Yes he was. Retire the #15 Jersey Arkansas.
As a Bama fan, I was in total disbelief of hearing of Ryan's passing, what a great guy and a great QB in the SEC and remember going to the Arkansas vs Bama games and i was always a nervous wreck of how great a player he was and how back and forth our games were. My condolences to the Mallet family and the Hogs fan base. This is truly hearbreakening 🙏
As a long life LSU fan, my condolences to his loved ones and the Arkansas fan base, . 🙏🏾

Some of the best games in the matchup were played when Ryan was our starting quarterback. My all time favorite AR-LSU games were 2009 and 2010.

RIP Ryan Mallet and Geaux Tigers.
Was never really a college football fan until a friend invited me to watch the first game of the 2008 season at War Memorial. Ryan Mallett was in his first start as a Razorback. I was fascinated by his physical stature, his professional style of quarterback play, and his absolute CANNON of an arm. I’ve been a die-hard Hog fan ever since. RIP Ryan, condolences to his friends and family. Thank you for the memories and the joy of watching you play the game.
RIP Ryan. From Clemson to Arkansas we offer our sincere sympathies and we will keep the mallet family and Arkansas family in our prayers !
We'll miss you Ryan! This guy was a big part of my Middle school years. Much love and Rest in Paradise #15
As a South Carolina fan. Absolutely adored watching you play. Rest in Peace big man.
I remember Ryan Mallett from his playing days at the University of Michigan. He played for Michigan before transferring to Arkansas. Mallet had tremendous arm strength and accuracy.
As an Auburn fan, Loved watching Ryan Mallet play one of the best arms in football ever his game was electrifying Rest in Peace big man🙏🏼

Wow I’m wvu fan forgot how good this guy was you don’t see throws like he made anymore across the field omg howlitzer rip 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Mallet and his HOGS entertain RAZORBACK NATION so much. 🙏🕊️♥️ to the Mallet family to White Hall Nation. We fans were very fortunate to see to have him here in Arkansas. Retire #15 Arkansas Razorback
One of the most amazing things, to me, about the Petrino era and Mallett was the incredible protection he got. I don't think I have ever seen a quarterback get that level of protection. Ryan Mallot had a huge pocket and plenty of time almost every throw.

Part of that is nobody wanted one-on-one with that group of receivers and Mallett. Blitzing this crew with the constant underneath routes was a very risky proposition.
Best arm ever. RIP RM and thanks for the good years and great memories.
Wow put this up two weeks ago. I still can't believe it. Love you #15. You made arkansas a very proud program 🙏🏾
I remember when Ryan transferred to Arkansas and I heard his name for the first time...I knew he'd be a force! He led such an exciting group of Hogs, me and my friends had such great cafeteria sports talks in junior high/high school discussing the outing he and the Razorbacks had the weekends prior. RIP Ryan, gone too soon. We miss you so much already 💔
It’s so crazy that you posted this so recently. Mallet is a Razorback Legend thanks for memorializing these memories!
Crazy how you made this just a couple weeks before his death 🤯😱 but I’m thankful it’s here RIP to a CFB legend
Man it was fun to be a Hog fan during his time at AR with that receiving core. That receiving core was absolutely elite.

Rip to you Ryan Mallet from a Tennessee Volunteer.
RIP to Ryan he’s from my home of texarkana a legend in our town and a legendary Razorback so many good memories when I was younger watching him play.💔
I took my son to his first game when we played LSU. I can still see him throwing the fade in the corner of the end zone on 4th down. R.I.P Ryan. We'll never forget you.
crazy that how great that team was they were third or fourth in the sec And in any other conference they probably win it out right

If it were the SEC of just before the late 2000s, we would be the kings of the SEC.
That hiding the ball behind his back then TD throw is one of those plays you never forget RIP 🕊️
Wow. What an arm. Hard to imagine why he didn't make it in the pros. But he is a legend that will live in the hearts of Hog fans forever. RIP and prayers for his family and friends.
Guy shouldve been a 10X Pro Bowler .... RIP Ryan.....you will always be in the hearts of Razorback Nation...and you truly are the greatest to ever play the position on The Hill....WPS #15🐗🏈🐗
Greg Childs, Jarius Wright, Cobi Hamilton, Joe Adams, London Crawford, DJ Williams, Chris Gragg man our WR/TE core was second to none back then. Glad we all appreciated this group while they were here.

God bless you Ryan take it easy in heaven 🙏 ❤
R.I.P. Ryan. We will miss ❤ you. 💐💐💐💐
My Condolences To The Mallett Family ❤😔 R.I.P Ryan Mallett Arkansas Razorbacks 🏈 #Legend 💯
The throw on the post to Joe Adams on the first play of the sugar bowl. If only he held on. So much zip on the ball. Like an outfielder throwing to home plate.

