I’m sure you’ve done some research, so you now know that the vocalist, bass player and keyboardist are all same amazing person: Geddy Lee. Thanks for showing the Love for the Canadian nerdy rock god trio. Be well, and take solace in the fact that RUSH has multiple albums full of awesome songs. As Ben Kenobi said to Luke Skywalker…”You’ve taken your first step into a larger world.” These three (not 5 or 6, which many people think are manifesting all the complex tunage) dudes will not disappoint you. As a RUSH addict, I’m jealous of what you’re about to experience.

Neil Peart wasn't the original drummer; John Rutsey was. When they auditioned for a new drummer and he showed up, Geddy Lee said: "So he comes in and introduces himself, and he's very animated," Lee continues. "He sets up his drums and … once he gets the kit tuned up, he sits on the throne and he starts playing triplets. And oh my effin' Lord - it was like machine guns. "I had this shit-eating grin on my face, and I was looking at [guitarist Alex Lifeson], and Al was getting a bit miffed at me because I was getting too excited too quickly. I had promised him that I wouldn't make any decisions until we both talked about everybody afterwards. I was supposed to have a poker face, but how can you have a poker face when Neil Peart is playing drums for you?"

Working Man live in Cleveland, 2011. They are well into their 50s and killing it like they're 20. Seeing them perform live will only leave you with more questions. Like, How? How can 3 guys produce this much sound? How many arms and legs does Neil have back there on his enormous kit? How does Geddy sing, play the keys, pedals and bass throughout each song. What planet did Alex, his guitars and pedals come from? You just experienced, IMHO, the greatest drummer, guitarist and bassist ever. Individually. Put the three greatest together in a trio and you have the greatest rock/prog metal group in history. If the greatest bands ever are in the clouds, they are on the Moon! I rediscovered Rush (beyond the half dozen or so singles I heard on the radio back in the day) 2 1/2 years ago and now have 17 of 19 studio albums, and multiple live albums and videos. I spent tons of money and time upgrading my entire sound system just for Rush. I can barely listen to anyone else but them anymore. I'm just grateful I discovered their entire discography and how great this group is before I died. 53 years old when I rediscovered them, hopefully I have a few more years to continue to enjoy their music. I do regret not diving deeper into Rush decades ago and being able to see them live.

Three of the most accomplished musicians that you could hope for in just one band. And Neil Peart Peart, the drummer and lyricist, was one of the most prolific song writers of our time. You might not see eye to eye on his religious beliefs, but his grasp of humanity was strong. They have been my three favorite people since 1981. The music of my life. ❤❤❤ *edit I make a this bold suggestion to you. Find out who these men are/were (RIP Neil💔) as human beings before you go more down the rabbit hole. Watch a documentary made in 2010, by the name of Beyond the Lighted Stage. It will give you a greater appreciation for this band. You'll see and hear stuff you of course haven't seen or heard yet, but down the road as you get through their catalog, you'll be able the reconognize what you see and hear in the documentary. *

Amazon reaction!! Welcome to Rush. Three of the greatest musicians ever, all in the same band!! The bass player is also the vocalist, Geddy Lee. The guitarist, Alex Lifeson. And...the drummer (the GOAT, in my opinion), Neil Peart( RIP). This entire album is epic. You should check out Limelight, The Camera Eye and Vital Signs. See what you think...

Should get a look at them live. It is incredible that three guys can do all of that. Geddy Lee particularly- sings, terrific bass, synths with hands and feet. This song is typical Rush with a killer instrumental break in the middle in which all three of these incredible musicians GO OFF.

Thanks for a legit reaction. I did not mind the pauses and re-wind to catch nuances in the playing. You have a good ear. You have been listening to one of the Best Drummers and Best Bass players in Rock history. You are at the entrance to a very deep rabbit hole. 3 Virtuoso's including a Bass / Drum section that have "one mind" Here are some recommendations of Live tracks to continue your journey and really see these great players in action Working Man - Live in Cleveland Xanadu - Live from exit stage left concert (Look for the Stick Hits version) If you are a bass player you will absolutely love "Leave That Thing Alone" - Live from time Machine Tour YYZ - Live in Rio For an amazing feature of the Drummer, Neil Peart, check out his Drum Solo video Live in Frankfurt.

You would love watching the video for this, it was filmed at Le Studio (the recording studio where Rush did a lot of their albums, it was known as Rush's Abbey Road) and they focus a lot on their playing, that bass riff you loved, they focus on Geddy's hands as he's playing it, and you can really see Neil on drums and Alex's solo.

