It is common news among Ukraine troops that Ukraine troops refuse to operate or travel in Abram tanks in the battlefield. These tanks are so vulnerable that no fighters ( even foreign mercenaries ) like even to stand close to Abram tanks.

Abrams are having the same ending as Leopards. Exactly the same.

They sent Abrams to use in summer (2023) offensive. In general they sent 700 different tanks for offensive where Abrams were planned to use at the end, in last reserves, just for propagandistic campaign how “US made tanks enter in Russian Crimea". But after 6 months whole offensive failed, they even failed to reach first defensive lines. All weapons for offensive were destroyed and now even those rare Abrams from reserves.

When they moved them to the front later, two were lost.

Any tank is vulnerable, blow a track and it becomes a static target. Tank warfare doctrine has always been that they never advance without infantry support, (air as well in modern tjmes). Ukraine do not seem to follow that doctrine and Abrams particularly, require a lot of maintenance work to be kept battle ready.

I wouldn’t necessarily say Ukraine had pulled Abrams tank from the front line. It’s more like Challenger tanks were getting lonely sitting in the back of the warehouse in Western Ukraine and were afraid of the dark so Abrams were sent there to make the Challenger feel better.
