I'm really liking how the spirits of the relics truly like what they do and they are more than just the duty they were made for. Jinn is the spirit of knowledge and could have answered Ruby's question in under two minutes flat, but she's also a storyteller at her core and gives the heroes Ozpin's and Salem's entire life story. Even when she is twice denied her purpose she doesn't mind too much, calling Ruby's use of her time stopping clever and Hazel uses her very existence as an answer in itself. Ambrosius is the spirit of creation and could create whatever's requested (as long as it's within his power) with a wave of his hand and no further comment, but he is both a showman and an architect that can appreciate more creative works, see how he considers making a rock big enough to hold a city float basically indefinitely boring but praises Pietro for making a person and almost geeks out over Penny's schematics. Then when he is given a request that actually requires some actual thought and not just sheer power, he gives it all the attention it deserves and comes with a result that pleases everybody.

It would make sense for the relic spirits to be impressed by people who understand the nature of their aspect. Jinn congratulated Ruby using the knowledge of the time stop ability in a strategic manner, while Ambrosias was fascinated by an awesome feat of creation like Penny.

Spring is the season of new life, but is a barrent wasteland. Not sure about Summer, but fall is generally considered to be the season of decay, so it'll very likely be a place of uncontrolled growth.

It's like Robin Williams hasn't left QAQ Edit: when Jinn was first introduced, I knew there was something familiar about her and then when Ambrosius showed up that's when I realised that Jinn is like the oracle from "Aladdin and the king of thieves", well aside the fact that she follows the rule of one: one question one answer, one person one question but she somehow made an exception for Aladdin like jinn did for Ruby.

Destruction could also be a Miranda Preisley type or otherwise a woman that sees Destruction as a cleansing force that helps make room for healing as well as something that is indiscriminate and must either be guided or let go. And Choice could actually be a shapeshifter with no defined form with a personality that is both capricious and disciplined.

@@skrubknight884 That would be nice, but the Genies so far haven’t really followed a strict elemental theme, and even then, it’s a bit restrictive to boil down destruction into fire when the Genies (or at least, Jinn) are shown to have more esoteric capabilities (like Time Stop for Knowledge which actually makes sense, but isn’t something normally associated so directly)

I'm gonna be honest; Jinn's brother really grew on me despite the short time he's had in his first episode. He's got respect for creative problem solving, he's kind enough to verify the risks and ramifications of the task before proceeding, and all he needs to do his job is a blueprint or similar concept to make the job's done right. All you have to do is make sure you know what you want. I mean, Jinn's pretty reasonable too, but Ambrosius has some charisma and confidence that I can't help but like. Oz was right, he is a character.

I was shocked that there was spirit inside, but the artist inside me gushed over him, and the fact he reminds me of Sidon from Zelda just fell head over heals for this charming lad! 😍😍

Counterpoint on Will Smith’s role as the genie, I think he would have been a great genie if the genie role was allowed to reflect his comedic style of wordplays and his emotional moments of drawn out talking rather than being forced to be Robin Williams 2.0. Whether it would have been good is debatable but it would have been better then the weird attempt to make lightning strike twice.

The main problem with Will as Genie is because Robin didn't 'become' the Genie as a voice actor who is truthful to a character - the Genie was specifically designed *for* Robin Williams. The staff literally made a character with exactly one person in mind, and hinged everything on Robin saying yes after the fact. You just *can't* give that sort of completely-tailored-to-a-single-personality role to another person and expect it to work.

I still think there’s a possibility maybe if Salem gets the relic she could force/corrupt the relic to due what she wants or she can use it to recreate the body but put Grimm inside of it instead of Pyrrha’s soul witch they can also do with Roman and Summer if they want to keep Neo on team Salem and Cinder would be able to torture Ruby and friends even more and as a bonus this would give JNR a end goal instead of them just sitting in the back while RWBY defeats Salem.

I love this guy too much.

The beings inside each relic seem to be a vessel for their aspects. Knowledge was alll owing and wanted to see what specifically those in front of wanted to know, being incredibly curious about what their wording would be. This guy is a craftsman who is only as good as the blueprints and projects he’s given, so he likes things he can really flex his abilities on. Makes me wonder ho destruction and choice will behave if we get to see them

My theory on the genies' rules: So Jinn's is asking 3 questions every 100 years and Ambrosia can't bring people back from the dead. So for the Relic of Destruction, it could be that he or she can't kill anybody. Also maybe the Relic of Choice can't force someone to choose.

Just noticed that the relics spirits, a lot like the kindom’s their in, have their chains resemble the relic, Jin has hoop eatings that look similar to the map, and ambrosias has a staff center peice

I love how this spirit with the power to create anything actually talked it over with them about how he is going to do what they ask of him. Anyone else would've just been like "whatever", but this guy, regardless of his obvious ego, actually works with his new "masters" (you know him being a genie and all)

Ambrosius, the example that man's ambition can lead to creation and should be fostered as such, instead of being ripped away entirely.

I do appreciate when god like beings can be just as over the top and hammy as the human characters.

Jinn is humble, wise, straightforward and playful. Ambrosius is playful, direct, ruling binding, and literal. I find the Spirit of Destruction will be aloof or depressing. While I think the Spirit of Choice will be demanding and situational.

There's something so funny about rwby getting criticised for creating a sexualized female genie and their response was to create a second, sexualized male genie lmao

This is the same guy who did the Reverse Flash memes, by the way.

So there I am, watching youtube, minding my own business and avoiding rwby videos so I don't get spoiled, when this video pops up in my recommended. God damn it KZread.

I love how they used Ambrosius’s nature against him to bend the rules. He could never just leave Penny’s soul without a body, because that would basically be death, and he can’t bring himself to Destroy. It’s applying munchkinry to high-concept fantasy. Like when Aladdin traps Jafar in the lamp.
