Al's Vinyl Collection is my way of sharing my passion with the world. I welcome all, if you're an avid Vinyl record enthusiast or just a passer-by, come and sit with me for 15 minutes to talk about the golden age of music. A civilised format from a more civilised time.
I do not own rights to video, I do not wish to monetise the video - I just want to react to it to bring entertainment and enjoyment for those watching.

Simply the greatest band of all time! Rush army welcomes you with open arms!
I'm 59 years old and have been listening to RUSH since I was a young teenager. Over the years I've heard many bands. Most I don't listen to any longer. But certain bands like RUSH and Pink Floyd have stuck with me for that entire time. They are what many consider unique and timeless.

This song is about you, young man.
The Tom Sawyer video shows them playing the studio recording back in 1981. Worth a look

Yeah. It adds something to see them play.
If you have the time, the one piece they created that gave them musical freedom is "2112". It's as 20-minute sci-fi story that the music studio didn't want them to do, but they felt passionate about and did anyway, and it was so good (and is considered a classic prog-rock masterpiece) and popular it showed the studio they knew what they were doing. From that moment on, they were able to do anything they wanted. It really is considered a "must listen to" piece. It's passionate and fluid and engrossing and wonderful.

Also it’s good to know what an overture is so you can pay attention to themes there. Seems like most people don’t get that
You're about to become addicted to Rush. You've hit the jackpot for meaningful lyrics.
I love Rush fans. They are always positive, informative, welcoming and generous. Many have seen the band multiple times, have followed the band for decades and might be musicians themselves. A fantastic fanbase as acknowledged by the band members themselves.
Never cared for Rush the first time around (I'm 67), but then I heard them on crappy radios. I've come to appreciate them listening with headphones and watching reactors. Phenomenal musicians.
Neil Peart was rush’s primary lyricist, (pronounced peeert) and his lyrics are very thought provoking, so this is the band for you if you like deep lyrics. He was an avid reader, and actually wrote a few books himself!

RUSH fans are probably the most dedicated fans on the planet. That's a fact. Glad to see another young person experience the mastery that is RUSH. As you shall find out, you never know what you will get from song to song. That is one of the amazing things about this three piece band.
Excellent reaction! Welcome to the Rush rabbit hole. This is a very deep hole. They played together for over forty years. They have nineteen studio albums as well as tons of live stuff. These are three master musicians that are all really down to earth and well grounded. Neil Peart was their main lyricist. By the way the correct pronunciation of his last name is Pier (as in a boat pier) with a T added to the end. Neil was an extremely intelligent and well read man (unfortunately he passed away from brain cancer in 2020). His songs were often based in Sci Fi or Fantasy with moral and political undertones. A lot of his other songs are very introspective. If you are into lyrics you will probably really enjoy Rush. Rush has an amazing ability to vividly immerse the listener in in their music. Neil paints extremely clear pictures with his lyrics and the music is written really to convey the mood, emotion and often the motition Rush is not your typical sex drugs and party kind of band.
I can't help but smile back at a young man smiling the first time he hears Tom Sawyer. Great reaction!
More Rush essentials: Red Sector A, based on the experiences of Geddy's mother as a Holocaust survivor; The Garden, Clockwork Angels Tour, the last song from their last album. Cheers from Canada! 🇨🇦 🎤 🎹 🎸 🥁 🎸 🔥 🔥 🔥
Try Rush's "Freewill" next!
Over the years Rush fans have become known as the Rush army. We are die hards and we love new rectuits.
Rush's career is a journey. You have to start from beginning, it spans 40 years but is very much worth it. They are musical geniuses.
I never really got into Rush when I was younger....I was more into Guns n' Roses, etc. However, my boyfriend is a drummer and he worships Neil. We saw them live years ago and it was really awesome and I have a newer appreciation for them...I had heard a lot of their songs but since seeing them live, I just enjoy them and appreciate them now. I really like Subdivisions a lot in particular. Limelight too.
No other band in the 80s sounded like Rush... None. The Police only wish they were half as cool as Rush!! Stewart Copeland loved Neil Peart. They were good friends for many years... Rest in Power, Professor...
I think most Rush fans just want everyone to love Rush as much as they do, so welcome! 😁
PS the lyrics to Xanadu were written by the incredibly cerebral (Neil said 'I want to read every book ever written) and gifted Neil Peart after a poem by Samuel Taylor Coleridge from the 18th century. Must be the live 1981 version from Exit Stage Left and we need to see you watching it. It is really one of the most amazingly relaxed performances of a song that is in many many ways very difficult to pull off. they do it as if they taking a walk in the park. Flawless.

