    Not a good argument at all. Hakeem only won after Jordan was retired. The year The Magic beat the Bulls was when Jordan came out of retirement and didn’t even play half the season. Phil Jackson is considered the greatest coach BECAUSE Of his success with the Bulls. He had never been a head coach before that. The system stuff is silly. Every team has a system. Real basketball fans know this was weak.

    I'm sorry. What? What shot? You mean from a weak argument. Against an even weaker lawyer. Any lawyer worth his salt would have pulled up all the lebron teammates that he needed to win only 4 rings. This dude has played with 3 top 75 players of all time on 1 team. And yet he could only win 2 out of the 4 years he was there. What does Lebron and Jordan have in common, neither won without a supporting cast. Yea, lebron made it further, but he didn't win. Kobe is the only player to ever lead a team to back to back championships without a top 75 all time teammate. That's a stronger argument than that trash I just heard.

    Rarely did the Chicago Bulls experience moments of heroic comebacks in the 90s without the presence of Michael Jordan. However, Game 6 of the 1992 NBA Finals stood as a unique exception, as "His Airness" found himself on the bench with the rest of the team leading the rally. This unusual turn of events occurred because assistant coach Tex Winter persuaded head coach Phil Jackson to bench MJ, as Scottie Pippen revealed in his book 'Unguarded.' Winter was tired of MJ's selfishness Although the Bulls led the series 3-2, their performance in the first three quarters of Game 6 didn't reflect their dominance. After falling behind by 15 points to begin the fourth quarter, Portland forcing a Game 7 seemed like a likely scenario. However, that's when Bulls' assistant coach Winter took matters into his own hands and approached the 'Zen Master' to bench Jordan, who was trying to orchestrate the comeback by himself. Michael, meanwhile, was trying to do too much," Pippen wrote. "And it was backfiring. 'You have to get him out of there,' Tex Winter, one of our assistant coaches, pleaded to Phil, 'He's holding the ball too long, destroying the action.'" With Mike on the bench, the Bulls started the fourth quarter with a 14-2 run. He rejoined the action when his team trailed 81-78, eventually clinching a 97-93 victory after the Bulls outscored the Portland Trail Blazers 33-14 in the last 12 minutes. Where was this in The Last Dance? Despite the 14-time All-Star scoring a game-high 33 points and Pippen contributing 26, 'The Last Dance' only delved into the details of Game 5 of the series. On the other hand, the documentary barely covered the crucial moments of Game 6. Pippen, who pointed out that Jordan had editorial control over the project, said the project should've included more clips from that game. However, the Hall of Famers understands why that wasn't the case. "It wouldn't have enhanced Michael's legacy to show his 'supporting cast' being the difference in a game of such magnitude," Pippen added. "The Bulls would likely have lost that game if Phil had put Michael back in earlier in the fourth quarter. Tex was right." Pippen, along with other former MJ teammates, felt slighted that the documentary focused solely on Jordan and his most iconic moments during their all-time great eight-year run. That's why the Hall of Famer, together with Horace Grant and Luc Longley decided to share their version of events and give fans a different perspective on the Bulls dynasty.

    His argument is without context...Orlando beat the Bulls and Jordan played 17 regular season games that year, that was his comeback/45 season and if you watched that series, Mike wasn't the same Mike without a full NBA season. What did they do to the Orlando Magic in '96? Also, Dennis Rodman was 34 years old when he came to the Bulls in '96 and had just got absolutely cooked by Hakeem in '95, Hakeem made him & David Robinson look like they weren't even on the court, so there was no sure thing that he would be the Dennis Rodman in hindsight that he was. Also, Steve Kerr averaged less than TWO 3 point shots per game in his career, Paxson....averaged 1 3 point shot per game. It's not hard to have a high percentage if you only take the shot a few times. LOL, this sounds really good without any type of context. This is all hindsight being 20/20.

