    Anytime my brother 💪. I am glad you enjoyed the videos and helped you make your choice 🙏. Which are you going with? Also there is a rotary coming out from DIY Detail being released in March! That’s 3 months of you would like to wait until then with the ideal 600rpm and high rpm for drying out the pad

    @@reginaldpeterson6190 pros and cons for both. Rupes does not dry out the pad well enough like the Flex corded. But I like the option of doing 450rpm on the rupes for softer paints. But overall I’ll go with Flex. The Rupes is not bad don’t get me wrong for my preference the Flex is much more suited for me.

    @@reginaldpeterson6190 of course like I said for very soft paints the rupes 450 is my go to. It’s like have 2 different channel locks a V jaw or Open mouth channel lock. You can use either 90% of the time just for which applications and may depend which is chosen 👍

    Yeah!! The maxshine price is great. You can finish with 800 rpms! Just quicker movements. To me the maxshine is a balance of rupes and flex. If they can have the same speed “for me” 600 maybe 450 rpm like the rupes it will be like the greatest rotary of all time. It’s light too!

    So do you like that rupes rotary with that lower rpm better than any other rotary you have used before? Im gonna be getting a rotary soon never tried one, I picked up the rupes 5 in mark 3 15mm recently. I also grabbed the Griots 13mm g13 3in that can go down to 2in aswell.

    Hey John yes I do enjoy the rupes rotary. I've been on a rotary thing lately. The Flex I enjoy a lot as better the corded. Those 2 are my favorite the rupes and flex corded since it has low RPM. Did you end up getting on eventually?

    I'm glad you liked the Rupes so far. You will see that several hours of polishing a day with less weight will make a difference in the fatigue of the arms. One question, what brand of backing plate did you use? It looks flexible.

    Yes for now I like the ergonomics and balance of the Flex when in use. But the rupes is lighter and less rpms! 🥲. As for the backing plate it’s the lake country 6inch rotary plate. They have them in yellow in some places but most sell them in black now. Which to me it’s better maches with all machines!

    Rupes corded rotary is 4.85 lbs, corded Flex is 5.0 lbs. The Flex has a higher max speed to spin out the water from the pad. I think Flex PE 14-2 would win!

    Hey Jim. I have not changed the grease yet in my rotary. I will be swapping it out with red and tacky grease from harbor freight. They say that works great. I used to use Mobil High temp grease on my machines which work great. I will give the red and tacky hi temp grease. Yvan uses that and used one of his polishers that had it. Pretty smooth

    Rupes on speed 1 do you find it getting hot? DIY detail has a rotary out that supposed to run cool because of the gearing…regards, Tony

  • @DetailingMadeSimple

    @DetailingMadeSimple

    Hey Tony. No it does not get hot on speed one. The thing that Rupes lacks is having the ability to dry out the pad as its highest speed is only 1900 rpm. Yes DIY has a rotary out which I purchased mines 2 weeks ago same with their DA and will be here tomorrow. I will play around with it as to be fair I always preferred the flex corded rotary as I like the 600rpm and the 2200 rpm to dry the pads when using a pad washer but it’s a $450 dollar machine. DIY rotary based on specs sounds and also is slightly better than the flex corded rotary at almost half the price. I suggest 2 options. Wait for my review on the rotary from diy or get the DIY as based on specs it’s better and or cheaper than the either Rupes Rotary and Flex. You can also use my discount code DMS at DIY for 10% off and you’re still saving money. Hope this helps you out 👍

    @@tony8354586 yes I am too hoping for a cordless rotary. To be honest I enjoy the 600 rpm the most which is speed 1. 450 is a bit too slow imo. On the market all they had at 600 was the flex corded rotary and it was $450. For competition they had the dewalt which was 800rpm speed 1, flex cordless 800rpm, maxshine 800rpm, shine mate 800rpm speed 1. Which I don’t like at all. Only one close but low quality build and heavy was the chemical guys rotary which is 600 rpm but I don’t like the bulkiness and weight and high pitch noise. So we will see. It’s all preference. If Rupes makes a cordless rotary they need to have a high RPM to dry out the pads that 1800 or 1900 don’t cut it.
