Russia detains another top general on bribery charges | BBC News

Another senior defence official in the Russian military has been arrested after being accused of taking a large bribe, Russian media has reported.
General Vadim Shamarin, the deputy chief of General Staff, has appeared in court and he's the fourth senior official to be arrested since April.
Earlier this month, President Vladimir Putin removed Sergei Shoigu as his defence minister, and replaced him with the former deputy prime minister, Andrei Belousov.
It was a move seen as an attempt by the Kremlin to boost the army's efficiency and tackle corruption.

In Russia the corrupted are arrested all the time, which is why they have a strong economy and the lowest debt to gdp level in the world(19%). In the west corruption is always rewarded, no one is ever imprisoned or even fired.. which is why our economies become more and more sluggish as we drown in crippling debt.

  • @drscopeify

They are not preparing to fight anyone they can hardly capture a small sliver of Ukraine and anyway Russian economy depends on selling oil and gas to China and India which use that to make goods for the west so Russia depends on the west 100% which is why the west can send any weapon they want and Russia can't do anything about it. The USA can send 300 F-16s to Ukraine to hit Russian cities but Russia can't do anything just get hit all day by western weapons, its a bit funny really. Its like BRICS, they only exist to sell resources to China to makes goods for the west out of it so they depend on the west to exist so of course they will never replace the Dollar it is just a joke. If the west had balls they would send western solders to help Ukraine actually fight the war to take back Crimea and of course Russia would not be able to do anything about it anyway.

The difference in corruption between the West and the post-Soviet countries is that the West believes that they do not have corruption. At least the post-Soviet countries are trying to fight it. Differences: Example - Business gives money to politicians to promote their interests: The West = Lobbying Post-Soviet countries = Corruption. That is, in order to defeat corruption in the understanding of the West in post-Soviet countries, it should simply be renamed lobbying. :)

No one has issues with Russia removing corruption but it is probably false claims just to remove that man from power as he was doing a bad job but the issue is that Putin and his Oligarch friends have stolen oil and gas profits from the Russian people for 25 years which is incredible amount if money it could be trillions. Instead of giving Russian people new roads, new cities and a life like in Norway or Saudi Arabia they took the money and now using it on pointless war and adventures it is a big waste. Money spent on war is a dead end, it does nothing for the Russian economy, making tanks and missiles is a waste it has no future value.

Well Putin himself and his friends have stolen 25 years of profits of oil and gas to their own pockets over 1 trillion Dollars stolen from the Russian people. Instead of building roads, cities, factories, schools and giving Russians a better life like in Norway or Saudi Arabia, they stole all the money to their pockets And are now using the money for a pointless war. So the Russian people should be the ones throwing their leaders out the window.

Yeah that's how Putin himself and his friends have stolen 25 years of profits of oil and gas to their own pockets over 1 trillion Dollars stolen from the Russian people. Instead of building roads, cities, factories, schools and giving Russians a better life like in Norway or Saudi Arabia, they stole all the money to their pockets And are now using the money for a pointless war to play games so Putin can have his name in pages of history, amazing really. Putin and his clown can cry and scream like little babies that they are at some fake war with the west but its all a show, in fact Russia needs the west more than ever before. When China and India buy Russian oil and gas and other resources they do so to make goods to export to the west. Think about it. Also BRICS they all export resources to China and the world to make goods for the West to buy. That is why Russian can't do anything against the west becasue without them Russia has no economy even selling to China is just going to the west by making products for the west. It all links back to the west. Russia can't do anything against it. Just smile and get blown up by western weapons every day in Ukraine, a bit of trap Putin went in to but he is not very smart guy and he is 73 so a bit old so maybe his brain is not that good anymore. Oh well.

I am your sister from Yemen, and by Allah I only spoke out of hunger and distress. My mother, my brothers, and I lessons and tears. We are in a situation that only God knows about. God is sufficient for us, and He is the best disposer of affairs for those who brought us to this situation. By Allah Almighty, I did not write this appeal out of distress and distress. Poverty, O world, they have felt it So, I hope for you. By Allah Almighty, Lord of the Great Throne, he ate what I had in the house. By Allah, my brothers, he is my brothers by sitting in the house. Who has no food? By God, we are in a very difficult situation. We have 6 people entering the house, and my father has died, and there is no one who can depend on us and who lives in it.We live in a rented house because we cannot pay the rent we owe. '''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''' ''''''''''''''''''''''''''''"''''''''''''''''''''' ''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''' ''''''''''''' My brother, my first words are: I swear to God that I will not lie to you or deceive you. I am a Yemeni girl displaced from the war. My family and I live in a rented house in Al-Shahrab 15,000 Yemenis among us, and now we owe 45,000 for 3 months. The owner of the house is one of the people who does not have mercy, by God, my brother. He comes every day, insulting us, talking about us, and moving from the house to the street because we were unable to pay him the rent. The neighbors saw us crying and came back. They came back to talk to the neighbors and we were given the weekend. So we made him swear by God. He will take us out into the street. Have mercy on him and us. Our country is due to this war and we do not find food for our day, and my brothers and I live in a difficult life. Our father died, may God have mercy on him, and we have no one in this world who was with us in these harsh circumstances. My younger brothers went out into the street and saw...The neighbors eat and stand at their door in order to give them bread even if they break it. By God, to whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth, they closed the door and expelled them and came back crying. They are dying of hunger. No one has mercy on them and a holiday is returned. I have made a living, and now if one of us helps us with a kilo of flour, I swear to God, I am dying of hunger. My brother, I am an alien to God. Then, I ask you to help me for the sake of God. I ask you, by God, to love goodness and to help me, even if you can, by messaging me on WhatsApp.On this number 00967736246190 and ask for the name of my card and send it and do not be late and may God reward you with all the best, my brothers Sagar, see how they are and help us and save us before they throw us out in the street, you will be lost or we will die of hunger. My family and I ask you, by God, if you are able to help us, do not be late and may God reward you well..`/--~«««~-♡~♡~♡~~•~,~♡~♡~♡♡♡~~~: ~:~¡~¡~¡~;I.i.i.i.i.i. i.I.|-....!"!'!
