Hey, I’m Southern too….Southern Ontario, Canada, and don’t worry, it was decades before I knew the proper way to pronounce it. I never really appreciated Rush in my youth but my appreciation grows greatly as I age. The same thing applies to a lot of other musicians that I would have ignored or rolled my eyes at in my youth.

I was just enjoying, and boppin' along with the beat, and then at 2:43, the added effect kicked in, and my ears "perked" up. I don't know what you call that, but I always think of it as "coffee perking," as in the OLD days, out camping, and the morning "joe" starts bubbling, you know? My dad used to make the BEST camp coffee, and when I hear that effect, it always reminds me of those days. This is fantastic! I have nothing but DEEP admiration for you drummers!! I ALWAYS think of the drums being melodic! For me, if the drums AREN'T melodic, I'm usually going to abandon ship pretty darn soon! At 10:40, OH, MY GOSH! I didn't think the smile on my face could have gotten any bigger, but...WHOOOO!!! I had been watching the concentration on his face just before that. WOW!!! At 12:26, the added little "conversation piece" dropping in just tickled me pink! 13:38 when you gave the info about the electronic part kicking in. YES! SO GOOD!!! Then the little inserts of the dancers. Don't you EVER apologize about "breaking in" on something like this! Your input is totally invaluable on stuff like this. Throughout this part, I'm finding myself typing to that perfect, rhythm, that just.......pulls you in. When he goes back to the acoustic, and then SPEEDS UP, FOR CRYING OUT LOUD...!!! I'll tell you what, who in the heck NEEDS electronic stuff? WOW!!! Then he took us to the jungle! (Not to mention a little more bubbling coffee!) THEN THAT FINALE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! CHILLS through the whole thing. Thank you VERY much...ESPECIALLY for all of the little bits of input you added, regarding his artistry. Just Fantastic, all the way around. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! 🤪😯😲😵‍💫🤗🥰🥰🥰

You nailed it Linda! I know exactly what you mean with the nod to “coffee perking!” 🤣 I have never used that term but I am going to steal it! What’s crazy is I used to watch this drummer so much when I first started playing around 14 years old and study his every move. He is truly one of the greatest of all time! Sadly, throughout his life he had many obstacles. I think his daughter died in a car wreck and then a few years after that his wife died. A couple years ago, he passed away from what I believe was brain cancer. We never know how much time we have on this Earth that’s for sure. We are all just passing through! Glad you enjoyed the video and have a blessed day! 😁

You said it - it's a blessing just to be able to watch them!! They were my first concert back in 1981. I was 13 and had no idea who they were. I just wanted to party. And party I did. This was back when smoking cigs was allowed everywhere, and the devil's lettuce was all over the place too. I was tokin with people that would be in jail if they passed a 13 year old that stuff today. It didn't stop the whole show. It seems that someone would light up and just pass it down the row. And then someone else would do the same. Front to back, side to side.... Whao, I was toasted. Sadly, the thing I remembered the most from the show was how nice everybody around me was. No one tried to kidn*ap or r*pe me - that wasn't even a thought back then. I had a great time and Rush gained a fan for life. I went out and had to buy an album to see what I missed from the show. 🤣🤣 I think I bought Hemispheres first, and then some time later, (after I hoarded my lunch money for a while), I bought Moving Pictures. Still, my fav album from them. Rock on, brother. Love hearing your technical expertise on these three amazing musicians! 🤘🤘

This is not a live video. I'm very familiar with nor the tour. As by the 90s, my tastes and rush had separated to a degree that I wasn't buying their albums. The second they came out. However, I still love them and saw them on this very tour is a matter of fact period anyway, Neil is freshly back from his lessons with Freddie Gruber. Which accounts for the dominance of his? Articulation and utilizing traditional grip, more than he had ever in the fluidity of his plane has taken on a bit of a round circular nature by his own definition, as in he stopped, thinking about notes as linear and a row and more about how they relate to each other kind of in an orbit. Which is a cool way to look at timing. Actually anyway, cool reaction, man Cheers.