@@homersimpsonsfatguyhat9541 Had those Ohio St. players stayed suspended and if our receivers didn't have butter fingers, we would've won that game.
Thanks Ryan for all the great memories! But I would also like to thank all the previous commenters. I will always be a Razorback fan. But I have admired many players from other teams within the SEC. We may be foes on any given Saturday... But in all we are family. That's what makes our conference the best! "It just means more!".
Dude could throw darts all over the field man o man I miss watching that guy.

Yeah. He could coach, but he's really a pos.
Watching these RM highlights, brought me back to those exciting times we had with Mallet and those great corps of receivers we had. Joe Adams and Greg Child’s, Colby Hamilton etc. Reminds me of another QB in SWC times - Joe Ferguson. Both had cannons. Chuck Dicus said of Ferguson - playing catch with a .22. Ryan could make throws off his back foot across the field. Incredible arm strength. Really miss you. RIP Sir, RIP.
Rip and my prayers are going to everyone who was close to him.
R.I.P.
Always remembered him for being a gunslinger at QB. RIP Brother🙏🏾
I got to meet him 10 yrs ago during the Spring Game! I was outside the stadium and I ran into him. I had my picture made with him after I asked someone if that was indeed Mallett. Later that night, I went to my first ever game at Baum (I still have the ticket stub btw)! As a Patriots fan, I was excited when the Patriots drafted him. I love the GOAT, but a part of me wishes Mallett could've gotten more playing time in Foxboro. Even though he was traded during training camp in 2014, I kinda wish Mallett was allowed to get a Super Bowl ring.
7:08 sickest throw of his Hog career. Unreal.

I was shocked by the news. Rest in peace to Ryan Mallett. He was a great player.

One of the best Qbs Ark had !!! He could sling that ball...
He should've had a bcs crystal football!🏆😢
RIP. What a cannon
How many times did we hear "Mallet complete to Jarius Wright" through 09-10? I would love to see that stat. Warmachine with the best tribute to one of the best to ever do it in Fayetteville. WPS RIP
I was heart broken hearing he passed. RIP Ryan.
Could throw the ball 60 mph and could fling it 70 yards from his knees. Miss that guy
As a Razorback/Patriot fan this death hit me hard last night!!!
R.I.P to Ryan Mallet. FEAR the MALLET!!
The John Daly of Arkansas Football. Had the talent to be one of the best in the Pro's, just didn't have good decision making off the field.

As a Patriots fan and Hog fan, it was somewhat disappointing he didn't get to be on the field much when he was in Foxboro. One of the few negatives regarding the GOAT being in Foxboro for so long.
R.I.P Ryan Gone not Forgotten Legend 😭1️⃣5️⃣🐗🏈🕊️
R.I.P. to a Baltimore legend.
RIP Legend
RIP TO THE LEGEND
RIP Ryan Mallett he will be missed🕊️
RIP #15. You'll be missed.
Rip to one of the greatest qb to to play for Arkansas
It's a pity he didn't have more success, he had the arm and the raw talent. And thank you to WARMACHINE2013 for uploading.
RIP 15. You'll be missed.
The original AR15. Forever a Hog. RIP.
RIP crazy this was posted two weeks ago
Rest in peace Ryan Mallett
Rest in peace Ryan.
We needed a better defense to back up that offense.
LL 15 🕊️
Best play action hand movement tuck and keep roll out by the best. Mallett #15
What's puzzling to me is that every single WR shown in these clips didn't make it big in the NFL. I still think Childs could've had the most success, given his speed and size. But, alas, he blew out that knee in camp.
Damn we used to be so good with mallet all time favorite hog
Eerie you uploaded this of him from just two weeks ago and all of a sudden, he gets taken from us. I’ve been watching clips to this day of these hard NFL hits and one of them I watch is when Joe Flacco got struck even though he was sliding by Kiki Alonso. In the sidelines, they show Ryan Mallett warming up. Next time I read of him is his tragic passing and me like what. Reminds me of tragic deaths in sports like Owen Hart, Eddie Guerrero, Brodie Lee, and more. Each in their 30s’ only. R.I.P. Ryan Mallett.😢
Glad they didn't show the 5 or 6 wide open drops by the Hog receivers in the Ohio State game. Would have smoked them. RIP Big Hog and Godspeed!
He'd have all the records if he'd played four years. Ark football hasn't been that good or that entertaining to watch since.
Rip Ryan Mallet 😢
Man could we use a Greg Childs this year.
RIP RYAN MALLETT
RIP Ryan Mallett
RIP Ryan!!
RIP Ryan 🙏🏽
May he Rest In Peace 🕊
I wish Childs wouldn’t have gotten hurt…he could’ve easily been a first round pick
It's just too terrible to be true. Watching this video I realized I had forgotten just how awesome Ryan was.
