What I do to this kind of rice cooker actually is remove it from the socket and fully turn it off. Because I find what causes the rice to stick to the pan is the warm setting burning the now dry rice onto the hob. Rice stays warm inside after cooking if you keep the lid on and even if it gets cold overnight. Rice is very microwavable to regain that lost moisture.

Have you got any tips? How does the machine know the difference in cooking times between white rice and brown rice or other longer cooking rice (wild rice). thx

@@Carl-Shef1989 hi The machine works till there is water. So difference between the rice is dependant on the rice. Read the package of your rice for instructions how much water you need to put. For example white rice > 1 cup rice + 2 cups water. You start the machine. When the water evaporates it stops automatically and goes to warming mode. It has only 2 modes, warming and cooking Its very easy. I even cooked other (not sure how u call it in English, cereals?) like barley, buckwheat etc.

Thanks for the reply. I done RICE/WATER 1:1 and it turned out perfectly. however with brown rice it was still tough. I will do rice/water 1:2 next time and see. (double the cooking time I guess.@@morski_ludak2239

I'm curious. If you use the steaming plate, and you would like to steam/cook e.g. salmon, or a vegetable that is intense in flavour, does the rice beneath tastes or smells like the things that are steamed above, because the water from steaming drops down through the small holes into the cooking rice? Thanks. :)

Hi, I'm not sure if you've washed your rice off the starch. If so, you can try adding 1:1.5 times the rice - water ratio. Basmati rice usually requires less water to cook. I sometimes put a 1:1.2 ratio while cooking it in a pressure cooker.

You need to mix olive oil with water to stop sticking!