Yes must watch it to see how amazing they are
Neil Peart said in an interview that this song was the most difficult to play live.
The one thing that is often overlooked. For the members of RUSH, it was always about the fans. There were no egos, they came out every night and gave 110%. They worked long and hard to organically build a huge following. This was because for the majority of their careers they were overlooked and often panned by critics, but adored by he fans who got it. Rush's subject matter delved into many deep subjects, with a little Sci-fi sprinkled in. They are only now finally getting the recognition they deserved. They are the nicest three guys you'll every meet, and they stayed best friends all through the years. Sadly Neil has left us, but not before he left a lasting mark on rock and roll, forever. I recommend your next listen should be Neil Peart Live in Frankfurt (Drum solo). Its a Mindblowing showcase of Neil "The Professor" Peart's skill and technique. while watching keep in mind he was in his 60's when it was recorded.
Rush has an absolutely massive following of fans and they are incredibly loyal to the band for going on well over 40 years now. The band have a huge and very diverse back catalogue of music. Hard to say where to start but Rush's 80's synth era is fantastically diverse. Each band member is considered the most proficient musicians in rock history but Neil Peart is easily the greatest rock drummer in history. Not many people would dispute this, given the longevity of his career and his drumming skills. Geddy Lee is the vocalist, bassist (also considered one of the best bassist of all time) & keyboard player. He is a musical genius. Alex Lifeson is also a massive prof rock axe man on guitar. His sound is very unique, giving Rush their very distinctive sound. Honestly, you can't pile enough superlatives on this incredible 3 piece outfit. They are legendary.
Neil P "EAR" t. Pronounced as ear. Love my home boys RUSH. Thanks for your great reaction. To really appreciate the talent and genius of these 3 musicians you should check out their live performance videos. Neil Peart does an amazing drum solo during their Live in Frankfurt performance.
Tom Sawyer was a young boy in the 1840's that wasn't excepted because he was indifferent. Like the little menace things he did. Him and Huckleberry Finn went down a river(which is mentioned inthe song) and escaped from authorities to get them from taking apples, tomatoes painting a persons fence. They were rebellious. That is what this song is speaking of but a modern day tom sawyer
If you like good lyrics, Rush is a band for you. Joining the band after their first album, Neil took over writing of the lyrics with a few exceptions. Neil is intelligent and very well-read, and that comes through in his writing. He’s either telling a cool sci-fi/fantasy story, or he’s making you think with deep and introspective musings. The songs Freewill and Subdivisions come to mind, but there so many good ones.

Exactly my thoughts as well! Arguably, THE best lyrics of any rock band. Subdivisions, The Trees, 2112, Red Barchetta--all are lyrical genius
As a sound engineering student you should keep going with songs from the Moving Pictures album. I think it's their best sounding album (and many say their best album). You will no doubt dig "YYZ", "Red Barchetta" and "Limelight". And if you like lyrics it does not get better than Neil Pert lyrics. You are seriously about to go down a musical life changing rabbit hole! Can't wait to see more Rush reactions from you.

Also, lyrically, this one is kind of unusual for rush. Neils lyrics are not quite as spacey as Tom Sawyer. He co wrote it with Pye DuBois.

My personal favorite album of theirs is A Farewell to Kings. As for sound engineering... Not my expertise, but from a technical perspective I suspect their last few albums were maybe their best.
You can't go wrong with any of the songs from the albums Moving Pictures (1981) or Signals (1982). But the song that hooked me and forever made me a Rush fan is “Subdivisions” from Signals. Especially if you like synthesizer riffs.

