Wham is an iconic 80s band, so many good songs and of course also by George Michael when he went solo.

George Michael also recorded some jazzy songs. Worth mentioning are Kissing A Fool, Cowboys And Angels or his cover version of the Police classic Roxanne. He also released a whole album in jazz and swing style: Songs From The Last Century.

This song reminds me of some Karaoke nights. Mind you, there was a lot of Jaegermeister involved. 😂😆

I was 14 when this song came out, and I thought it was a joke--I did not know they were serious. But I was listening to The Police, The Ramones, The Clash, the fringe music that was the forerunner to the alt-rock 90's. However, you mentioned Jazz, and Swing is heavily related. So, for more modern artists, I recommend Brian Setzer Orchestra, and their cover of "In the Mood." Or, you could get more classic with that song with Glenn Miller and the Andrews Sisters. Then you got Count Basie, Cab Calloway, Benny Goodman, and my personal fave, Fats Waller. For more recent performers, Harry Connick Jr and Diana Krall come to mind...

Next should be "One More Try" OMV if you want to experience George Michael as an adult performer; Wham is where he started. He has a legendary body of work...

At my age George Michael's "Father Figure" just takes me back to the late 1980's. It is a bit more of a blues feeling.
