Well...this and the one somebody did for "Brave Shine." The two of them together pretty much encapsulate the RWBY Experience.

The mixing of SFX from the show with the music is brilliant, and done so well. Can't even imagine how hard it must've been to do it! The AMV is also really fun to watch. Scenes matching lyrics and audio tone so well, yet there's still such a chaotic mix of heavy action, painful drama, and lighthearted comedy - much like the show itself... though it is a pretty jarring transition at certain points :P

Thank you for such a thoughtful comment! I wanted the video to be a mix of action, humour and tragedy to reflect the show (like you said) and I liked the idea of having moments of fun followed by moments of pain, but I apologise if you found it jarring - that wasn't my intention but I see what what you mean. And I'm also a fan of videos that match clips to the lyrics and beat and use sound effects from the show to heighten the music so it tends to be how I edit - so thanks for saying they're well done. And once more thank you for such a great comment!

You're welcome and no need to apologize at all! I think many AMVs often pigeonhole themselves in an attempt to be either too serious or too silly, but no show is actually like that in reality. Maybe 'jarring' wasn't the best word for it. Unpredictable is more like it! So even if seeing some of the heaviest moments of Vol.3 mixed together with.. Weiss landing on Jaune's back for example, is a little surprising, it's still definitely a new experience that represents this show quite a lot better than most :P Looking forward to seeing future things you work on ^^

I completely agree - effects can be amazing and editors can create masterpieces with them, but I think simple edits can be just as brilliant (most of my favourite fan vids have very few effects in them). I started editing vids with Windows Movie Maker and while basic it was a great beginners tool and I learnt a lot from it. So yeah, to any wannabe editors out there don't think you need expensive software to create something great - play around with something free and you might be surprised by what you can make! And thank you Dominick :)

lol thought I'd let you know that 7 months after i still come here on a daily basis, this particular type of editing is so inspirational

I usually don't like AMVs that leave sound from the clips in but YOU USED THEM PERFETCLY. I'm upset that I didn't find tis sooner! What do you think of Vol 4 so far?

Love this video! I first saw it via tumblr almost a year ago and it got me into watching RWBY. I binged the first 3 seasons and what was out of season 4 at the time in one night xD From that I got very interested in other rooster teeth productions and even achievement hunter since I found out multiple voices from RWBY were there lol. I also got every one of my friends hooked on the show. Now I’m a FIRST member and went to see the vol 5 premiere in theaters! Now this video is almost nostalgic haha. Anyways, just thought it might be interesting to see one of the impacts this little amv has made. ^_^

What really makes this AMV great is hearing the sounds from the show in time with the music. The song also puts RWBY in a much more mature light and the clips look random at first glance but appear rather strategically placed if you dig into it.

Sometimes I feel like this vid looks like I threw everything at the wall and ran with whatever stuck but I did actually put a lot of thought into the clip choices and tried to edit it into a showcase of RWBY as a whole. And yeah, I think those sound effects are what makes this vid and people seem to really like them, which, ya know, always a bonus. Actually if you need any help with the audio I might be able to suggest some quotes from their GTA V that I've noted while I've been editing my own vids. I dunno if they'll work for you or not but if you're struggling for any particular quote it's possible I might have found something. And I'm good, I'm currently working on another Fake AH Crew vid and have a few others in the pipeline that will probably take forever to finish. Man, I remember finding this ages ago. It was my favorite video on KZread for a solid while. It's so nostalgic. RWBY today has... well, regardless of how you feel about the show's writing, I'm sure we can all agree that there *was* potential. I'm really not looking to start a fight, but this video makes me feel emotional in a way I really can't explain. It reminds me of a simpler time, I guess.

Just to expand on this, I love how this video so perfectly encapsulates everything RWBY is about. The action, the drama, and the humor is all there. While so many other videos focus on just one aspect or another, I feel like someone could use this AMV as a shorthand for what to expect from the series. I've watched this video probably half a dozen times since I first saw it and I still love it.

I did try to make this as kind of a showcase of the series and include different aspects of RWBY (action, drama, humour - like you said) so it's just great to know that I've achieved my goal!! And I'm glad that you're still enjoying this to watch it so much, wow!!

God damn child, this is fucking awesome, like hfs. If this was in a MV competition this would be a winner for me.

This AMV is a sole reminder on why despite everything, no matter what, no matter how much the quality shifted, I still love RWBY.

honestly the background noises from the series proper really boost the atmosphere. the gunshot noises add this oomph and they're flawlessly timed. really good video.

