I was four years old when it came out so I remember hearing it everywhere but didn't pay attention. Boy bands always got shitted on and for me I didn't see why. Early 2000s when I really got into music , I bought and listened to every song of Backstreet Boys. All of them. This one was my favorite and based on sales and popularity, this would go in a top 10 best pop song list of all time. A few NSYNC songs I thought were good but mainly backstreet boys, eminem and Britney. I'm talking 01-02 . Won't lie , I thought One Direction had a few good songs when they were together. Just being straight up but yeah Backstreet Boys #1 boy band of all time. This song being my favorite. If I'm going out to dance; everybody. Lol

@@fluffylittlebear For a boy "band" I agree. Although I wouldn't call them a band except for alliteration purposes. They didn't play instruments so they're technically a singing/dancing group. Aerosmith and the Rolling Stones are actual bands and certainly iconic.

@@greglegakis4177 Technically they're a vocal group. People call them a "boy band" but that's selling them short. There's a reason all those 90s boy bands didn't last past the 90s, but Backstreet Boys are still going strong. They're all very talented.

BSB is the epitome of 90's music together with Britney, NSYNC etc. and the fact, that their music still vibes with the new generations today, is a testament to their legacy - their music is timeless and most of the adults, who were teenagers back then, can't deny that they sing a long when someone throws this bad boy on 🕺🏻

I can definitely see reason for you to make the assessment that it feels empty. They were a part of a really plastic, artificial movement in pop music around the turn of the Millennium, during which promoters in the music industry would recruit conventionally attractive young men, group them together into boy bands, and have them sing songs that followed a formula that was calculated specifically to sell records to teenage and preteen girls and young women, in pursuit of massive profits for the promoters.
