I have this strange feeling that Rush's music and Neil's wonderfully written songs will become more popular with future generations. They were so ahead of their time. "The New Guy" will be eternally missed.

I totally agree. They have never been part of the mainstream, however I believe their music will live on while other music will be forgotten. There was always something special about Rush that separated them from all other artists. They were truly masters of their craft. They were the musicians musician. RIP Neil Peart.

I give them endless credit for putting out an album that broke all the usual rules of progressive rock and still made for great songs and for so much radio airplay. I believe they also achieved that with Hemispheres, The Trees being a great example of an accessible yet still very progressive song. How many other bands aside from Yes were able to pull that off?

One of the many favorites from Rush. Alex’s well crafted chord solo’s, arpeggios and melodic playing really stands out as to how he’s one of the best all round guitarists. just watched VH1 Rock Docs last night and saw Rush. It was awesome. I am 51 and to me, the good old days are Rush. I am one of many ladies who get Rush and will always get Rush. However I do love the old Rush the most. It just doesn't get any better than that. 2112 is the best. I still have all the old tunes on vinyl. Rush has never been given the credit they deserve. Getty's voice is an aquired taste. ROCK ON RUSH :)

This is such a beautiful song and masterfully written. I first heard this song on the 2007 Snakes And Arrows tour in Toronto (...I got a bit of a late start to getting into Rush.lol). This song has such a profound effect on me and I don't know why. Beautiful is the only word I can describe.

Watch "Beyond the Lighted Stage" to really get a grasp of this band. To me, Peart made the band complete. Their journey together is really something else to observe. Best band of all time in my opinion, the most creative and probably the most emulated... Some people "get them", and many don't. Those of us who "get it" are grateful of the awesome music Rush has provided!!!!

My friend Vince Melcher, turned me on to Rush a long time ago. It is one of the best and most important gifts I have ever received! Even though I haven't spoken to him in a lot of years, I can not hear a Rush song and not think of him and the great times we had together in Arizona, water skiing, building cars and all kinds of cool stuff! Thanks Vinny!

Truly one of their best ever, even a bit more mainstream than their usual sound at the time. Along with some of their most meaningful lyrics and their usual mastery of the music. Such a shame that it doesn't get more airplay, at least not in this market.

When I first heard this in '82, I was 17 and my thought was that these lyrics are extremely deep and insightful, and feared my lack of experience was causing me to get my world view from popular song lyrics. Don't feel that way anymore, just glad I got to understand the dynamic of relationships early, thanks to Neil Peart.

Memories, (another great song), back in 81, I was attending college, one day a week while doin my apprenticeship (electrician) and there I set eyes on the most beautiful girl I"d ever seen, at break time"s we"d all sit in the concourse girl/boy watching, and every now and then this pretty little thing would catch my eye looking at her and vice versa, but both of us too shy to approach each other. This song encapsulates that time back then, and when I got home I"d play it to death as I fantasised how I was goin to break the ice with her on my next week at college. It never happened and so its a little memory jewel that I treasure when I listen to this gem of a tune. Thankyou Rush for the education you guys have passed on to us fans.

Permanent Waves was the first Rush album i bought, i was 13 at the time, after i heard this song i then played it about...say 12 times in a row, my mother came into the room and asked why i was playing it so much, i didn't have an answer, something with this song connected with me that i couldn't explain at the time. She didn't understand because it wasn't what Tom Jones or Elvis could deliver. HOF doesn't deserve Rush