No other song connected with me more than Subdivisions! It was my story as a new kid from small town Maine suddenly thrown into a school of 3000 outside Orlando Florida I so related to this amazing song!
Xanadu Live 1981 from Exit Stage Left will blow your mind. best band ever. Im jealous that you are just starting on an immense journey that will change your life permanently, honestly. You are most welcome into the Rush community. Please enjoy. Take care.
Theres 45 years of great music. They were killing it from their first record to their last. Welcome! If you explore this band there will be many who’ll watch your journey. Have fun with it.
‘Lyrical depth is my favorite’. Uh oh. You’re already in the grasp of the delightful magnetism of Neil’s philosophies. There’s no turning back. Fortunately, it’s infinitely gratifying.
If you’re a sound engineering student, you’re going to love the Rush journey. Their recording career spanned 19 studio albums over nearly 40 years (1974-2012). Their discography is a history in the evolution of music technology for the last half century, including synthesizers, guitar effects, and electronic percussion. Their early catalog is fairly straightforward hard rock, with a bit of a Zeppelin sound (comparisons were always made with Geddy’s high voice). The analog synths give you that signature ’80 sound. Geddy started with a Mini-Moog and Moog Taurus pedals, but also liked the Oberheim 8, as well. In fact, they went through a period in the ‘80’s that featured prominent use of synths (which some fans didn’t care for). All three of them experimented with new technology. No matter how complicated they got in the studio, however, they composed their music in a way they could play it live with just the three of them. The song Xanadu is a perfect example. Check out the live version from 1981 Exit Stage Left tour - it will blow you away how much music three guys can put out. Cheers!
You say you like good lyrics? Well young man, welcome to the Rush army. Drafted 1977 myself. Been a great ride!
I predict a Rush fan in the making. Speaking of lyrics and high-caliber musicianship, I think you're gonna love watching Rush perform "Xanadu" live in 1981 (the tour for this album), which then became the live album, 'Exit... Stage Left'. Neil takes on Coleridge-with-a-twist. I highly recommend the KZread channel StickHits as that dude has taken decades old live Rush performances and re-mastered them in HiDef audio and video. You'll find the aforementioned performance "Xanadu" there. Anecdote time: I saw them on this tour in Birmingham, Alabama, 1981, whilst still in high school. I will tell you they were awesome from start to finish, BUT 1981 is, for me, paradigm Rush ... but I'm biased as they were my teenage and young adult heroes, right during this bright spot in their career. Peace.