Welcome to the Rush rabbit hole… ❤ Neil Peart is your favorite drummer’s favorite drummer. Neil isn’t just locked in on time, but he accents what the other guys are doing. He makes what everyone is playing much much bigger. He is the GOAT. And stopping to re-listen is and will always be a Rush fan must do, “I gotta hear that again” is what we do… even after 40+ years as a fan, I still do it too. If you focus on one thing you will experience a whole different song, focus on the drums, you hear some thing spectacular. You focus on the bass… you hear something special. You focus on the guitar, virtuoso… you listen to the singing… a whole different story… that is why we still listen to Rush. Want you mind blown? Xanadu from Exit… Stage Left video… I’m sure I am not the first to say it, but I hope you watch it. 😊

In my humble opinion, the best rock trio, to every grace a stage. They were true masters of their instruments. Drummer, Neil Pearl, may he, R.I.P. One of the greatest drummers to have ever pounded the "skins". He also wrote the lyrics, for over 90% of Rush's songs. Alex Lifeson is still one of the best, lead guitarists alive. Add Getty Lee to complete the trio on Bass, keyboards and lead singer. Had the privilege of seeing them perform live in 1980, during the Permanent Waves Tour. May I suggest the song, "Spirit of Radio", from the Permanent Waves album. Glad to see you have discovered and enjoy the "genius" that was RUSH!

This is such a classic song, and the three members are all extremely gifted on their respective instruments. Drummer Neil Peart (RIP) is widely considered one of the best rock drummers of all time. The lead singer, Geddy Lee, is also the bassist, and also plays keyboards and foot pedals, sometimes all at once! Guitarist Alex Lifeson (who is Geddy's best friend since they were both 13 years old) is an incredible guitarist; whose solos always fit the song and are very emotive. At some point, I suggest checking out the live performance of ''Where's My Thing/Here it Is' live from Dallas, which includes both a bass solo and a drum solo. The song charges full speed ahead the entire time and is exhilarating to watch. Also, Neil writes the band's lyrics, while Geddy and Alex write the music.

Fell in love with RUSH In 1981 with the release of the Moving Pictures album, Tom Sawyer was the 1st single released. I was 13 and my m🎉ind was blown. Then to discover the older albums albums, 2112, Hemispheres, Farewell to Kings, Fky by Night and RUSH(1st album), yeah i was stoked. Saw their '91 Roll the Bones tour. Had a friend who could play alot of RUSH, good old times in high-school. You did miss an opportunity though if you would have watched the official video, which they don't block, you would have seen them performing in their studio that they have in Canada.

Funny watching someone listening to RUSH for the first time, when i have been listening to them since the early 70's, my favorite band and I would say top 5 in alltime rock bands, consist of Alex Lifeson guitar, in the alltime top 10 greatist guitarist... Geddy Lee bass, keyboards, and vocals in the top 10 alltime bass players... Neil Pert drummer and writes the great lyrics to all the songs top 3 alltime greatist drummer, the band was still playing until last year when sadly Neil passed away. they have so so many great albums and songs to listen to, enjoy.... MY SUGGESTION IS TO LISTEN TO "XANADU"

I'm old I've been listening to Rush since 1974, first concert I saw was 1976 and saw them in concert at least a 100 time up to the last one, Neil Peart the drummer was widely considered the best in the world and wrote more of the songs, Geddy Lee sung, playe bass, keys and a few others instruments and Alex Lifeson was a awesome guitarist. Just those 3 dude and they were AWESOME! Sadly Neil is no longer with us due to brain cancer. RIP Professor you opened my eyes to a lot of things.

Congratulations on discovering my favorite band since 1976 when 2112 was released. The song you just reacted to, Tom Sawyer, is arguably their most famous. Before you dive too deep in the Rush rabbit hole I suggest listening to Spirit of radio, Limelight or Subdivisions (The drums on this particular song are outstanding). All three of these songs are from the early 1980's and were quite popular. Most of my personal favorites are pre 1980 especially an album called Hemispheres. I'm clearly showing my age, 66. Excellent reaction though, I really enjoyed it and what most Rush fans already know, how great these three gentlemen are.

First time watching.. I am impressed that the first time listening to Rush you picked up the key and rhythm.. especially Tom Sawyer. This new family of Rush fans you have found will ensure all your questions are answered. As a musician, I believe the drums are the steps we take, the contact with the ground, the hands on the hallway walls, the bass is the weight of that contact, the gravity, and the guitar is the grace of our movement. After a few listens, getting the awe of the music settled, check the lyrics,.. Rush has deep lyrics.. Welcome to the Rush Family! ✌️😎👍💕
