My favorite thing about creepypasta is how bad all of it is. This shit used to keep me up at night in middle school and it's actually utter trash, I love it.

It's baby's first horror writing. It's just kids used to not post their sleepover/cabin/campfire stories online where we can all see how dumb this thing that seemed really scary when we were also a child and it's 10pm with all the lights out. Maybe I'm just getting old *enough* but at this point I just find it cute, like self-insert fanfic. You keep practicing, ten year old kid. You're not supposed to be good yet, you're ten. But if you keep learning and working, you can graduate to SCPs (which is just creepypasta with a higher skill floor and aimed at teens instead of preteens) and maybe someday your own published horror IP!

@@jessielefey Yeah, like it used to be scary, then fun to make fun of when I was still close in age or slightly older than the writers would have likely been, but now in my 30s it's like "ohhhh yeah it's like when me and my friends used to do horror art and fantasy stories and post them". Like, our work wasn't *good* but some of us kept going and are actually good now and you can see little shades of future not-sucking in our old art

Many of you seem to keep forgetting that since this took place in the Soviet-Union (as it was during WW2 so it was a Soviet experiment though later named ‘Russian sleep experiment’ due to this secretly funded study being revealed after the country already had changed its name) you have to expect it to make sense that the very original source on the internet following its disclosure wouldn’t necessarily maintain very decent English/grammar or writing due where it’s coming from, that being a Russian source. I know this is a true story, it really happened. I’ll start by saying that when a person stays up for all that time they completely regress in all of the worst ways you can imagine- it’s like turning back to the mental state of a child, the longer awake the younger and lower in age you start to act and become, from a teenager to a small child to an infant - And you also become significantly more animalistic to the point of being purely savage, a pure monkey, you behave exactly like a primate or chimp-and becoming increasingly 1. infantile & 2. animalistic -along with the 3rd and final recipe for disaster (becoming more and more until completely beyond *psychotic) - altogether, those 3 things -which all start treading that path higher and higher in intensity as you continue to stay awake longer and longer-makes you’re behavior more and more ‘evil’.my record is 13 days I swear to god it’s extremely easily possible using ice alone, I don’t think it was anything else tbh. This experiment was done at the same time both the Nazis and Japan discovered Ice and starting experimenting with it and giving it people- we all know those 3 countries banded together in WW2 at some point-it makes perfect sense why they All started testing out the substance in their own ways. The pictures from this so called “creepy pasta” being in black and white and the maximum horror seen in that picture is pure horror to most people for a good reason it’s because it’s actually REAL. I know this story is 100% completely real. And the way that ice just literally burns through all of your flesh and soul is done so in a physiopathology that if left to the pure relentlessness and extreme infliction that was done by the Russians in this experiment completely is in line with the ungodly decay and destruction of humanness that is seen in that famous photo. I have stayed up for so many days at a time MYSELF to recognize and be extremely familiar with the sequence of events they described - I have so much esoteric knowledge and insight into the reality of how real all the things are that they say happen when you’re up all the time-at all of the right time markers too it is unbelievably/ uncannily accurate to what I know for a fact is true. I swear I’ve been up for 9 days before, 7 days before, and 13 days before-all of the wearing and tearing and the desire to keep going and going -even going through these fits where you literally LOOK like you’re completely dying, going into shock, seizing, tearing up, violently gagging, choking, & convulsing/shaking until out of nowhere suddenly coming to completely stand-stilled collapse or freeze.. a total stop of all breathing for 30 seconds and more - not blinking or moving any muscles anymore-mouth and eyes left wide open- like you literally just died on the spot before you suddenly start re-animating and repeat a process of agonally dying all over again, in cycles. For seemingly no reason at all.. without even purposely trying to.. your (my) own flesh and skin would start ripping and blistering and bleeding on and from its own self. Then also the intense desire to be spliced/torn/diced/ into a trillion infinite of the tiniest pieces and utterly divided/split into the tiniest possible pieces is completely in line with the eventual self mutilation. Every single detail of this video here without flaw is exactly what I know for a fact happens I witnessed all of these things MYSELF-on all degrees. It took a lot out of me to convey how this story has to have actually happened because of the sheer accuracy of details that are described when giving this chemical in huge quantities so to force humans to stay up as long as possible and know what happens as a result. The reason this matters a lot to me is cause of the freaky part mentioning the need to sleep to keep evil away.. it has suddenly caused me so wonder so much about things than anything else has in such a long time…