Welcome , you will not be disappointed as you travel through the Rush catalog You will never find three stronger musicians, and you will find that they are great human beings also. 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
Geddy is the vocalist , Bass , Keyboard , , An Irish guitarist use to back up Rush and when Rush stat out they backed up the Guitarist his name was Rory Gallagher Alex became very close to him and learnt some of his techniques,
Your comment that you like deep lyrics with meaning means you have picked the right rabbit hole...Neil Peart was a lyrical genius he wrote most of Rush's lyrics and was well read...one of the reasons I love Rush not to mention that all three are musical geniuses welcome to the Rush family!
So happy to see you smile on this song as it reminds me of when I first heard it when it came out ! Check out La Villa Strangiato it’s a amazing instrumental! Studio version.
You really need to see "Xanadu " Live 1981 from Exit Stage Left. It will leave you mesmerised......I watched them on that tour at Wembley 1981and it is still the greatest gig I've ever seen.....and I've seen plenty in 40 years since🤟👍
Great reaction! Welcome to the fandom! I am truly amazed that you are only hearing Tom Sawyer for the first time, since it's Rush's biggest hit, but I'm glad you finally heard it! They are truly one of top of the top Rock bands of all time! The next songs you should hear are "Limelight", "YYZ", "Subdivisions", and "Analog Kid", just for starters. Hey, while I am typing this, I am listening to you discuss how much you love great lyrics. That's great! Neil Peart -- sounds like "P-EAR-t" -- is one of the best Rock lyricists in history! His lyrics will blow you away. Check out the song "Xanadu"! Neil used Samuel Taylor Coleridge's epic poem-fragment called "Kubla Kahn, or, A Vision in a Dream", from 1797, as inspiration for the song Xanadu. The song is about 11 minutes long and it is EPIC! You will love the music -- a 3-man Symphonic band -- and the lyrics! By the way, watch the live version from the "Exit, Stage Left" video! You will be crushed!
Time Stand Still, Limelight come to mind. Damn near everything from RUSH is very good to friggin awesome!
Do Subdivisions next. Same era, synth heavy, very insightful lyrics. Do the official video. Then I would recommend to start on their early more prog. Material where their more raw less refined style showcases their talent.
I appreciate your love for Rush. As it pertains to the drummers last name, it is pronounced like "Peert". The "ear" in "Peart" is pronounced like the human "ear". This was a sore spot with him. I leave this message for you. With all due respect. Best of success.
they are the most humble and noble and profound geniuses and have been my favourite band since the 80's - I now share the videos with my kids; they are geniuses and always the most intricate and well practiced at what they are passionate about - can't wait to dive into Neils books; cheers
I think the welcoming nature of Rush fans is simply a reflection of the band. Not only are they genius musicians (both individually and collectively), but they are genuinely good guys. And for the record (ha), this album was my introduction to Rush 40-something years ago… and yes, I still have the vinyl. 😂
Going down the Rush rabbit hole is life changing. Start with 2112.
So far you have covered their commercial radio songs. 2112 will take you on a musical journey and turn you into a Rush fanatic. It was decades ahead of it’s time.
It's almost as fun watching someone hear it for the first time as I remember hearing it for the first time when I was 13. In 1981.
Rush is a very important man to me. I have been playing in a progressive power trio for 40 years. We were all incredibly influenced by Geddy, Alex, and Neil. We as a trio are nowhere close to being as talented as the three of them. That's why I still watch Rush reaction videos. I love to see other people be impacted by how talented and groundbreaking they were. I don't know if you know this but I'm pretty sure that you do mine now, that Neil wrote the lyrics. Alex and Geddy do most of the arranging. It's incredible that three people can find their space in creating a power trio and to recognize each of their individual strengths to produce a finished product in which they all had an equal contribution. Good luck as you dive down the rabbit hole.! There are hundreds of choices. I recommend that you go to their rock roots and watch working man live in Cleveland. That is a great example of them being totally self indulgent and just slaying at their instruments, all the while, keeping their audience entertained.
As a 40+ year Rush fan and many concerts seen , I appreciate you diving into the rabbit hole … enjoy!
Neil Peart the drummer was also the main lyrist and he was an avid reader. What is also lovely about Rush is they took their music but never themselves seriously. They loved to do comedic skits for their shows and they also had fun on stage. Alex Lifeson could have easily been a comedic actor instead of a fantastic guitarist. He and Geddy met when they were 13 in junior high and became best friends. When Neil joined the band he fit right in. The three of them were best mates. I would suggest Xanadu from Exit Stage Left next. It is an amazing performance. Cheers 🇨🇦
I started with 2112, at a friend’s who, seeing how enthralled I was at the tender age of 12, kindly let me take her vinyl home. I played it over and over, every night for years. After more than 40 years, at least 14 live shows, they are still my fav. I was proud to bring my boys to the clockwork angels tour..I hope you continue with and enjoy the journey..
