10 years later and I still can't get enough of the sound
Damn this thing sounds amazing.
dear god this car sounds GLORIOUS.....
Having to control a car with a sudden boost came in is not easy especially when you need to keep it within a very narrow power band. That guy in a V8 just got that linear torque advantage.
This is the best sounding car I've ever heard.
I clicked on this, closed the curtains and shut the door... LOL!!! seriously though , amazing build, the suspension in the back topped it off!!
Such a beautiful sound, U have a nice office :P
Awesome, rotary, 20B, turbo, sequential gearbox, race track, love the audio!
THAT SOUND!!!!!!!!!!
Just amazing... Wish my Rx7 was that dialed in!

do you have an extra 30k lying around? lol
did you feel like it's 1991 and you are at lemans with that sexy scream?
Completely different power /weight/traction and corner speed makes for interesting racing .🤔 if only v8 Supercars or formula 1 could of kept this type of diversity . 👍

awsome car very fast indeed. The NA v8s have the punch out of the corners but once the turbo on this car is on boost shes flying respect to all drivers and there monsters
Long live the mighty 20B rotary
also, WOOOOW look at that flame at 4:43
Really like everything about this car the sound the speed and the camera facing the rear suspension is really neat.
enjoy the speed and sound...
LOVED THAT , BEST IVE SEEN AND HEARD FOR A WHILE ..
I bet those corvettes are like shut the f*** up when he tells them his cars 2.0l lol

+James Furnival 2.0 on 1 side with 3 sides all performing 1 of the 4 cycles. It's basically a 6.0 litre engine.

Oderus Urungus, that is why I like rotary cars. it is like having a 6 litre v8, that sounds like a ferrari v12 at lemans, that accelerates like nothing else out there. Who cares about mpg. It's sexy.

Thing is so tight. Turn 1 and hayshed you are losing a heap of ground. Hello Bruce. Lee
sounded very nice
That sound!
tube frame? i like the suspension :)
awesome race, does anyone know what the green car in the lead is? other than it being fast I like the look.
Very impressive dude, car is fast as fuucckk!
The v8 cars just about killed this thing
It accelerates as though its been fired out a gun...what a sound....!!!
awesome car & driving. just 1 more rotar and you'll eat them all up 🙌🏼
hi mate, what is that little black car in front of you & what motor..thing goes hard but nothing beats the sound of a rotor

Yo, Its an opel calibra. Heavely modded ofc. and prob. v8 swapped.
Melodic Rotary Music
I watch lots of racing videos, from Indycar, to GT3 to Touring cars and more. Gotta say though, this car/track combo and camera placement, makes it seem like she's running in fast forward. DAMN she's quick. And she turns in like an absolute beast. It almost looks like oversteer, but then she straightens out and FLYS out of the corner
Need to hold higher mid corner speed.
What was in first the whole time?
Please let me know if this car will do the QLD round this year I must see this live lol
Rotary power will come back
Was that a Lister Storm in front of you in the first half of the video?
The only feature about this video I done like is::I'm not driving.
Holy shit, that turbo.
I am sure I am wrong in this but it seems the driver maybe could have pushed harder in the corners - I know rotaries have little in the way of engine braking so feel loose but lots of drivers give em heaps in the bends....engine sounds awesome and has huge power
Is it just me, or is some parts of the footage sped up, or does it look that way cos these cars are so fucking fast?
I just came.
Im pretty sure that Blue/White BMW has a Judd F1 V8 in it that spins at 12000 rpm
Angry , Angry bitch of a car ... Love it !
This is what happens when you don't have displacement capacity limit a rotary even a 20b would make as much torque.
Peri Port?
@spreilly71

As far ias i can tell you cany fully peri port a turbo rotary, only semi peri port.
He is having you because, you get off the throttle too early, and get on it too late
awesome sound!!! but the driver should push more breaking and slowing down too much on corner i think this rx7 can handle all them corner with speed without problem?
@alanmac8807

If you watch the car hold speeds pretty well around corners expecially under braking probably no need to push it so hard.
That Sun in the eyes looked Horrible to drive with!
JUST KEEP THE REVS UP AND YOU WILL GOING TO THE FRONT, HAVE NO MERCY THE ROTARY ENGINE CAN TAKE IT
You can beat them but you driving not to aggressive.
Honestly you dont need to win a race with a machine like this, just let it run...sounds like and revs like a kawasaki hhr
The best sound was at 6:15 - 6:21
Love this video,but the driver wasn't aggressive enough for me.
@dylanmccallister6739

I would have a hard time being aggressive with an easily 50k car. It costs 20k to get a stock car. then you have to make it into this.

driver was good...the car wasnt fast enough..too much drag on the straight line

I agree, it had corners he could have punched it more. The car seems very stable and a little more agression would have put him in front more or less. But beauty of a car, sounds very healthy
You are driving very defensively for being on the track, I could be wrong because I am not the one racing but it seemed like you could have put a lot more out of those corners and push the entrance much harder.

@samboofle3715

Hes not driving defensively, due to the rx-7 being extremely lightweight, rear wheel drive and front heavy, hed just oversteer or understeer.
@Tj1056

Sam Boofle the car is still quite close to a 50/50 weight distribution and I doubt he has stock suspension components so he should have hardly any oversteer or understeering problems... the rx7 is one of the best handing cars from the factory.

You've seen that right. He's braking very early for every corner and coasting a lot. Maybe he was not as experienced with the car yet and was still slowly checking out it's limits. Or maybe the car felt very sketchy but it did not show on camera, that could be the case too.
@Tj1056

SpaniardNL yea that could be true but why would you be testing or continuing with unknown vehicle conditions on race day?
Need to work on breaking, car is bad ass tho.
Better than sex....could go with this all day...wow.

2 people with broken speakers watch this video
If you driving a Rotary car like this nothing actually can catch you, if you really want to win and use the little slide around the corners to gain a little have you not see what motor cycles do now days
You will not catch that car in front
O, come on man it is not a piston engine, if you want to keep you have to slide the car a bit threw the corners to keep the revs up to gain on V8 cars
@julesjulian75

FYI, and ask any race car driver with some experience this, but sliding around corners is NOT the quickest way around a corner, because if ur sliding u are not going forward. Ur not getting 100% traction and drive out of corners. U certainly do not use "sliding" as a way to keep revs up!! Thats what properly sorted gearbox and diff ratio/s are for. Oh I laughed so hard when I read that comment, I shouldnt laugh, I mean u didnt know, its not ur fault.
Poos driver got taken by a commy
That thing can be only running on two rotors as its performance is below commodore as a 13B PP does a better job but that and the driver does lose the rev's all the time leaving mid corner as that's where they should be in high rev's Very disappointed.
What's the point of having a light car and NOT stand on the torque around corners?? Also my Aunt could change gears faster!

lewis huysmans hey if you spent your energy on the tracks instead on commenting on KZread maybe, just maybe you could be a better driver Mr. Lewis imnothamilton.

***** Yeah the same could be said about you. Ever heard of slow in fast out? Do you know that rotaries have low bottom end torque? This means that if he kept on the gas and was in the torque range he would need to change gear throughout the corner meaning he would probably spin. Also your aunt couldn't change the gears faster as the transmission is a sequential. The gears are switching in about 20-40 milsecs. Btw having a light car is good but you do lose traction in some cases, and you wouldnt want the turbo to be on power going through a coner as it can be unpredictable. I understand you're an obvious troll trying to seek attention to fill the void of your unpopularity so im going to leave you to struggle in depression.
