RusH is composed of 3 compulsive perfectionist, and genuine good people that do not have any the ego trips that have lead to the demise of many successful bands. Truly GREAT musicians that are also truly great friends.... Resulting in some of the cleanest, tightest most amazing music ever made.

Spirit of Radio is arguably their most popular song. They are all three master musicians. Remember, Geddy Lee not just sings but plays a killer bass and does keyboards. Alex Lifeson is just a superb rock guitarist who is supremely underrated. Yes, George and Patrick, delve into these lyrics. They are uplifting and cycnical at the same about the love and accessibility of music to the masses but how the industry also can be so suffocating and demanding. You must check them out live - Rush in Rio etc.

You won’t be disappointed doing more Rush. They have a very deep catalog, and went through many style changes throughout the years, but they were always unique and progressive. I think you should do Xanadu live from 1981 Exit Stage Left tour. You will see how they all play multiple instruments to make 3 guys sound like 6. Geddy plays bass, keyboards, rhythm guitar, and synth pedals with his feet - and he’s the singer! Neil is a one-man m percussion section, playing chimes, wood blocks, tubular bells, and glockenspiel, in addition to drums. One of the most incredible live performances you will ever see from three guys. Cheers!

Kudos to whoever did the animation! Very creative! Rock and Roll Radio was free for everyone, and it's simplicity made you feel so good. Radio isn't the same today. The music is just filler in between commercials. Kids learned about all the new music, artists and Bands in the 50s & 60's, from dj's like the Legendary "Wolfman Jack". But A.M. radio wanted artists to stick to 2-3' songs that were commercial and radio friendly. When Rock moved into the F.M. format, it changed everything, especially for bands like Led Zeppelin or Pink Floyd, who no longer had "time constraints" on how long their songs should or could be. Unlike A.M., F.M. was in STEREO, and sounded pure and clean with "no static at all...efff emmm! So you could listen all evening long with few commercials, and a dj might play ALL of DARK SIDE of the MOON, etc. Today, tech let's you select individual songs whenever you like. Back then, we were waiting for someone to play it for us...especially if you called in to the "request line". So Radio holds a special place in the hearts of us old timers! 🇨🇦🍁🇨🇦

I also know that their drummer, Neil Peart, who sadly died in January 2020, was definitely one of the best - I've watched him on KZread and he was phenomenal, in fact I've watched him a few times doing a long drum solo and it was great. The transitions in this song is the sound effect of turning the radio dial to a different station. THAT'S why there are so many different sounds. Back in the day, we had to manually turn the dial to get to the next station. Hence, the different sounds. You should react to Red Barchetta. They actually make the sound of a car in the middle of the song and remember, there are only 3 members in this great group.

I didn't actually notice this when I watched your reaction the first time, but on watching it again I noticed on the video a ship which had pirate radio written on it and flying a Union Jack - gosh, that takes me back. We had Radio Caroline which started in 1964 - there was no one else really playing the music we wanted to hear so we all thought this was wonderful. When Radio 1 started on the BBC in 1967 a lot of the DJs from Radio Caroline transferred there. There was another pirate radio ship called Radio Scotland which started in 1965. I love that video - it's very cleverly made and yes, you're right, that does not sound like just three people in that band, and I do think now, hearing the song again that I have heard it before - it's great.

That passion and intensity that was coming out of these guys is always coming out of these guys. Rush is my favorite band, by miles. I think they are the greatest band of all time. If you wanna watch them live La Villa Strangiato or Xanadu live Exit...Stage Left version. Enjoy the Rush rabbit hole! It's a great ride! Thanks, guys!

My favorite band ever. Not only are these 3 guys super skilled but their songs are full of wit and soul. They have one the most honest attitudes in the music industry, they seem like humble, funny and wonderful blokes and their strong friendship is the key to their longevity. RUSH won't record anymore since Neil "the Professor" sadly passed away but their legacy, art and music are eternal ❤️🎸🥁🎹🎤🎶🎵

RUSH is one hell of a cool band! Always was, always will be... No matter what "haters" of the band over the years think or say! Watch "Xanadu Exit...Stage Left 1981"! This is a great example of a 3 piece sounding like a modern electric futuristic Orchestra, save the dated synth sounds (wich I love)..

YYZ Live in Rio is a must, but for my money, La Villa Strangiato, the studio version, is their best instrumental; so hard to pick a favorite song though, their catalog is so deep......

I've only liked Rush for 45 years or so and can only speak for myself, but I feel my appreciation of Rush music has grown from (eventually) isolating the different instruments randomly, countlesly, and then seeing how, in their own way, in so many ways, they combine to produce such uniquely rich and timeless music.
