Hi both, this happens a lot to me to with lots of channels where I don't get notified , it's frustrating! But glad you could see this. Yes the castle is great but there are parts we didn't really show where they are doing work on it to make it safe, think we showed a little bit of that. You have so much experience visiting Welsh historical sites, Is it true you can tell what century the building was built by just looking at it from the outside? Nice courtyard spot at 3:07. At 5:16 i have no idea how they built that ceiling hundreds of years ago. Imagine the work involved.

Hi Lion, if you mean can I personally tell what century a building is from , yes more or less , especially with church buildings because I studied Early Church History With Theology and we have worked for Churches, some historic, and we visit so many . It's kind of like knowing what decade houses are built from like the 50s, 60s 70s etc, :) I know what you mean about the beautiful oak roof in the church that has probably, tradition says, come from BASINGWERK ABBEY IN Holywell which is about 20 miles from here in Ruthin. How they built it then moved it here I don't know . Its all fascinating. Thanks for joining us :)

This castle is huge and the gardens lovely, Anna and Alf. It's in remarkably good shape for it's age! We enjoyed the tour and hearing you tell about it's history. Great info in the description too! The church was beautiful, but wait. Is that a tent inside? A children's play area? Never saw that before. Lovely organ! We enjoyed seeing the wooden buildings mixed in with the stone ones in the charming town too. Thanks so much for bringing us along.

Ruthin Castle is layered with wonderful history starting before the US was even a notion King Edward seems to have generated lots of history Owain Glynwr too That St Peters church is beautiful Charming village good walking on the Stryd. The castle being started in 1277 is beyond incredible! I can’t believe how old it is and that is survived attacks. I always love that you teach us welsh words as well. I love the medieval style and so cool it’s a hotel now. I always enjoy learning both the welsh languages pieces and the incredible history you share with us! Absolutely amazing. Anna and Alf, have a wonderful Tuesday! I hope you're both doing well! This castle is enormous, and the gardens are beautiful! It's in very fantastic condition considering its age! In the picturesque town, we also appreciated seeing the wooden structures mixed in with the stone ones. Thank you very much for including us! 💕🏰

And yet again you're doing us a great service by educating the world on our beautiful nation! and THANK YOU for bringing up Owain Glyndwr, the last TRUE prince of Wales! Aww thanks Vicki so very much . Isn't that amazing built in 1277 and then obviously they have added in the newer parts to make it into a hotel . The ruins that are left are amazing to see next to the newer sections . Thanks for watching , blessings to you too 🙏

You know, just seeing old ruins or just anything old like this, just makes you stare and wonder...who walked here, who stood here or lived..etc. It's just so amazing to see and think about. Stayed over in Ruthin a couple of times, thoroughly enjoyed. Hotel in square good value, sat outside in evening sun to end some cracking days!

A historic place with buildings that look ancient but still dashing until now. It's a very valuable relic.
