It's a shame this video has half the views of Maria's other ones because it's one of the best ASMR videos out there. Her voice and pitch are spot-on, it's super relaxing, and it's also informative.

Wonderful asmr, thank you for the big goose bumps! but to such a phenomenon as Russia it has a very remote relationship, fortunately or unfortunately... How is it that people living at a relatively short distance from each other, know almost nothing about their neighbors except archaic marker representations. In Russia there is a tragedy(it seems it did not stop almost in time). European in their mentality people are in humiliating relative to the rest of the developed world position. Poverty, abused human rights by government structures. And this applies to all,not only living there, because the space of life is one.

Maria your voice is like caramel, particularly when you were talking about the swimming and the holiday. I don't know what was different to my ears about those two segments, but my scalp got super tingly (and that's rather rare for me, as I usually only get triggered in my spine).

Because of this video I looked to see if there was any in my area. I ended up finding The Russian Turkish Bath House and it was amazing. It had so many different rooms where you go from hot to cold. They even had a jacuzzi that pumped salt water straight from the beach! It was an incredible relaxing experience and I plan on doing it after any stressful event I may work at in the future. Thank you for educating us on such an amazing practice, if it wasn't for you I would have never found it

i'm so interested in russia and its culture since im american and we are so indoctrinated to assume russia is the "bad guy" or at least we were. Movies, Tv, etc the james bond bad guy is always stereotypical russian. its sad and ignorant to generalize a whole culture like that. im sure there was a lot of anti american propaganda as well for russian people.. so instead let's actually learn about each other! EXCELLENT VIDEO. now ill probably be put on some red list for my interest but oh well comrades ;)

A free capitalist russia where people can live and think as they wish and buy what they wish is good for both themselves and the world. Unfortunately what has passed was a czarist then communist russia where individual freedoms and rights were nonexistant which was horrific for the russians and awful for the rest of the world. I dont blame or have bad feelings for russians as a whole because the things that created the absolute authority of the czarist state and the crushing authoritarianism and the staggering social and economic failures of communism were largely out of their control.

+CabbitSD It's not necessary. It's just another interesting outward expression of her thoughts and worries about what people might think or comment about after seeing this video. I roll my eyes and say "Oh Kay Mom"... Just because there are some people who make asses out of themselves doesn't mean I need casual lessons in condescending tones every time someone is about to tell me about a culture... I don't know if she would believe it but I found her video by searching for "Russian Culture" on youtube, because I wanted to see videos about how people live in Russia... Crazy right?!

Your public presence and soft and feminine hand motions makes you almost hypnotizing. You make me so proud to share my country with you. There are natural born citizens of this country who had the opportunity to learn how to speak correctly yet still speak like imbeciles so once again, I appreciate your passion for the English language and your openness to learning. I'm going to tell you what I truly admire about Russians. For most of their history, the Russian people have been constantly struggling, and it would seem that life constantly hands these folks lemons, but they know how to make it lemonade... I doubt if 10% of the American population would be able to survive without the comforts we take for granted here, and the Russians and many other people across the world, live without...

  • @leeleel.674

Funny thing is, the comforts we take for granted have only been around for a short time. For most of our brief history as a nation we’ve had countless struggles and managed to overcome them. I think what makes our perception different than other nations is that we have an optimistic attitude that seems almost naive. Like we stubbornly look ahead instead of looking back at what once was.

I had to share that this remains one of my all-time favorite videos of yours - I go back to this one ALL the time! Please feel free to release more cultural videos. I also love your Russian food video and have made some of the dishes for my husband. I still need to make herring in a fur coat - he doesn't believe that it could be delicious but I know that it will. Just wanted to say thank you for all that you do and that I truly appreciate the cultural education :)

Hi Maria! I'm an spanish archaeologist girl working hard in Portugal. My job is soooo tiring and hard, in the field, 8 hours, with cold... But your videos lead me the peace and relax I need every night, when I'm so tired and feel so sad far from my home in Spain. Thank so much for everything, buy specially for your videos about russian culture or language.. as an historician I really apreciate that! Lots of love... :)

Most asmr nowadays is just tapping and quiet whispering. I hope the semi whisper comes back. Its the voice that gives tingles not just whispering

When I first started watching Maria’s videos I spent a few weeks watching them all. That must have been around the time this one was released; but somehow I missed it. I found it several weeks ago and now it’s my favourite - but I thought it was a recent one. I thought how great it was that the sound was less polished that her more recent videos, which no longer give me tingles. After several years of watching them, I can’t seem to get them from videos anymore. It’s the innocence of the action, the unintended rustling of paper for instance, or rooting in a handbag, that makes my head spin deliciously. This video takes me back to that and almost, almost does it. Maria, please don’t be so polished. I love it when you’re natural and more spontaneous. Soft spoken, not whispering or just tapping or some of the odd things people do with microphones, is best for me by far. Take it back to the basics. At least, sometimes. (Maybe a special series of throwback-style, simple videos? I’d love it!)

I really appreciate you making this, Maria. I've always had an interest in Russian culture and society, particularly because it's not exposed very much in Western media. I don't know what ignited my interest in Russia when I was much younger (perhaps that it's so very different to Ireland) but this video has certainly satisfied my desire to learn more about the country. It also provided its most important function: to relax. Thank you!

Amazing as always Maria. It's so endearing how you ALWAYS feel apologetic when you don't have the time to upload a new video BUT, your true fans and supporters would never need an apology because we completely understand that you're a human being with a life, needs, relationships... you need time to be YOU. As a side note, 17:53 made me laugh so hard. Those little ones hitting each other with the.... fuzzy things on their hands. LOL
