Education has enormous potential to act as a driver for sustainable development (SD) and the education SDG (Goal 4) is central to the realisation of the other SDGs.
The ‘wicked problem’ that education systems face is how to simultaneously address the current learning crisis whilst transforming education systems to become drivers of SD. This challenge must be addressed simultaneously across all sectors of education and training systems and at global, regional, national and local scales.
