Rusted Long Sword - Satisfying RESTORATION

This is a medieval style double edged long sword .The blade length of this longsword is almost 85 cm (≈33 in.), a width of almost 2 inches (5 cm) and thickness of 0.5 cm with a tang of length 23 cm (≈9 in.)made up of Hard Carbon steel, later on after restoration the overall length including hilt is ≈ 45 inches. This was a perfectly Damascus cold steel. By the way this long sword was too much rusty then I decided to restore it.
I am very satisfied with the end product and i hope you'll also like it. Sit back and enjoy your video and do not forget to share your precious comment about it.
Rusty Medieval long-sword RESTORATION
I showed the whole procedure for restoring this longsword in this video.
o. First I used sand blaster to remove RUST.
o. I used sandpapers of different GRITS for shine of the Blade.
o. Brass casting was done for the HANDLE to look more.
o. Acid etch for revealing Damascus pattern
o. Sharping the blade.
o. Hardness and flexible level of the Blade is good so it don't need any heat treatment.
o. I used clear paint to give a glossy look to the burned black wood for handle which enhance the beauty of brass hilt.
o. A sheath (sword cover) was made with gilded metal and wood covered with leatherette.

It's sort of like a "restore and remodel" kind of deal. Because there's no lie; he is restoring the sword. But in the process some things get changed. Maybe he saw the guard and thought it can't be restored all that well or was too damaged, hence the new cast model, or maybe he just had a different idea for it.

I get where people who say he didn't need a new handle are coming from, but you gotta remember, the brass handle has kinda become a staple of this channel, and maybe he just likes brass better aesthetically. Restoring a weapon means you make it good again and keep the design of the sword. It doesn't mean you can't replace parts with other materials.

He probably soaks them in something to rust them, and then takes them out and polishes them,(oh and BTW the scabbard/sheath is also Aragorns). And here's something else, WHERE WOULD HE GET ALL THE RUSTED STUFF TO RESTORE, AT A FLEA MARKET????? And, notice the tang was welded, don't think they had welders in medieval times. He wouldn't be able to find a TON of videos worth of swords and stuff to restore every week, he buys the swords, I'm telling you, I mean sure, he might have a few real restorations here and there, but I mean.......

Let me start off saying you are an awesome smithy, that sword came out looking glories. 👍❤ Now to everyone else in the comments, this is not 1) an Ancient sword, it is a modern reproduction, the screw tang clearly shows that, you could even see where the tang was wielded in the middle; and 2) a Demascus blade, it is most likely a Moran: billet welding sword, which many erroneously call a Demascus blade, however the difference between wootz steel and pattern welding is fully documented and well understood. The simple fact is we still can not reproduce Demascus or wootz steel, which has cementite nanowires and carbon nanotubes through out its structure, and we can't explain how this was achieved.

@@MrSpannners I legit have no memory of making this comment, however my opinion has remained unchanged. The reasons why are almost all about the handle. First the fact that it is a cheap reproduction blade that has some weird af rebar thing and his bizarre two part handle that would be guaranteed to shift and break under regular use conditions, he has essentially made this into a wall hanger. That is what I dislike the most, is he took something that was generally easy to remedy and just went with it and made it worse, he could have easily heated up the part that would be the tang and flattened it into wither a flat sheet or just a solid core and taken a single piece of wood and burned the hole to size then carved around it. And as to your request to see my efforts, I would LOVE to, however I am lacking in any forging equipment, I am however very well versed in the tools and techniques of smithing.