The album was released on 12 February 1981 so just over a year into the 1980's. Yeah Rush made nearly every studio album/song with the intention of being able to replicate it faithfully live as they were primarily a live band experience. Lyrics: "he knows change is not permanent but change is" very clever. Neil Pee-art (The Professor) was also a published writer in his own right but learnt his craft first writing Rush's lyrics which are by and large packed with clever meanings and references, even the album cover this song comes from has 3 meanings: 3 pictures being delivered to or from a museum; people crying at the pictures which are moving them emotionally and on the reverse side of the vinyl album you see a film crew making a moving picture of the latter scene. Next song maybe Cygnus X1 Book 1 from Farewell to Kings (1977) followed by Book II on the next album Hemispheres (1978). Now they will blow your mind (please bear in mind these songs came out at the height of punk rock in UK). Great reaction.
So many songs to pick, but I’d say NATURAL SCIENCE. you won’t be disappointed.
Neil Peart (The Professor) is commonly known as “You favourite drummer’s favourite drummer “. RIP Neil!
It seems like Rush and Pink Floyd have some of the most fiercely loyal and supportive fan bases
Rush are the best band ever. Enjoy the ride.
Notice in the engineering-- You can hear each instrument, no single one is subservient to another. This is true even when a single instrument is doing a solo. Very cool engineering.
Oh welcome to the rabbit hole. I grew up on this stuff. There’s 40+ years of incredible music waiting. Keep breathing. YYZ, live in Rio. 😉
If you are looking for RUSH videos, start with ones from StickHits channel. He’s remastered a bunch. Rush doesn’t usually get blocked, but he’s trying to introduce new fans to Rush with better video.
I've been listening to Rush since I was 16. They used to play as an opening band and I saw them many times before they released their first album. Subdivisions...
Watch them live in 1981 performing Xanadu! Master musicians!
check out the lyrics of the song "The Trees" from Rush and the instrumental of Rush "La Villa Strangiato", Neil Peart the drummer from Rush Solo r30 in Frankfurt, Germany. Plus the story of side one of " 2112".
Among the many fabulous songs that you will be able to listen to and that have been suggested to you, I have not yet seen The camera eye mentioned. I think you'll like it for the lyrics, and it's very beautiful. The history of Rush is very beautiful, they are undoubtedly one of the best bands in rock history. I am absolutely thrilled with it. Greetings!!
No other band fit so well with someone who didn’t quite fit in as a kid! The impact Rush has had on me cannot be understated, they help me through many tough times in my life! So glad you have entered the amazing world of Rush! Welcome aboard!
3 GUYS THAT SOUND LIKE A 7 MAN BAND, IT'S CRAZYYYYY!!!! 😊
I appreciate you are now on a Rush Journey….I have been on it for over 45years as well so welcome. I know you appreciate the bands incredible musicianship so I have a suggestion. The band cobbled together a bunch of their songs into an epic intro to The Spirit of Radio for one of their European tours. It is epic and a must see for you. It is called “The Best Intro Ever”. You will not be disappointed. Oh and BTW I love watching your facial reactions and smiles as Rush continually surprises you! Welcome to the Rabbit hole.
Hey Al. Just wanted to say I really love seeing you discover and really enjoy Rush. I discovered Rush in 1987 when I was 15. They were the 1st concert I ever went to, when I was 15. I went to keep my friend company, he was a huge Rush fan. That concert hooked me. I saw them six times in 3 years, bought all their cassettes (CASSETTES! 🙄). I just kind of rediscovered them again as an older adult and can appreciate them on a whole new level, the musicianship, lyrics all of it. Through people like you I am kinda hearing them with fresh ears. Ty.
CIRCUMSTANCES.... A FAREWELL TO KINGS.... CYGNUS X-1... Get you some of that! Geddys voice is in awesome form... Welcome to your new fascinating journey kind sir!
My best friend introduced me to Rush in the summer of 1977 with The Fountain of Lamneth on the album Caress of Steel ... the following Feb, she was dead ... Rush has played the music in the background of my life ... there will never be another band like them - - So glad you have started reacting to them ... The only difference I hear between the original and the remastered version is the clarity, the older version was less 'crisp' maybe - - Rush keeps going with the synths until 1987's album Hold Your Fire, so you have 4 or 5 albums of synth to enjoy
RUSH army here! Glad you enjoyed the song. You have many more to go, my friend. 😎
Welcome to Rush! Great reaction! Hard to believe that you thought a Rush reaction would be a throw away video. Too many people in the Rush army to let that happen!
Listen to 2112 the whole album, (which was their breakout album, the record label was telling them what to sound like and the length of the songs, they decided to stay true to themselves and the music and that they would rather go back to working regular jobs than do what the record label wants) digital man, entre nous, natural science, the list goes on and on.
2out of three RUSH! Not bad. Red barchetta next!!!!

