Rust Removal - Bring your knife back to life!

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Hey folks, thanks for tuning in as always!
In todays video we're going to show you the techniques we use at the shop to remove rust from knives! I'd recommend watching all the options we lay out before you in this video and use the least aggressive techniques first and only use the more abrasive techniques when needed, otherwise you can cause unnecessary damage to your knife!

How about toothpaste? Vinegar (neutralised by baking soda after)? Or actual rust remover?

Rust erasers are a must have, in my opinion. Very light pressure though. I use them to clean some of my stones and cast iron too.

Great stuff. You should also do a video on how to repair or home make an aesthetic kurouchi finish on the face of a blade by boiling the rust.

Only problem with high carbon steel is the rusting brilliant steel for a knife easy to sharpen and holds a nice sharp edge but the rust is the only thing to worry about but with these tips this should help. I also use Japanese knife oil to look after my Japanese knives.

But I AM panicking! Got a new high carbon fixed blade and noticed a tiny spot of rust on the handle just under the blade. It’s so new and pretty. I want to keep care of it. Hopefully this vid will help
