They have a number of instrumentals that are fan favorites. La Villa Strangiato is one of their best and really shows their talents. I’d suggest giving that one a go. Also, the live performance of Working Man in Cleveland 2011 will show you how these guys close a show - absolute shred fest. Cheers!

Great reaction and Welcome to the Rush Rabbit Hole! They have over forty years of original music. In addition to their other songs Rush has done several amazing instrumentals over the years. I will list some suggestions below of live performances you should check out and some of these are instrumentals. 1) "La Villa Strangiato". Check out the official video it was recorded on a closed stage in a single take. 2) "Xanadu". Check out the live performance from the 1981 "Exit Stage Left" tour. 3) "YYZ". People normally react to the version from live in Rio which is great however, you should really react to the 1986 live performance from the "Show of hands tour". There is a You Tuber called stick hits that has a wonderfully digitally remastered version of this performance. 4) "Natural Science" - 1997/06/30 - Molson Amphitheatre, Toronto, Ontario CAN 5) "Working Man" - Live from Dallas 2011

The stagehands you saw in the video were part of the stage show for their final tour (R40). The show started with their newest material than went backwards through time, ending with their first album. The stagehands would adjust and alter the stage so that it looked like it did during the various periods of their career. For other recommendations: another instrumental that's short and really fun is "Malignant Narcissism" from the Snake and Arrows tour, "Headlong Flight" from their Clockwork Angels album (studio cut) is one of their last and most energetic songs, "Working Man" from the Cleveland Time Machine show is pretty awesome, "Xanadu" from their Exit Stage Left tour is a very old one from the 70s that is prog heaven.

The Main Monkey Business is off of Rush's 2007 album Snakes & Arrows. I have some more Rush instrumentals to suggest. Since The Main Monkey Business is the last instrumental they ever recorded, I will list their others in reverse order: LIMBO of off their 1996 album Test For Echo, LEAVE THAT THING ALONE off of their 1993 album Counterparts, WHERE'S MY THING? off of their 1991 album Roll The Bones, YYZ off of their 1981 album Moving Pictures and finally LA VILLA STRANGIATO off of their 1978 album Hemispheres.

Neil's drum kit was made out of a 1500 year old oak found in a Romanian bog.Along with that everything gold plated.Not a bad kit lol.

I think most Rush songs will make you comment on the bass. Geddy is just one of the best. He’s able to weave a great deal of melody and counterpoint when still holding down the bottom end. His tone is awesome - a little bit of growl with boosted mids really cuts through in the mix. I don’t know how he can play such complex parts while singing, and often he is playing the synth pedals with his feet at the same time. Check out Xanadu live from the 1981 Exit Stage Left tour to see the multitasking madness he can do. These three guys sound like six.

Great reaction. The instrumentals are truly fantastic. A person could literally spend hours listening and they’re all so different. In my opinion La Villa Strangiato is their best. Please check out the studio album version. It is sublime.