Welcome to one of the greatest Canadian contributions to the arts , as a Canadian myself whom at 57 is beginning a rediscovery of rush having been a teenager in there hey day but was really only exposed to them on radio or at a party on Saturday night ,I tended to lean a little more metal , priest, sabbath , ozzy ,I now have heard some older and deeper tracks Xanadu needs to be at the very top of your list it will truly be the the most amazing 11:00mins you will not believe how fast that time will go by as you will swept up on the most amazing musical journeys ever in your whole life it is with out a doubt a masterpiece 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
Canary Islands 🇮🇨 🏝🌞in the building. Enjoying your reax 👍
Try Natural Science from Permanent Waves. Not only are the lyrics deep, humanistic and current very relative but the music is astonishing in its complexity it is as always stunningly well played. listen to the album first version so you are not distracted by the visuals. It will truly stun you. You are already part of the Rush family because of your honesty.

Yes. What a song. The meaning … can change your perspective of the cosmos in just a few lines accompanied by some compelling music.
Enjoyed your reaction! Indeed, Rush fans are a special bunch. Not to inundate you with too much "comment", but yeah if you're looking for meaningful lyrics - THIS is a band for you. Neil Peart (pronounced like 'ear') was the lyricist and he drew from multiple sources. He was very much a poet at heart, and came by it naturally as his brother is, in fact, a poet. 'Tom Sawyer" in particular tho was co-written with the lyricist named Pye Dubois for the Canadian band Max Webster. Pye had sent Neil the lyrics for "Louis the Lawyer" and Neil re-worked it into "Tom Sawyer". It is, as he put it, an attempt to "reconcile the boy and man in myself". Glad you enjoyed the song! If you decide to follow Rush's career to it's fullest, you'll find Neil's lyrics to be insightful, human, meaningful and often poetic, allegorical and metaphorical throughout their 40 year career. Enjoy!
Once you go down the rush rabbit hole there's no going back
I really enjoy your analysis of the songs. You obviously put some thought into your reactions. 2112 will blow your socks off. It is a musical masterpiece. I’ve been listening to Rush since the 70’s and seen them live dozens of times. If you do react to 2112, look into the story first. It will enhance the experience.
Welcome to the Rush rabbit hole, we saved you a seat! I loved watching you enjoying something that I love! Try Natural Science if you like lyrics. The switching between time signatures is amazing too! Cheers!
Three songs from three different eras: By-Tor and the snowdog (1975), The weapon (1982), Headlong flight (2012).
Rush is freaking Awesome!!! 3 man band that sounds way bigger.
I have always said 'ZZ Top is a 3-man band, that is good, but sounds like a 3-man band. RUSH, with 3 members, sounds like an orchestra'. If I may make a suggestion, especially when it comes to RUSH (if you already do this, I apologize in advance for this) please have the lyrics available. The words to Rush's songs, the ideas hidden within, are as deep and meaningful as the music. Because changes are permanent, but change is. (Edit, since you asked for a suggestion, I was at the end, I would have to say 'Freewill' again for the lyrics).
Rush have many lyrical masterworks, but I'd recommend listening to 2112, an epic story in which Geddy sings both parts of a conversation in entirely different voices!
I recommend reading one of Neil's books. I just finished reading "The Masked Rider", a day to day journal of his bicycle tour through East Africa. The landscapes, the people and culture and dealing with military blockades
If you want to have an idea of Rush influence. Watch their induction into the rock n roll hall if fame. The best ever crowd and musician reaction ever when they are announced by jann wenner. Epic
Tom Sawyer is a amazing book
Hi Al - I'm just another old time Rush fan (saw them 3-times late 80's, early 90's and 2004). I love these Canadian rockers and the more you learn about them, the more you will like and appreciate all three. This song has an official video that shows them recording it. Many other reactors do that one and it helps get to know who does what in the band and how. It is simply amazing that you watch that video and think, "how can they replicate this live?" And then you go see them and just get amazed even more.

For a time I was going to see Rush every tour. Had a hard time with the tour for Roll The Bones. Living in NY, going to school in Detroit. I was in the wrong city at the wrong time. They added some dates and drove to Hartford Connecticut just to see them.
The next step is to see these guys live. I recommend Working Man Live in Cleveland it really shows off what these 3 can do on their instruments. I also recommend YYZ live in RIO (this is an instrumental but that does not stop the audience from singing along). This was my favorite band growing up as a teen in late 70s early 80s and I still have their music on Vinyl.
Just fukin do it !! MT Rushmore rock n roll !!! 😎
Remember hearing this track, and a few others from Moving pictures on the Friday night rock show with Tommy vance (a British radio legend),just before the album was released. As Rush always did, they never stood still musically, and this was a different sound from Permanent waves.
Rush is here because of people like you! This is the only band that made me work at being a better person. I've said that so many times on KZread, it's truly disgusting.. but it's true. A few of my favorite? Natural Science, Anthem, Between the Wheels, 2112, LaVilla Strangiato... different eras (mostly, lol). Enjoy! Welcome to Rush!!!
"I find it so much more fun to form your own opinions." That sentiment seems to have been lost by far too many.
Rush is nothing short of phenomenal. Rock n roll would not be what it is today without them. They shared it and influenced so many other bands. You should go down the rush rabbit hole fir sure.
