In this video we explore the farming in rust. We look at the planters, the water pumps, the water catchers, the potato seeds, hemp seeds, the genetics, how to wire everything up and even the sprinkler guide.
RUST farming has brought a whole new level into the RUST experience. I thought it would be an idea to do a complete Rust beginner guide and try to turn you from a beginner to a pro in under 10 minutes (roughly). The farming video is quite fast paced however its really easy to follow as I show you step by step how to set up the sprinkler system, how to use electricity and what circuits work the best when farming.
In the later stages of this Rust farming guide we go through plant genetics and the different meanings of each genetic letter. We go through how to breed each plant and how to effectively create a super crop to help you in your game.
If you enjoyed this complete Rust farming guide please give a thumbs up so i know I'm doing a good job. If you want to see more, please feel free to drop a sub so you can see the other videos when they're released.

Fluid splitter is very useful. You don't always want to have all sprinklers in usage at the same time. Splitters help with that. You also want them if you have multiple water barrels for water storage. I tie up all my gathering tubes into one combiner and then into splitters to even out the water into the different barrels.
that was very good

AniCod i'm struggling with my farm build some of my planters are getting 97% water and some are getting 1% water, but they are all the same set up and position for sprinklers and lighting. I'm not sure what i'm doing wrong but wondered if you have a discord where u post farming info. Love the vids btw great job.
@AniCodYT
3 жыл бұрын
hi :-), they can be a little buggy from time to time. guessing you don't have plants in there yet? some plants use way more water than others, even plants of the same breed depending on the genetics of them. I have a discord in the description of most videos, feel free to nip in, I'm sure we can help :-) discord.gg/MJa3Jkt
I know this video is 2 months old (Thanks for a detailed tutorial btw) but since horses no longer poop, what is the best to use for fertilizer?

Hi thanx, usefull video, I have a question, how many sprinklers should i have for 4 large planters? is 4 enough?
@AniCodYT
3 жыл бұрын
its all down to the amount of water flow youre putting through. I would put 4 planters next to each other to make a huge square and then put 3 sprinklers on the roof where they all meet in the centre. That should give plenty of water to them :-)
if i connect a system up but decide to change the hose connections in some way, how do i remove the pipes without removing the components?
Just watched this and I'm surprised no one mentioned the date. Good video though.
i have a hard time placing my sprinklers properly, any tips ?
Question, can you use water guns to water them?
Just one quick question, said best to set up near river but how do you take water from river to a pump without catchers?
@AniCodYT
3 жыл бұрын
use a "water pump" placed in the river and have it pump directly into your barrel
Please do a video on getting better genetics
@AniCodYT

I'll add it to my list :-)
what if your growing plants in the snow. biome? do you have to heat up the plants?
@AniCodYT
4 жыл бұрын
at the moment its not a good idea to try grow in the snow. Rust are releasing an update with heaters which will help a lot. The temperature is a big part of plant growth
Is the only way to collect seeds from the crops you grow by consuming them?
Why does the intro remind me of halo reach forge
just a question is the server your on public if so does it provide a easy way to understand rust?

If you go on "modded" and type "build" or "PVE" you will find a server where people will leave you alone while you build. its a great way of learning the different parts of the game.
@AniCodYT
4 жыл бұрын
thank you :-)
can u suggest me a nice server to try build and stuff?
how often should you water the plants. after every yield?
@AniCodYT
4 жыл бұрын
it all depends on the plant. If its possible, water the ground to max before planting and you can almost forget about them until harvest :-)
I wish I could play rust console really needs it but that would probably be hard for them to do
@AniCodYT
3 жыл бұрын
rust will be available on console soon, you wont have a long wait :-)
For some reason, i cant make this to work... pump is just doing nothing, even tho it's powered and everything is connected ok, water catcher to the pump input, then output of the pump to the water barell, and the pump its powered from a splitter of a large battery w/o any other connection on it so its fully powered, and thats doing nothing, pump its just not working
@AniCodYT
4 жыл бұрын
the key things are.... pump has enough power (green light when switched on) water input is providing enough water for the pump.. tap of water catcher into the fluid input... output of pump into the top of the bowser.... make sure switch is active.. if that fails, look at the server youre on, some servers bug due to the amount of mods applied to them, they can conflict with eachother. ive had solar panels not working and allsorts. if its vanilla then im really unsure
@bkpolister
4 жыл бұрын
@@AniCodYT i had to place the water catcher and the water barrel above the sprinklers so the water falls with gravity and then pump the water to the sprinklers, for some reason i cant get the water go up even with a pump if the water catcher or barrel are below the sprinklers...