I still come back to this amv the most. It is the my favorite because it showcase along with the lyrics, whenever a character is walking by themselves and timing perfectly. It is the only one I see over and over again.

Man, there are some amazing RWBY amv's out there and some very talented editors in the community. Kind of glad I didn't watch many before I started my vid or I would have been totally intimidated.

All the timing of the show and the rythem is beautiful!!!

Editing this one wasn't too bad because I started it while watching RWBY so it was fresh in my mind and easy to find clips for (though the audio was still a massive headache). Of course now I've forgotten so much since I have the worst bloody memory so it's a bit of pain editing my current one (and the audio is still a massive headache). So yeah, it's taking a lot of time and patience to find the right clips and make them work, but it's always worth it when I'm done :)

Coming back to this 5 years later, this video makes me so sad. I used to love rwby and its just not as good as it used to be. I miss the old rwby man. This video still slaps tho!

@@NESOAries frrrrr, the i loved the first 3 seasons so so much and its devastating to see how it didnt continue as well as it could of.

Now when I listen to the original, I feel like something is missing when I don't hear the sound effects from rwby. Good job. The sound effects could have easily been annoying but you've made them work well with the music.

for some reason I see that a lot more with this specific song than others, even better they often do it in different ways.

It started out so light and happy go lucky and now there's so much going on!

I kept seeing this in my recommendations. Glad I got around to watching this. Definitely my favorite rwby amv. Barns Courtney and Rwby go so well together.

Oh man that's so great that my vid got your mum interested in RWBY - is she much of an anime fan? You should absolutely do a lyric comic for the song, I bet it would be awesome. Also Glitter and Gold is such a fun song to work with, I still love it so much even after hearing it so many times and after so long - hopefully you'll find it just as inspiring to work with :)

+ShinyElle It's because of the way the original sounds were incorporated...not lines of speech but sounds thought out to go and flow with the music as musical notes, whether on purpose or by accident. Most other attempt at sounds and speechs in RWBY AMV's I've seen don't really add to the video, more than often it does harm to the AMV. What you've done here is make a masterpiece of a RWBY AMV using original sounds to support the song and visuals....there are zero RWBY AMV's that have previously done that successfully. It's a one of a kind video.

Wow, that is some massive praise! Yeah I totally get why editors have trouble with using RWBY's original sounds - it can be difficult (or at least fiddly) adding them. A lot of the time it's trying to isolate the sounds (which frustratingly doesn't always happen) and finding a balance between the sound effects and the music used in RWBY, and then making sure the sound fits with the song and the clip (and it doesn't always work out and that means a lot of wasted time, but it's still necessary). On the other hand sometimes accidents work out, like at 0.50 with Cinder fighting Ozpin I didn't think I would be able to use the show's sounds since the music was so loud but I actually loved how it made the song more epic and it flowed better than I hoped into Ruby yelling 'Pyrrha!'. Didn't mean to ramble on there but I guess it gives an idea of how I edit. It was great to get this comment (and all it's lovely praise) so thank you very much for leaving it :)

Torchwicks EHHH? Always makes me laugh and it was perfect in this AMV. XD Also gotta say this is probably my favorite AMV ever, I love how the beat lines up with something happening. I just also love the little voice lines that chip in every once and a while from the show, like Boop, Zwei Barking, Nora Laughing, Ruby going Kacha in the first episode, and the whole RWBY team shouting for the food fight.

I feel like I should tell you that whenever I want to listen to this song, I play this AMV instead of the plain audio because I can no longer hear it without the sound effects. Subsequently, I just end up watching it over and over again, haha. Thank you for this masterpiece ^°^!

I dropped out of RWBY years ago but this song was on the radio the other day and made me think of this video, so I just came to look it up and it's still badass.

I've been rewatching RWBY which reminded me of this, so I had to come back and watch it again. Still my favorite amv, probably ever. You made the sounds of RWBY match up so well with the music. Love RWBY.

While editing this I really wished there'd been more but I got there in the end.

I keep on replaying this, and every time it's still perfect. I love how the lyrics and the visuals complement each other. It's sort of like a 2 minute 56 second crash course through what RWBY is

I was trying to make it representative of the show as a whole, from the mix of action, fun and sadness, to portraying the large cast of characters and key moments (while still trying to match it to the song) so it's great to have it described as a crash course through RWBY - it makes it feel like I achieved my goal. Thank you so much for this comment!!

Honestly, this has been the one of the most well put together AMV's i have seen.
