I met Mark Rolston (FBI Agent Warren Russ) a couple of years ago. He told me that after they finished the first movie, Jackie Chan hired out the Planet Hollywood restaurant (I don't know which one) so that all the people who worked on the movie could have a party. Mark Rolston brought his family with him and said Jackie was really nice to them.

There are outtakes after nearly all Jackie Chan's movies. Rush Hour 2 and 3 are good as are Shanghai Nights and Shanghai Noon and Rumble In The Bronx. For Jackie's own films (watch the subtitled versions and not dubbed) there is Police Story, Project A, Drunken Master 1 & 2, Armour Of God, Who Am I? to name but a few. Then there is Jet Lee in Fong-Sai Yuk (Legend) 1 and II.

I really don't get the craze about subtitled versions over dubbed. Are your dubs really that bad that you'd rather miss half the action by reading subtitles? I get preferring original voice over dub, IF you understand it. But otherwise I'd rather have someone translate it roughly in time with the actors rather than getting distracted by reading subtitles.

Rumble In The Bronx (1995) was Jackie Chan's first film introduced to US cinema, but it was dubbed. He first appeared many years earlier in an 80's Cannonball Run movie but they refused to show him but in only a few scenes. Because of that Jackie Chan lost hope in becoming a star in American Hollywood movies, so went back to Hong Kong to make his own movies, which proved he can be a great star and movie maker of his own. Even the director of Rush Hour, Brett Ratner said he felt intimidated by Jackie Chan who had produced well over 30 films on his own. Thankfully Brett Ratner allowed Jackie Chan to introduce ideas into the film which helped.

Jackie got a job in CANNONBALL RUN II, 1984, and there have been bloopers in Jackie's movies since. We're they there before? I don't know. Jackie running up walls is my favorite. As he aged, he has done it less. I'm guessing It's that Father Time and gravity thing. He's damaged himself seriously several times, but the show must go on. Thanx for another fine Wak job.

Movy with really amazing stunts... Hmm ANY movie with Jackie Chan and his crew(he is have his own stunt crew, and he does an insane amount of takes to get it right). Jackie always uses props on the site for the stunts and it is really nice to watch. Also Jackie's team was working more under different laws when it comes to stunts, today these stunts where not allowed to be made in hollywood as they are too dangerous according to Hollywood. Drunken Master 1 and 2 are both more physical comedy by jacky. He was actually stunt man for Bruce Lee, and after Bruce death he got bad reviews as a Lee replacement, so he started doing the opposite of what Lee would have done. So instead of a kick to knock someone out he went for a low kick to make them fall and went into a lot more comedy rather then being brutal in his fights. Any other movie where stuntmen are the actors usually have great stunts in them. Tony Jaa, Donnie Yen, Jet Li, Bruce Lee and Michelle Yeoh to name a few good stuntmen that are known for it. Jackie Chan on graham norton show talking about his meating with the queen is funny.

Over the years I have seen some stunts of his that turned out so bad it is a miracle that he is still alive. 3:24 You cannot detonate C-4 by shooting it. This is literally why soldiers carry it instead of other explosives - it won't accidentally detonate in a battle if stray bullets hit it. Maybe that was not the C-4 exploding. Maybe it was the car's gas tank. Except, bullets don't make gas tanks explode either. So unless they had something like nitro glycerine or maybe old sticks of dynamite in there too, there really wasn't any way to shoot the car to make it explode.

I'd agree that it's highly unlikely and one certainly shouldn't hope to get that effect on the first shot. However, with the amount of bullets Carter fired into that car, I'd say there is at least a possibility that he hit some electrical stuff, creating sparks and setting of a small chain reaction leading to this endresult. So, unless you can disprove that with certainty as well, I'd say it goes from absolutely impossible to impossible to predict and unlikely to happen, which is totally what movies are about.

