Soviet Union was the biggest colonizator in the whole 20th century and on top of it the most brutal one... Russia from day one was all about colonization, underage duke of Principality of Muscovia was without asking anyone claimed to be the Tsar of whole Ruś... The Russian command uses each formation in its own way and even destroyed its own special forces during the first months of this "special operation". Moreover, the formation you mentioned is elite compared to British soldiers, and this is a very low bar, the British are great at admiring their "British" tea and self importance. But when they were supposed to fight the Germans in 1939, they hid behind the Maginot Line and pretended they didn't exist... this was how the British government fulfilled the guarantees given in writing to Polish government. And now Ukraine is also benefiting from similar guarantees given to them by the British in 1994...
