"They treat the wound of my people like it's nothing!" I have a similar story as the daughter of a Pentecostal minister who lived a double life. My parents and younger sister died one by one decades ago refusing to get help though I pleaded on my knees. How impossible it seemed to survive such a legacy. How can God love me when my parents called me the "voice of Satan" for saying "we need help"! I was punished for talking about what was going on. Forbidden to bring a friend to our home. The wimpy threats "you must forgive" only pushed me into deeper despair. Then is nothing sacred? How do I "honor" my parents who caused me to visibly tremble and from whom I cringed in fear? I can tell the truth with understanding. I can ask God to remove the blinders I inherited ...and encourage others to do the same. When I realized Jesus paid for the sins done AGAINST me also, I wept in relief! I don't have to pay for what they did to me anymore. Or be saddled with it. Russ, the sincerity of your story RINGS out. Thank you!

So touching a story. God will someday make ALL things NEW! He will reconcile all things in heaven and on earth to himself. God's ultimate end goal is so stupendous most of us cannot believe it because we have been lied to by so many, including the religious. My parents in religion didn't really know how to love us 6 kids. All of us have had trauma of one kind or another, but some of us have come to love our parents in spite of what they were not capable of giving us. We kind of pity them now... My Dad, in the nursing home, not hardly remembering things or speak... I can't expect him to know how he could have done better. We just love him as he is now, and pray for him to have a safe journey home to heaven, where God will make him the way he should have been. He will probably give us all a hug in heaven, which he had not felt comfortable doing in this life. My Mom is almost 90, and struggling with her health, how can I expect her to change? We just have to love her as she is, and know that on the other side, she will be beautiful and loving and keenly aware her religion got in the way of truly loving us kids. Best wishes to you.

Someone came to me with a word of knowledge. Don't think much of forgivness. You have forgiven. I could have killed someone or harmed someone. Thanks also to the psychiatry. Taught me to slow down/not be angry (anger management). 😗.

Story of my life Cheryl. I haven't forgiven my father, truly. I've said the words but lack that sincerity to see that monster let off the hook. What is it with religious people that live like Hell? Well, they murdered Jesus... I know God, rich in Mercy, will restore, for His name sake in His perfect timing. I'm going too bible college right now, reading the word a lot. I'm hurt so bad and not allowing myself to trust - even God - because if religious fools continuously trying to shove information down my throat as a teacher instead of being a father, as Russ talked about in this video. I need what he went through and don't believe I can change otherwise. Yeah, good 'ol Pentacostalism The people who need grace the most...

@@snowboardslider24 I see your courage, brother! I've shared your journey up close and personal.. concluding that MANY have a robotic "faith", mechanically mouthing scripture. "They draw nigh to Me with their lips but their hearts are far from Me." They will cave at the FIRST test. We cannot forgive until we face the whole of it raw full throttle, holding nothing back. I loathed those who urged me to mouth a saccharine "I forgive you" while I was still bleeding! I despise church leaders that protect someone in authority from accountability from their abuse of others. How vile and lame to do so "for the sake of the church." “Only a real risk tests the reality of a belief.” CS Lewis

Every man needs a father or father figure to love and affirm him and his ministry. One day while walking, I heard the Lord say to me what I always wanted my father to say to me. “I love you, and I always have. I have always been your Father. And you’ve always been my son. And you always will be.” It broke me and changed me forever.

One of the most amazing voices I’ve ever heard. He is definitely one of the top ten male vocalist because his voice transmits his heart and passion. Russ has an anointing as well as a great voice. I’m so glad he got free and it’s a reminder the power of living in forgiveness through Jesus. It’s also a reminder of the brokenness as many people and our selves.

Alcoholism has hurt so many. I grew up in a big catholic family- Our step father was an alcoholic. He would rage on our mother. I was the only child willing to come to her aid. I was a child, but I would jump on him, pulling him off our mother, as his rage would turn on me and mom would run outside from him. It was hell. The catholic priest knew. I told the priest how he would rage against us all and how I hated him, wished he were dead. Such conflict for a child. I just wanted the violence to end. Ya know? I got to see Russ Taff in concert in 1981, at Bend Highschool. I was blown away!!! WOW!!! Russ Taff is a true man of God. ANNOITED ✨🙌🏼 Thank you, Russ for obeying your call. I would love to sing 🎶 with you! I too am a songbird for Jesus!!! Lead singer for ‘Soul Inspiration’ a gospel 🎶 singing group!!!

How wonderful that we are able to be vulnerable to one another as Believers. Legalism was the primary thing Jesus hated when He was here. He corrected and loved the sinner, but the Pharisees He said made others twice as fit for Hell as they were, themselves. Very telling! God neither loves, nor condones sin, but He hates when we attribute to Him what is not of Him. Lack of loving grace, lack of the need to help and heal one another, focusing on looking good but not looking to God is not of Him.

I was about 23 when I became president of a production company and we had the Imperials come to Woodward Oklahoma in 1983. Paul Smith had taken your place much to my dismay. Like you shared in this video cause me to cry because my alcohol had become food. At 58, I am hoping to finally start singing again. God bless you and love you.

Russ Taff, I love your testimony! I am 69 years old and have listened to your songs most of my life. I never knew what you went through as a person on a day to day life experience, but I knew when I heard you sing I knew you knew the Lord and were not just singing. I found your song on youtube Bethlehem, Galilee, Gethsemane and when I heard it the song spoke to me. I heard it and still do at night. I have been fighting spirits that want to keep touching me and it is hard getting sleep. When I go to bed I know I will deal with the spirits and they will steal my rest. But one night I heard your song all night and I did not have to deal with the spirits any longer that night. I played that song for my wife and she said " That song is anointed!". And when you sing it, you sing it with all your heart! Thank you for sharing this with us! You are my friend.

Why am I here Jesus? What do want from me Jesus? What do you expect of me Jesus? What do you need me to be Jesus? What do you mean me to be Jesus? What plans do you have for me Jesus? What do you expect me to be Jesus? Why am I who I am Jesus? How can I go on Jesus? Why have you chosen me Jesus? Why have you called me Jesus? Why have you created me Jesus?
