First time russia ja rhe ho toh less than 15 days ki trip bnao. 15 days se jyada ki trip ki bnaoge toh issue ho skta h and you need travel itenary as well if u r staying for more than 15 days.

There must be something really fishy about that person else I have travelled to Europe on Schengen visa on my first trip with a virgin passport and also Russia then after without any query and were very welcoming . Some people get denied only because they sound strongly fishy like not enough funds to travel

I was grilled too (thankfully by a hot woman) in SPB, when I went to Russia for the first time. Partially my mistake I handed over only my new fresh passport to officer, while my older one was 100% filled with visas. Nothing much, she checked docs, cards, cash, and IMEI and let me go. Wasted 2 hours though. In Russia, they go by the book. If rules are followed, you will be fine. Later I found out that she called the hotel too who didn’t give her any info. This might also be the issue with your friend, they do check with hotels and the info you gave them after talking to you. If they had outdated hotel bookings or other plans, that would have got them sent off even if the officer told them they are fine. This is very common with hostels as they hardly store guest bookings before check in and some idiot at reception could have said there is no booking. Don’t fucking book hostels in Russia. But I agree, NEVER talk to anyone at immigration. Indians do that a lot, people travelling from Gujarat to Russia a lot do that often. Even offer you their food. I know it’s rude, but just walk away.

@@sequeirabrian Don't lie at all, have confirmed hotel tickets. If you're living in a cheap hotel or hostel -- call them to make sure they have booking. The reason is a lot of cheap places don't actually have on record the bookings from platforms, they check when you arrive and ask you where you booked. So when the immigration calls they say no. So cross check that they can answer immigration folks. Don't talk to anybody at the airport. They have cameras. When I first went (and the only time I was questioned) almost every Indian who was talking among each other were sent back. The officer even asked me if I knew anybody from the other passengers. Indian men coming in groups is a high immigration risk, and even more if they are convinced that you're lying.

You can contact third party vendors that charge some amount for booking !! Directly contact aeroflot offices they will book the tickets and will be having some fees for booking !!
