I don’t comment on KZread videos, but I just had to, so I could say Wow! Great job! You really captured the Best of the Keys!

I have snorkel at the Biscayne national park , it was at the middle of the ocean, at a shallow reef, and at Dry Tortugas and I always pray that everytime I snorkel in reefs that I dont encounter sharks. But I know that if sharks are there, the reef is healthy. The Keys was one of the best trips I took. The seafood is the best!

It really looked like a great time, was this an older shot, different Pickup and no Jeep, did I miss something, hummmmmmmm

Tom and Cheri, love the video when i seen you were in Key West I was hoping to see the Jolly Rover. This coming May will be ten years since my wife and I was Married on the Jolly Rover. fun fact instead of unity candle they let us fire the cannon. what a wonderful memory. I to RV & Boondock it up in Hawthorne Fl now, my winter camp, now while living in Flint Ridge Resort, Kansas, OK. 74347. The RV life for retired folks. Keep posting those adventures. Thank you so much for posting. Perhaps we shall meet again on the RV adventure trail.

It's been 20 years since I was down at Looe Key. Took that same snorkeling trip after learning it was the best reef in the continental US. for variety and number of tropical fish. Since then, we hear about the fragile reef systems being threatened world wide by global warming etc. I thought surely Looe Key had likely suffered coral die off as well. From your video it still looks healthy. So relieved to see. I remember from what I experienced, the number and variety of fish out numbered by far what I've seen in Cozumel /Cancun. I remember Bahia Honda beaches shallow waters had huge Conch shells hiding every few feet under the sand only noticeable by seeing them blow water and flip over as you approached. It's an amazing spot for sure. Thanks for your great series of videos touring The Keys! It's good to know this treasure is still thriving.

The trail used to go all the way to key west but many part were washed out by hurricanes. Some bridges also share the lanes with cars.

My sister in law and her husband lived on the middle island 🏝 for 30 yrs.

Stop in at Big Oaks Camp Ground on your way down , Stephen's Ga.

When you go on your snorkel trips bring some cheese whiz. Great for feeding the schools of fish there.while snorkeling!

Thank you for sharing your journey. I have not been to Big Pine Key since 1989. I don't remember the No Name Pub being painted yellow tho but I do remember the delicious pizza. I have a dollar hanging there too!

Definitely would like to bring the RV to a campground in the keys

I grew up in S. Fla., everyone there pronounces it 'Ba hee uh'. Even google ("Google, pronounce Bahia"). Bahia Honda used to be the most beautiful of the southern keys/cays until KOA opened that campground. Try imagining it with just the old bridge and nothing else but a couple sandy pull-offs and only 5% of the traffic noise...

Love the video! I grew up in Key West and the locals pronounce Bahia Honda as Bay-Ah Honda.

Nice throw back, seeing the old chevy and prius, seems so long ago lol

11 months out and still that campground is booked SOLID. I think it's time Florida started surcharging Canadians.

The solution to the no-see-ums is mosquito coils based on Pyrethrin. It kills them instantly on contact. We had them bad when we were in the Everglades and the ranger recommended them, set one alight in our tent and it was like translucent rain as they fell out of mid air as the smoke hit then. BTW there's also sand fleas in the Keys, they love that sea grass you were showing from the kayaks where it washes onto the beach. We had that at the KOA in the Keys and the only solution was to be moved to a different site away from the beach.

I camp hosted there for 3 months

Do you know why the city is called Marathon...because of people trying to swim from Cuba to America...it can be done in a shark cage..2 miles per hour...you got me hooked now...I have to do that route..I drove from Montgomery Al to Tampa then cut back up to Disney world then the express through Auburn back to Montgomery...with my at the time 3'yrvold great grandbaby..at the time she was the only great..now I have 11...you think I can get them all in a motorhome..lol

We can not even get in to Curry Hammock. We live in Florida and cannot stay in most of these awesome parks. Sad.
