Hi!
This is my Rusty Vise Restoration!
I found this vise at flea market few days ago and cost me 2 euro.

I just wanted to point out something I saw. Never start painting on the object, start from a little left or right of the object and then slowing come towards it as there can be air bubbles or paint chunks which comes out first and if you start from a lil outside your main object will get a flawless painting. Keep up the good work

Yeah dude, with cars is the same (i am from Spain and study this) You start painting outside the object and finish outside too, because if you don't do this the paint can drain xd

@Malchik Blue That is most likely perfect grammar in his native language. The source of most grammatical errors for non-native English speakers is when they quite naturally apply the grammar rules of their native language to English. English grammar is complicated and weird.

Hey it's the dude who makes those hilarious tow videos.
From a piece of crap to a piece of art, one video at a time. Thank you for these relaxing moments!
Excellent restoration. The one mystery is why 497 people gave a thumbs down. Why!!
Just the video I needed to see. Just bought a Heavy Record Vise, it's old and needs some TLC. Remove some rust and gunge. Then remove the old paint and give it a new paint job, etc. You have helped me with the process immensely. Thank You so much. Your vise turned out to be a work of art. I hope I can do something like that for my new vise. All the best.
The vise probably looks better now than when it left the factory!
Man that looks so nice I don't even think I'd want to use it.
Ok but like seriously: clamp your clamps to the table pls (I don't do this kind of work but even I wince a bit 😆)

Oh, I used to own one of these vises: right long before Duane G. Shelton sold it off. I'm impressed when you made this universal vise great again. You had the tools and the machines to do it. It's the know-how.
Geez that's a well done video. No stupid music, just very easy to watch.
I realize, as you do too, that applying filler to any vice does absolutely nothing for the vice other then make it look nicer. But, That also tells me you care about your projects enough to take the time to do such things. Nothing wrong with that, and I would do the same. Thumbs Up!
That is a piece of art good enough to put on a coffee in the living room..well done.
This is the first video of yours where I essentially couldn’t tell the difference between you and your friend, “My Mechanics”. Your procedures are now basically the same. I don’t know who taught who. Either way, the results are fantastic. Well done sir!

1 like for hammerite painting... I like it, new colour on this vice, i remember one, my father have it, same colour. Good memories.
The contrast between the blue metallic and the plain metal is stunning!

Beautiful job
thank you for making a 2 dollar vise restoration video that doesn't involve 2 billion dollars of milling equipment
Very nice, I especially like the color.
Thank you my mechanics. You are by far the best. It is a pleasure watching you work. Thank you.
Another lovely job from Tysy. Now all you have to do is *BOLT IT DOWN*
Well I'd be a son of a sad sailor, its official ya gone an done it again you made something old look better than it could have been when it was first made. 10 cheers mate.👌👌👌👌😊
You give everything so much aesthetic pleasure!
Oh my! She looks better now than my brand, spanking new one!!
Funny story: never really was into or never thought I was into restoration videos... sure I like diy doll remakes home decorating etc but how I came about this channel: I fell asleep one night binge watching something totally unrelated and woke up to scraping and power tools turned off videos and the next day I couldn’t shake the sounds so that night as I laid in bed I searched for that video that woke me up lol and let’s just say I’ve been binge watching every since I rewatch prior videos viewed the sounds put me peacefully to sleep but the beauty of bringing something thought to be trash or useless back to life lifts my spirit. So to TYSY TUBE THANK YOU!!!
Erstklassige Arbeit. Der Schraubstock ist besser als neu.

one of my favorites!
I love that the old hammer is used to help restore.
That's a great parts washing cabinet. Great restoration.
I'm not a great fan of sandblasting, but I'm sure you gave some fans a heart attack when you decided to switch to the paint stripper. I agree with you, it was faster. I didn't realize that a vice has so many parts. It was a joy to watch. That was a great find, and a beautiful restoration. Bravo! 😄 A fan from Puerto Rico.

I like the 2 different aproaches between Tysy and My Mechanics. Tysy restores using as many of the origional parts as possible, where as My Mechanics often will make all new compotents for a lot of parts. I like both methods! I know I am fairly late to the party with this video but something to note, Tys, your wood based blasting media (I assume its one of the wood based ones from the look and performance of it) will struggle on any type of paint more than just one layer, and definatly will struggle on epoxy based paints. even glass beed media has a hard time with epoxy paints. going forward, you'll save yourself lots of time just going straight to the paint remover first! then using the blaster. I have spent many hours blasting parts as well.
Tysy Tube 👌 super restauration🤘☺️😎
This is a fun one since you've used this for other restorations I'm the future!

The blues are beautiful! 👍Sy nice restoration.
This blue, this specific blue, is my favorite color ever since you presented it here in the channel. It's so pretty!
Love the color. great restore. Thanks for sharing
Wow!! Beautiful restoration.
In a lot of times, a rusty and old tool is better than a new one; just because it has rust don't mean it can not do it's job properly and efficiently. You only need to take care of what is yours, and you'll be rewarded with a lifetime 's quality set of tools. By the way, great restoration video, TysyTube! You always amuse me and all the people with your content! ;)
When I saw that it was a blue vise that was being restored, I thought "I hope he repaints that in that beautiful Hammerite blue color". I very happy to see that come to be in the video. It looks great!
Nice job, Tysy! Beautiful vice!
I really like that color blue you use, especially with the polished steel surfaces. Maybe try some black primer as a base coat to deepen the blue, I think it would be very bold. Nice job 👍♥️🙂🎄
Very well done! Looks brand new! Do the HUGE wrench next!
Very nice. The Hammerite paint finish looks much better from a spray gun too.
I've seen others restoration channels before, but i keep seeing this one because this level of perfection, precision, the level of finish, its only in this channel, keep going like that men, every restore you make its a piece of art!

Serious job. Well done. I didn't know you could thin out and spray hammerite like that. Good to know. Currently doing a 1930s carpenters woodworking vise myself.
