I'm with you cflmaior. I've watched many bench grinder resto's and this is the first one where there was no attempt to restore and or keep the original nameplate. As far as I am concerned the nameplate is part of the tool and without it it is incomplete and a failure to properly restore. Sure the thing looks much better than it did and you did a great job but again it's not complete without the nameplate.

The bolts are brand new why ?
@bramvandeveire4560
4 жыл бұрын
If the threads of the old bolts are damaged it's better to use new ones to make sure it secures the parts very well. If u would reuse the old ones you would have to rethread the old bolts which means that you make new threads by taking away some metal. Because of that it's not always possible to make a tight fit. That's why he replaced the bolts.

It's a shame that you can see how badly your previous tool makeovers are fairing, they deteriorate very quickly after "restoration" by the looks. Mirror finish polishing clearly isn't a good enough procedure, more needs to be done on future protection, more nickel plating at the very least. Still like watching tho 👍
