Yeah Lajovic looked really impressive for one and a half sets. Played a careless game with that double fault at 40-15 and subsequently got broken. After that his game completely fell apart. Unfortunately his best point of the match, that vicious slice backhand winner at 6:5 30-30 was not included in these highlights, it clearly left an impression on Stefanos.

He doesn't have a typical "weapon" to assault the TOP 5... No giant serve, no insane backhand, no ruthless forehand with much topspin... This is the year of payback and retribution (karma for the spiritually oriented). Sinner after years of bad luck and close calls, finally got his due at the AO. Tsitsipas and Ruud, after years of getting bullied and pummeled by Djokovic and Nadal, especially on the clay front, are getting their due. And all three have put in tonnes of hard work. If karmic retribution is true, it's going to be Ruud who will be lifting the trophy tomorrow, and possibly we are seeing the two French Open' 24 finalists also play.

feels like ruud put more potency in his forehand by finishing over his shoulder more and lassoing it less

I live and laugh that Stef’s opponents keep trying to hit his backhand which on clay is really strong and one of his weapons 😂😂😂. It’s not strong on hard surfaces but on clay ? Cmon…I love they are persistent on playing him there and lose miserably

Stef can sometimes turn on his backhand on hard court and grass as well - but not as consistently as on clay.... yet. :)

Ruud fixed the ONE gripe I had with him - hitting too much top spin. His balls used to just sit up but now hes hitting through the court. I expect him to win some tournaments now

One more time Casper in a final but... I'm afraid it is most he can get in a tournament again. Lack of luck. 😣

Tsitsipas outlasted Lajovic today, and Djokovic did that to him in 2021 FO, really puts into perspective how fit Novak is... He barely drops his level even over 5-setters
