training centre. If the distance is too much, you might find it hard showing up every day.

Hi Holly, you could do whatever suits you best. Either relocate to the base or stay in accommodation the day before you're rostered. It's probably best to just rent somewhere close to your base, since it's a full time job.

They are always recruiting. I'm not sure of the details so it's up to you to make that decision based on the information they are giving you. I think there have been a few changes that I am not really up to speed on because I no longer work there so I can't really say. If you really want to avoid being exposed to covid the obvious answer would be no, but then again if you are out and if you are out and about already it, doesn't really make much of a difference to start flying.

After these, they will read you some sentences and they’re gonna ask you some questions just to see your English comprehension. No need to be stressed, just put a smile on and everything will be fine!

Hi Tabitha, i had my online interview last week, it was very well and shorter than other interviews that i had in the past. The recrutor telled me that in his opinion it was okay and to wait for a response. Buut, the problem is that i don t have a passport yet and I telled him on the intvw. I have a very good reason for saying that. I usually do not mind second hand at all but when I went to that particular charity shop in Germany the quality of the 2 things I picked up was really really terrible. I cannot even begin to explain in writing, but that changed my mind about certain second hand things. And I myself have shopped at Owino Market before. You can find great things! I just had a bad experience in that German shop. When I got back to London (after flight attending) I bought 2 sweaters from a charity shop and to this day, I still use one of them. But I was very careful with selecting.

Per diem is paid while on the training course. It is to help you with some of your expenses such as food.

How would that work?? What about the swimming test? Hmm. That's going to be challenging because you will have nobody to study with. That really helps. Anyway, I guess anything is possible. It's really up to you if you want to go through it.

@@gabychavrimootoo1968 It is very surprising. I think it's going to be difficult because there is so much information to absorb. 9 - 6pm, 5 days a week. You have to think about this carefully. Then again, I could be wrong and perhaps some people will learn better online. Look at all the information they have provided and decide. Have they given you a base yet?

How much is the accommodation? And how much do you have to have for a minimum before you go ?

It was 700 euros for the accommodation I had. I think a doable minimum to have is 1500 euros/pounds.

@@adesuwadewit5467 actually its more on the low end of things. 1000 for accomodtion at base, 1 month deposit, 1 month rent. 300 for upkeep during the training course. 200 for 1 month transport and food.

No, they send you where there is a vacancy. But you need to read the job description for details. Things have changed recently because of Brexit, so maybe that could be the case.

What if Ryanair is coming somewhere for the first time ever? They are coming to Croatia this summer, does this mean that my base will be Zagreb? They need people here right? Or not? I think it worths only in case that my base is in Zagreb (where I live actually). Thank you 😉😊

No, it doesn't mean that. Your base is more random than that. It's not chosen according to your needs or desire.

If you get accepted at Lauda it is possible bc they only have 4 bases right now and 2 of them are in Croatia.

I mean, you can apply and if you pass all the steps and they offer a Lauda training to you, you may get to get base in Croatia. If they offer you a Ryanair training just ask if they can change you to Lauda but I don't know if that's possible...

But as Tabitha said, you could have another base at the end such as Mallorca or Vienna, so you have to consider if it's still worth it for you or not.

They didn't give me a transfer to London so I moved on.

I think you need to make sure you cover it up with tattoo makeup so that it isn't visible. However, check the latest rules as they may have changed.

How are you employed? In the uk and based in europe and you get paid in euros ? How does ot work ?

In Europe you are employed in Ireland and get paid in Euros (thus you need to set up an Irish bank account, but if that fails for some reason they can pay you into your Euro account). In the UK you are paid in pounds and need to have a UK bank account. You need to pay social security/national insurance in the country you live in. Things might have changed slightly with Brexit but that is how things were when I worked there.

You mean the 'crewcode'? it's some of your surname some of your first name put together.