@@lukasr5867 This has been tested and debunked. There are many videos on KZread, including the famous one by MythBusters. Liquid gasoline is not flammable. Gasoline vapors are. In fact, you can throw a match into a bowl of gasoline and the match will just go out unless there are vapors in the air above that ignite before the match is put out by the liquid gasoline. There are many videos of this. The gasoline in a car tank is liquid. It's not vaporous until it the carburetor mixes it with air and then this mixture enters the piston cylinder. Theoretically if the care is moving and bouncing around and the gas tank is, say, only half full, that jostling could produce vapors and a bullet might be hot enough to ignite those vapors. This has been tested. Bullets are not that hot. However, gyrojets and tracer rounds are that hot, but then all they do is create a fire, not an explosion, because gasoline only explodes under high pressure - that's what the pistons in the engine actually do, pressurize the gasoline so it can explode. This fire will burn, not explode, the rest of the gasoline in the car. This has all been tested by government agencies like the NHTSA as well as independent groups who wanted to do some fun "science". Finally, C-4 is not flammable. So even if Carter had gyrojets (he didn't - they leave a visible trail that was not seen in the film) and ignited gas vapors, the ensuing fire would not blow up the gasoline or the C-4. Sorry my friend, Hollywood and video games have been misleading you for years.

@@blakewalker84120 "My friend" you are not telling me anything new here. And you're not at all saying anything against my original argument. You're attacking strawmen. I never even talked about any gasoline ignition. I talked about electronics getting hit (e.g. the backlight), producing sparks. I also talked about chainreactions, not just A ignites B and boom. There was a lot of shaking, there was a lot of stuff in that trunk, including (presumably) the actual triggers that one would usually use to set of the C4. And most importantly, I talked about it being a 1 in a million (or whatever large number you want) luckyshot / lucky set of shots / lucky chain of events. As I said right at the beginning of my original answer, I totally agree with you that you could take any number of shots on a car without any explosion happening. All the experiments you mentioned could only ever proof, that it wouldn't normally happen. No experiment can ever proof that something can absolutely never under any circumstances whatsoever happen. Just like no experiment could ever proof that something would 100% always happen. For that you'd need a theoretical proof that no combination of materials and environmental influences present in the situation could ever lead to such a chain reaction. And until someone delivers such proof, I'll stand by what I said before: You're right in 99.999999% of times, but movies are all about what happens (or could happen) in that tiny fragment of a percent of other times.

It just needs a lucky moment for all the parts to fall together in the right way (at least I suspect so, and you haven't yet done anything to disprove that). As for the second part: Maybe you shouldn't watch Actionmovies, if explosions bother you so much. Maybe then you'd notice that there is a whole world full of non-exploding movies out there ... From Jackie Chan I really like „Armour of God“, but he was seriously injured during one stunt. While it looks so easy in the movie, the outtakes show that he is human and it still takes lots of practice. For physical comedy Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton come to mind. From Chaplin „Goldrush“ is one of my favorites, and from Keaton the most well known one is probably „The General“. A bit newer than these silent films is „Les vacances de Monsieur Hulot“ by Jacques Tati. While the protagonist only says his name once in the movie, it also features some sound gags in addition to visual comedy. The music can be a bit repetitive, but as Roger Ebert once put it: This movie feels as if you go on vacation to the same place and meet the same strange people all over again.

That hurts my stomach so much X-P But hold on, what language were you talking about? Polish? Chinese actors had the social pressure to do the stunts all by themselves actually (not sure about now). So, the acting looks very much real. The raid has the actor doing their own stunt. Also, John wick. Tom Cruise has done the stunt by himself as i heard.

4 parts of this movie that really make me crack up laughing are: 1. When Carter starts dancing like Michael Jackson in the middle of the street after blowing the car up 2. When Lee and Carter are bonding and practicing disarming techniques while Edwin Starr's song "War" plays in the background 3. When Carter says "I know that ain't the bomb. Get that bomb away from me." Towards the end 4. Carter picking a verbal fight with the elderly Chinese cook And trust me, the blooper reels for the remaining two movies are just as funny when it comes to the slip-ups with the dialogue.

Naked Gun has some great physical comedy. Shanghai Noon is basically Rush Hour but with Owen Wilson instead of Chris Tucker and it's set in 1800s wild West. Super Troopers and Ace Ventura films kinda fit that category as well.