This story is even harder to read through with the knowledge that there is actually a rare condition that causes people to be unable to sleep until their body just gives up. Needless to say, people suffering from this illness don’t rip their skin off and paste paper to the wall with their feces, but their experience is still terrifying to hear about.

Personally, I think the story would've felt more real if 1). Instead of the patients smearing their poop on the walls and tearing out their own organs, maybe have the gas to make them hallucinate and make them borderline schizophrenic. Maybe their hallucinations that were made by the gas causes them to feel paranoid and strike against each other or the guards. Maybe they lose touch with reality because of the chemicals from the gas interfering and messing around with their heads. 2). Explain why they are doing this experiment. What is their motive? Is this gas suppose to help keep soldiers alive on the battlefield? Or was it made for a more twisted purpose like torturing war hostages and/or criminals? 3). Take out all the edgy sh!t like them tearing out their organs or them taking pleasure from being operated on fully conscious during surgery.

@Nasir Abdullahi I have "exploding head syndrome" and night terrors. It means that just before I fall asleep, a loud terrifying sensation snaps me awake. I listen to Forensic Files or City Confidential, because the narrator's voice is so, calm and monotone (I need it!). Yes, the subject matter is bad: people murdered, state of the body, method of murder etc, but that TONE the narrator uses! Also, the visuals of these types of shows are so low budget (strobe effect during reenactment of crime by entry level actors), that you are better off imagining your own scenery when listening. This all moves your brain from the reality based things that keep you awake. It keeps you off that path that branches everywhere. You just are led by a dark story until your brain is like "mmm that's enough. Sleep now." Also I take 25mg of Benadryl and drink beer before bed. But I wouldn't recommend that part, unless you're dire.

This creepypaste reminds me of one of my favorite nanofictions from the Nobilis RPG: "If you lock a human alone in a room for long enough-past the point of anger, past the point of despair, past the point where they can no longer talk or think coherently-they begin inventing new methods of war. They begin to create tools and strategies of battle that the world has never seen before. It takes a skilled psychologist to dredge meaning from their mumbles and gibbering, from the sketches their fingernails make against the floor. That is the only secret; that is what makes the great nations great, and makes lesser nations fall. Someone locked in a room, in the dark, without sanitation or company, until their mind breaks; someone to read their heart, and tell the world what transpires there. -from Reflections III, by Viscount d’Armand"

Regarding May's mention of war crimes, Unit 731 is worth reading up on if you want some more realistic Russian Sleep Experiment scares. Also, if you need a little more sunshine during these dark times, a hearty mug of rich cocoa should help. Because cocoa contains high amounts of Vitamin D, which also comes from sunlight. As does Hamon, funnily enough.

I love how, after all the gruesome gory movies she's reviewed, the most unbelievable thing for May is how the test subject can still produce feces without food. It says a lot that non of us find it weird how much they both talk about it, concidering we all watched the "movies nobody should watch" videos. Idk i just find it funny how we normalized talking abt fluids on here

It's amazing how much creepier creepypastas are when read in a spooky, atmospheric way - the No Sleep podcast does this well despite the sometimes laughably bad material. It's almost as if the writing usually struggles to be scary on its own.

The stated goals were very clear it was to test if the substance can be used to keep soldiers awake at war for 30 days straight. It does not even take much to put a few pieces of the right info together and figure it out.
