Even with all the jigs that must have taken years to work out, the electric tools and modern abrasives, that was an incredible amount of manual labour that went into that one stool. it must be worth a thousand dollars!

Hola. Gracias por las palabras amables. Sí, este pegamento en realidad es blanco. Para oscurecerlo le agrego ortiga. Lo que le puse a la manguera es "Teak Oil". El segundo acabado que hago es "Danish Oil", que aplico con un paño.

Hi Carl. Thank you. To determine the angle of the leg, I have a bubble attached to the drill. The base of the bubble is at the required angle. It is not well visible here in this video, it is better seen here. kzread.info/dash/bejne/oWGBsI-vYtifqJc.html

There’s an impressive amount of custom tooling and jigs here that the average guy might not fully appreciate. I’m curious about this black glue you’re using. Is that marine glue, and how many of these are you able to complete in a day?

The glue is originally white, I tint it. When the glue hardens, it is gray rather than black. This is polyurethane adhesive PRO45 P. I don't know exactly, because I never do them one by one or in a row, but I think I can do about one such stool a day.

I’ve been wanting to get into building log furniture for a while but always procrastinated because I imagined (to do it well) I’d need a fair bit of tooling as you have with the lathe and jointer and that cool articulating router jig.

The liquid black stuff I use to tint the wood is an aqueous solution of the tinting agent. The tinting mixture is a mixture I invented myself, which matches the tone of the aged wood exactly. Since this is my company secret, I can't reveal it, sorry. This paste-like black stuff that I use between two coats is the same toning mixture, only mixed with oil. Greetings

Здравствуйте, Владимир. Успехов и сил Вам, как в работе, так и в жизни. Очищаю эти ольхи весной, когда потекут соки, когда появятся первые листья, кора раскроется и ее легко чистить. Не очень легко, но по сравнению с деревьями, срубленными зимой, когда кора закрыта, работы в разы меньше. А зимой кору с ольхи начисто не соберешь, приходится ошкуривать болгаркой, еще много работы и результат тоже не очень чистый. Это правда, что деревья, срубленные весной, при высыхании расщепляются. Это правда, что чем тоньше дерево, тем меньше вероятность того, что оно расколется, но все же. Поэтому эти места трещин я проклеиваю расширяющимся полиуретановым клеем. Проклейка тоже дело вкуса, все равно похоже на ремонт. Но так как я делаю эту мебель, чтобы зарабатывать деньги, а не как хобби, коммерческий вид тоже важен. Если внутри есть трещины, это обычно негативно влияет на желание купить. По большей части. Сушка длится около двух месяцев. Ольха довольно быстро сохнет. Сначала я позволил деревьям стоять снаружи без крыши. Дождь и солнце придают деревьям темный оттенок. Я делаю это потому, что если делать мебель из несостаренного, чисто белого дерева, такая мебель все равно потемнеет, стоя на улице. Затем я делаю его темным с самого начала.

Hi. As you can see from the videos, my tenons are gradual. Smaller part 30 mm. - 1.1811 inch, bigger 50 mm - 1.9685 inch. I mainly use this size. Some tenons are also thinner. All the best!

This is "Teak Oil". As a basic substance linseed oil, solvent, fungicide to prevent mold and desiccant to accelerate the drying polymerization.

Здравствуйте Pинаt. Я делаю эту мебель из серой ольхи. И прежде всего из-за мягкости ольхи. В более мягкой древесине штифты с такой конструкцией подходят друг к другу лучше, чем в твердой древесине, а при параллельном расположении нескольких штифтов также имеется определенный допуск. Клен - гораздо более твердая древесина, чем ольха, но это можно сделать, но требуется большая точность. Здоровья и вам!

Здравствуйте Алексей. Про пятно ничего сказать не могу, это моя фирменная тайна. Но я использую "Teak Oil" для пропитки дерева. В последнее время я использую «Датское масло» для покрытия дерева, до этого я использовал масляный воск.

I thought that someone would finally say something about the safety of tools. It's strange that no one has said it before. I guess it's the case that standard tool safety measures are only available in courses and hobbyists. When working constantly, these safety measures turn out to be confusing and, when sufficient skill is developed, also unnecessary. Then safety is more in the state of mind when doing work, than in safety aids.
