Rusty model 1927: my project for my son, look at his reaction

In this video, I took on the challenge of restoring one of the earliest models of trucks in the history of the Soviet Union - the ZIL AMO 15F from 1927. You'll witness every step of my restoration process, from removing rust to replacing parts. The end result of this project is a fully restored truck that I'll be giving to my son as a gift. You'll see his reaction at the end of the video. Thank you for supporting my channel - there are many more interesting projects ahead, so don't forget to subscribe.

That happy little "Woah!" at the end, tho. Too bad the placement for the "next up" videos are in the way of seeing the full smile. He's a cutie.

No Zil, sino AMO.

Leave out the un-necessary theatrics and painful slow motion, as when removing the screws with tweezers. Also, you would have attained better and quicker results with a sand blaster. Results were very nice though.

This is a real heyday thing for the elderly generation of American children. Especially what dates back to 1927. Since you've mentioned the year 1927, this revamps back the memory of when I found out that our American ancestors used to make their Halloween masks out of brown, white, or even black paper shopping bags. This was right long before the Ben Cooper plastic Halloween masks were made. Think of the technology they didn't have, even back then in 1927. 🎒 🛍 📃

When trying to get at rust like that get a thick motorcycle brake cable and superglue one end to fit in your rotary tool. Use the frayed end to eat the rust.

Of course, I'm very sorry, but if my memory and vision serves me right, the details of the model are made by injection molding. From an alloy of aluminum, copper and silicon of the AKM series (AK5M2 for example). Now tell me how aluminum, copper and silicon can "rust" with the color of the oxides corresponding to the oxides of steel? Or has material science in the US gone that far ahead? Other than that, great, good job.

you are right, before that someone made this model apparently for a collection or some kind of scene. I have already returned the original appearance. but this coating, I confess, was also very difficult to remove. Thank you 😉 you have very deep knowledge in the field of materials science. watch my other videos, there is real rust)
