It's not "All for the vanity of one man." That's just propaganda. There's always been ample support for this kind of stuff among the Russian "people." Remember the Russian "people" initiated WW II along with the German "people." That wasn't just Stalin and Hitler. Many violent nations have plenty of people who celebrate state violence.

The Russians are using assault guns (AK) and machine guns (PKM) with iron sights for aiming at night using the ship’s search light to locate the sea drones. The Ukrainian “Kamikaze” sea drones travels at 90 kph, carries an 850 kg bomb, is low in the water and is painted black for a night attack; it’s no wonder that the Russians couldn't hit any thing!

@@Conradlovesjoy Because NATO _is_ about _Europe (and the waters between the founding members aka the North Atlantic), and it's just a name chosen as it also involves Canada and USA (both founding members). Only European countries can become new members of NATO. Georgia f.ex. is a European country, so Georgia can join NATO if they wish (and fulfill all the requirements). Armenia is not. Armenian is located on the non-European side of the Caucasus, so they can't join NATO. And Mexico, bordering USA, can't join since Mexico too isn't in Europe. Mexico could have been member, like Canada and USA, of NATO only as a founding member in 1949.

They have a search light right there but instead of turning it on and pointing it at the water they ignore it. How stupid!

They did, but the drones have armor on them. And there was more than one drone too, in the full report and the Ukrainian video there were 8 drones, (you see three in the Ukrainian Marines video,) 4 got destroyed by the Russians shooting, one drone hit the stern that you see in this video, then two others hit the side/drove into the blast hole later and yes barely anyone gout out because the main magazine exploded.

Decoy drones are visible and attack on the port side. The other drones attack the starboard and stern. Clever and effective. You simply can not defend it when there are 5 or 6 drones at night. They didn't even have their search lights on and were using LMG'S, what a joke! A US ship would have been using Phalanx or chain guns with 20mm APDS rounds. Automatic targeting night and day.

Future surface warships will probably need to consider bring back 30mm+ guns with low depression mounting to deal with sea drone swarms theats. Alternatively, they could add launchers for aerial suicide drones to intercept the sea drones using visual guidance.
