used this tape/kit on my class C this weekend and feel very good about the results. The most difficult part was removing the old sealant from the RV and from the inside of the molding. I found that using the alcohol spray on the old sealant made this task much easier. Also, I live in Florida and did this job in temps at 90 and above. A major problem we solved was that, in that heat, we were not able to remove the cellophane from the sealant on the roll. It was all stuck together and very soft. We put the roll in the freezer for about 5 min and were finally able to get the initial pull of the cellophane accomplished easily. However, after only about 10 inches of work it was all stuck together again and we were not able to separate the two to continue working. We took first aid cool packs from the freezer and put them against the cellophane and it would again pull of about 12 inches easily. Once we got this routine down the job was accomplished and the tape appears to have done an excellent job of sealing the corners.

Hi Mike, What you want to achieve is after reinstalling the molding there is no corner seal (or very little) extending beyond the edges of the molding. Try measuring from the center of the molding (right on the corner) to the edges of the molding in both directions. Add the two measurements together and that should indicate which width of tape will work best for your project.

I'd rather use eternabond tape...much better!

What gauge and crown and size staples? Is there a what staple gun are you using ? I can only find narrow crown staples and that doesn't grab a lot of material to hold down and it's not good for use with the rubber roof we need a wider crown 18 gauge staple I can't find any here in North Carolina it's ridiculous

I'm not sure off the top of my head. Have you looked online? There should be something available that would work.

Why may I ask, don't they put this sealing on these rigs at the factory? I think I know. Problem, reaction, solution.

Where can I get the metal corner moulding?

RV Education 101® looking for the metal trim not the seal.kit

I like the system but when I saw him run that bead of silicon I dam near died. I bet that took some work cleaning up. Lol. But love the product or I should say the idea. I can use different materials and achieve the same results. So price of this kit would be what matters to me.

It wasn't silicone, it was the sealing product that came in the kit, and it was easy to tool just using water and a wet rag.
