Thank you for a trip down memory lane!! I lived in Glendale in 1968 and 69. Not sure when the last time I was on South Mountain but it was quite a site. Left the area in February 1970 and have never been back. Thanks for bringing some good memories back!!

Nostalgia can be wonderful. We're happy to have stirred up some memories for you. Just think, some of the saguaros you've seen back then have not grown too much and are nearly as you've seen them. Thanks for being with us so long and for your comments -- much appreciated.

Hi you two! Great video! We getaway every early fall for 3-4 weeks. We have taken in more than 50 national parks and national monuments. There are so many amazing places. We've spent a couple of nights at the Bonneville salt Flats while time trials were happening. It's amazing to see a vehicle go over 400 mph. The great thing is that you can walk right into the pits and talk to the driver or the crew without hindrance. We went on from there to the dinosaur national Park on the border of Colorado. It was neat to be able to go up and touch dinosaur bones sticking out the side of a hill. Black Canyon to the south is very impressive. Another great venture was climbing down into the Pueblo cliff dwellings and explore those amazing structures down by four corners. I was halfway through our first year's trip three years ago. Of course you're familiar with the national parks in southern Utah. They are magnificent 2 years ago, we went to New Mexico and Texas. In Texas we focused on the big bear national Park, another amazing place. Of course we also took in Carlsbad Caverns to New Mexico. Roswell's space alien Museum was pretty cheesy, unless you really believe in those types of things. The people we met were absolutely wonderful at every stop. Chatted with a cowboy looking guy in Texas and made comment and how friendly everyone was. He put on a big smile and said, "Welcome to Texas!" Going down and walking through the Rio Grande River to Mexico and back was beautiful. Last year we took in many Northwest attractions. California's Lassen Natl Park is a mini Yellowstone National Park. Also many place to go spelunking in that area. We also took in the Redwoods area. So much to see and experience. Maybe this fall we will take in what you just recommended. Take care! Of course it's raining here!

We enjoyed the Arizona Desert Outdoor Museum. It’s a wildlife center with amazing natural habitat setting in Tucson. The raptor show was incredible! Well worth the cost, plan to spend the day and walk a lot.

You did some great hikes that were quite scenic ! In the Pacific Northwest it hasn’t been very warm this year so far , only 2 days that I remember! I was going to hike the Spruce RR trail in fact this morning but it’s snow out around Lake Crescent so, waterfront trail this morning! Down jackets. Hoods up and fleece gloves were worn by most everyone I met ! I’m waiting for the temperature to rise above 38* ! I past due this spring !

It helps when it's no cold. Likewise, the hiking areas that we've been in lately will soon be too hot. We hope you get out for some more fun soon. Thanks for watching this one and taking the time to comment.

Hi Bernie and Susan. A few weeks back I did some trails at Big Bend NP and more recently I was at Organ Pipe hiking a few of their trails (easier ones). Spent a week in Ajo on the Scenic Loop - such a cool area. I'm now on my way to the Sedona / Grand Canyon area. Being from Philadelphia, this whole trip is un-worldly. Gonna be hard to go back to Philly after this trip!

What I have been up to these past 6-8 months is enduring a stretch of hard times. In July of last year I was diagnosed with a severely pinched nerve the lower neck portion of my spine which was extremely painful and made me unable to work until it was relieved via spinal fusion surgery in mid-October. My recovery from surgery was a bit slower than anticipated, but thankfully I was able to return to work by the first week of November. Then in mid-December I came down with a serious case of flu and really didn't recover from that until 6 weeks later. I haven't been anywhere or really done anything other than work when I can and stay focused on rebuilding my normally robust health, but I am REALLY looking forward to spring and warmer weather and finally being able to get out into the outdoors again. Nothing planned so far, given my finances took a terrible hit due to health issues, so likely just gonna hang out locally, but Northern Idaho is a great place for that!
