To hear kids rockin' out to Rush, and not the growling metalcore kids today call music, brings tears to my eyes. Mr. Teel - no one can be Neal, but you done a damn fine job - simply sublime!

Ethan convinced the Kansas City School of Rock to do a Rush show, that they were ready, and that they would work hard to pull it off. I was happy to be there to capture it ... especially since I had spent the previous week in the hospital and only got out that morning.

Thank you. I am glad you left it in. These young artists have chops. Glad they pushed themselves to play this. If you don't push yourself, you will never know what you can accomplish. And nothing as satisfying as having played a great show.

That is the purpose of the School of Rock - to supply young musicians with not just the skills, but with a goal, a place to practice, experienced musicians to teach them, but also the opportunity to mentor younger players as well. I have over a thousand videos up here and have been doing this for nearly a decade, and have seen kids become confident, well-rounded musicians.

miconis123 The drummer lobbied really hard to do a Rush show, so he had to bring it when the Music Director of the school finally agreed. It's not whether they can do a song perfectly, but that they are trying to reach that level. And it's astounding how often they succeed.
