Well, Ryan Gosling isn’t all that physically attractive-it’s all in his personality, charisma, and the general “energy” he puts off. Super hot guys with rotten personalities won’t get a tenth as far as an average (or even below average) guy who is confident, easy to be around, genuine, and knows how to put a woman at ease (and dressing well goes MILES because so many men don’t give two shits about how they look or think that getting a nice hair cut and putting thought into an outfit somehow makes them gay). Looks, that we get through workout and diet (a low body fat percentage doesn’t just give you visible abs a more attractive face as well), a very fat income that you get by taking some risks and working really hard and game which you get automatically better at once you have the other two in place because they affect your image in eyes of women and naturally boost your confidence

Funny how in La La Land I think Goslings character, or maybe someone else idk, suggests that Mia/Emma should instead become a lawyer. Here, she IS a lawyer. In La La Land Gosling was single up until Mia/Emma yet here he's a damn player. This seems so stupid but the seed is planted. Now she won't be able to stop thinking about him. Ryan plays this on expert mode

I find it amazing with Ryan and Emma on how much good chemistry they have working together in three movies. Gangster Squad Crazy Stupid Love And of course Lala Land.

I think the most important thing here is that Ryan's character doesn't give up. And he tries every angle to try to get Emma Stone. He starts by being confident and dashing and being a crowd pleaser by complimenting Emma and friend. Then he moves to being cute by pretending to be at a trial. Then he tries to reason with her that they are both young and that she should take a chance. When that doesn't work and she decides to leave, he reverts back to cocky by saying "That's forward of you." And even when she leaves, he's got the "I've still got this" smile on his face hahaha.

he succeeds because he never lowers his value. hannah is a prize he knows he has to earn, as any beautiful woman like hannah also puts a high value on herself. therefore, he persists in the hopes of wooing her, and in turn employs a lot of honesty in the making. this is what actually makes him a much more honorable character by the end of the movie.

If someone was willing to take that sort of rejection and it only made them want the person more, they're either masochistic delusional or both. The right thing for Ryan's character to do in that situation given Emma's behavior would be to never talk to her again. She was clearly not interested.

And yeah that’s fine. You don’t try this with someone as attractive as Emma Stone if you’re not as handsome as Ryan Gosling or at least as charming as he’s written here. Or if you do try it you back off once you can tell that it isn’t being received well. The only time he steps over the line here is once she says it’s time to leave and he still keeps after her. But most women and most people are at least somewhat reasonable and wouldn’t overreact like you’re suggesting unless you’re making very obviously unwanted and repeated advances

No that’s not it at all. Sometimes people are scared to try new things, and make excuses or hide behind walls. She had this perfect image of her life all planned out, but when it didn’t start turning out like how she wanted, she took a chance and ended up with something even better. She didn’t end up settling at all, she ended up happier than she could ever be, and she was settling with the guy with “class” and lived a much happier life because she took a chance.
