I worked with ESM (electronic support measures), ECM (electronic counter measures) and ECCM (electronic counter, counter measures). The USA will eventually give Ukraine methods to counter, the Russian counter measures (ECM). What will take place is a munition will be fired, the Russians will jam its communications, the munition will get a "fix" on the location of the jammer and it will change its target to target the jammer. Good-bye jammer.

While this will work, the issue I see is cost. Using thousands of very expensive guided munitions to knock out thousands of Russian jammers will be absurdly expensive. The jammers are far cheaper than missiles and Russia has Ukraine covered in them.

@@bulldog71ss33 Don't worry, the US government will send you and me the tax bill... They don't care about cost like the rest of us do. A drone can take 3 LOB (line of barring) to get a "fix" on the target. Then, send in a regular artillery shell to take out the jammer. With 3 line of barrings, you get a fix that puts the target in the size of a tennis court area.

when you are a hammer (himars) everything is a nail. i'm sure ivan will not mind we just keep hammering away. one work around on this would be to turn GPS off in urkraine. as russia does not use their shit glonass system and uses the US GPS system, this would have more effect on russia than the US.

It would appear that the jamming is not as affective as noted in this video. Ukraine is destroying many kinds of Russian equipment, oil refineries, planes, and ammo depots everyday. Some of these Russian jamers have been taken out by the very equipment that they are supposed to protect against.