  • @herbertpindar3565

    @herbertpindar3565

    @goatcasthoops Exactly. He's ignoring the fact that they're playing during the age of centers and power forwards. Ewing, Olajuwon, McHale, Parish, Robinson, Shaq, Smits, Malone, Barkley, Mourning, LJ, CWebb, I could keep going on. Needless to say, nobody even wins championships without defense and it will ALWAYS be true that you need to defend well close to the rim. Rebounding is a given also. There aren't too many poor rebounding teams winning 4 rounds of playoff basketball. Here's a statistic for you: Jordan played in 6 of the top 10 most watched NBA games of all time, including 4 of the top 5. And this is with, Dennis Rodman, as the second biggest draw. The global population in 1999 was ~6 billion. Contrast that to todays superstar-fueled NBA Finals of LeBron, Curry, Kyrie, Klay, etc and they still can't draw as many eyeballs even though there are over 1.5 billion more people in the world. And I know some would argue that there are more entertainment offerings now than then but there is little debate that MJ was THE draw. You can have pundits say all they want about who is the greatest, but the evidence from the masses is abundantly clear. People historically stop what they're doing and tune in to greatness (Ali, Woods, Brady, etc) and that's why no one will bring this particular stat up. The ratings only pile on. They demonstrate that it wasn't as though someone else was greater in basketball, but that to the masses, nothing else was better in television period.

  • @herbertpindar3565

    @herbertpindar3565

    3 ай бұрын

    He also leaves out the fact that although MJ had Paxson and Kerr (let's not forget Craig Hodges and BJ Armstrong) LeBron had Ray Allen, Mike Miller, etc. But what is more important is that when you look into these numbers, you see that Hodges averaged 2 3-point attempts per game for his career. Paxson averaged 1 attempt. Kerr? 1.8, though it did tick higher during his time with the Bulls to a high of 2.9 attempts. He doesn't provide context as some would think that the league was jacking up threes at the rate then as now. It's not even close. This is how rare the 3-ball was in the Jordan years: Jordan made more 3's in the 92 NBA Finals than the entire Trailblazer team, 12-10. Each team shot fewer than 11 per game. So the 3point percentage argument loses much of its strength when you realize that nobody was shooting many back then.

Cbosh 20/game, kyrie 23pts/game, klove 16 pts 10 reb and AD 24pts and 10 reb. Plus he also had ray allen, dwight howard, rajon rondo, russel westbrooke, carmelo anthony. All past their prime but still a hall of fame who still give significant contributions. So i dont get why use " jordan didnt win without pippen" argument against him while lebron not only cant win without a stack superteam around him. But he also underachieve going 4 wins - 6 loss in the finals. Jordan best teamates was pippen had a career 16pts/game. a great defensive and all around player but not a great scorer.

    @rysrys2977 you lost me, and contradicted yourself when you had a moment of enlightenment. You yourself said all those players were past their prime. He dragged the Heat teams to the finals with DWade and Bosh constantly out of the lineup. He dragged the cavs to the finals with Big Z and pretty much nobody else on his team. When he went back to the finals with the cavs he lost Love and Kyrie. Then when they overcame and beat Golden state with a full squad they added Kevin Durant. Jordan never had to deal with any of that. His teammates were always there for him and didn't let him down and they didn't stack a team so much that everyone knew regular season was a formality. Oh sorry the migraine game Scottie didn't play well in did Mike pull it out....? No they lost. Scottieand those Bulls were the real deal MJ was just the best player on a great team

    @@Mr.Chris_Tee2015 read again. Past their prime i was referring to ray allen dhoward, wrestbrook, melo and rondo not their franchise player level self but they still give significant contribution. But lbj had prime dwade, cbosh, kyrie, klove and AD. 2011 to 2014 lebron didnt drag wade and bosh they still playing at least all star level. Btw 2011 happened no excuse lebron choked. Yes lebron reach finals with Big Z but check who he got to beat in the estern conference? The detroit piston he beat was without ben wallace and cris brown. Ok i him give a pass 2015 klove nd kyrie injured also 2018 no kyrie. But 2016 and 2017 no excuse. Lebron had all the talent he needs to not go 4 -6 in the finals. Lebron simply cant win without stack superteam. Not only he cant win stack teams he always underachieve. Migraine game? Yes mj loss. But you forgot 1998 finals game 6. Pippen was limited with injured back and mj carried his team to a 6th rings scoring 45. People like you always say that mj finals competition was weak compare to Lebron. But i counter thats because mj best competition was on the east. Compare to the east conf that mj had to go through lebrons road to finals was a joke. Mj had to deal with markprice larry nance cavs, ewing knicks, reggies indiana, badboys pistons, lonzo heat, mutombo hawks and shaqs orlando. Also this is why mj is goat and not lbj. Lebron advantage is his physical attributes but mj had better elite basketball skills. Take away lebron size speed and strengh and anything he does can be done by average nba players coz his skills is mediocre. While mj take away his athleticism he still was elite shooter, low post players and still elite basketball skills.
