I only really followed him with Man U. Loved his style with that transitional misfit team. Didn't realize he scored so many CL goals.

I'm a Man U fan and loved RVN, but I have to admit the better all round player was Henry. Pure finishing perhaps RVN sneaks it...but that's about it.

The tight angle goal against basel away will always stick in my mind with ruud. Undoubtedly one of the greatest strikers to have ever wear the united shirt.

The best centre forward I've ever seen in my life. Never switched off always first to react to a save a deflection a rebound. Always in the right place for a pass or cross. Always seemed to have space in the box and had the skill to make space. First touch was excellent second touch was usually a goal. His off the ball running was as relentless as it was intelligent and the only thing quicker over 10 yards was his brain. The way he could dig the ball out from under his feet and get a sweet contact is underrated the way he could chip the keeper from 10 yards is too. Never scuffed or miss hit a shot he was surgical with his finishing and he would go in 50/50 with his head. As a striker he was pure devastation. 🔥

His penalties 😍 I love the way he just smashes them with such accuracy

His first 2 season at United, he was lethal ! Team playing style really suit him, when Becks left and Ronaldo came, Ruud became less effective

What a player

His chest control skill was underrated. When people talked about Ruud they talk about his positioning and his finishing but rarely say anything about chest control who was as good as Fellaini.

The best goalscorer I've ever witnessed! Ruud have all these insane records and he had some serious injuries, my fav player,if he stayed in utd he would've been the record holder! He scored 150 goals in 5 seasons "i should say 4 cuz he missed 5 months on one of them" i wished he won the ucl thats why i wanted him to stay at utd.. thank you for this vid!

We should have won the 2004 ucl if not for Howard's blunder and scholesy disallowed goal ruined that dream. Its a bit of travesty that ruud didn't win many more honours with us. The guy deserve so much more after all the goals he scored for us.

@@afiq358 i completely agree! 2004 was for the taking! Paul's disallowed goal changed everything unfortunately.. i truly believed we would win it, ruud didn't come in our absolute best but in our transition period, thats why i wished he stayed till 2010 at least he would've won much more

@@footballchannel8430 Milan defeated by Deportivo and Arsenal defeated by Chelsea that season. If man united won against Porto, their next campaign is Lyon, Deportivo, and Monaco. Way better route than Monaco who defeat Madrid and Chelsea that season

Beckham was obviously a great passer but that doesn't mean you just give him credit for anything, you know that wasn't intentional he didn't even know the ball went to him lol

Ruud's heading ability is so underrated and never discussed much. The amount of power he could generate on a ball that had hardly any pace on it (and many times was just a chip up) was astonishing. Most other strikers would barely reach the keeper with some of those efforts, never mind land it in the net.
