We’ve seen it where once you’re in the bottom for a 3rd time, even if you do well in the lip sync and it might appear that you outshined the other queen, you might still get the chopped because it’s your 3rd time. A recent example is Kiki Co on CDR. So to make it passed a 3rd lip sync for your life, and even though some people thought that Plasma was…I can’t remember the word used… “spasmatic” I think, she did relatively well in the lip sync. Considering the version of the song, it was appropriate and she did well. And I think that’s why she was somewhat at peace with the outcome. But M went all out! And well, even if she had lots of assistance from Saphira in regards to the execution and construction of her outfit , it was still her concept and ideas. And it seems that she did sew it. But she needed technical assistance, and she was not apologetic about it. And she didn’t shy away from saying so when asked. Her idea was more fitted to the challenge than Plasma. But listening to some of the queens talk before the runway, in confessionals and Untucked, they made it sound like M called up designer or seamstress and told them this is what I want, and just order the garment! She’s able to use the sewing machine, which is more than some queens. She had an idea and concept: that was her doing. Of course, her design concept might have been limited by her technical abilities. But she’s able to push the fabric through the machine and do simple seams. And not knowing how to sew can me an hindrance, because even if you have out of this world concepts and ideas, if you’re unable to bring them to life, especially while on a competition show, so the ideas might be there, you might have s great fashion sense and styling skills, but you can’t realize what you envision, so you end up having keep it simple to match your skills. And then you have those who have great technical skills, thinking for example about Melinda Verga on CDR4. She went to fashion school. She’s shown she can sew and tailor stuff. But her fashion sense and aesthetic? Nope. MIA. Now outside of a drag race setting, the one who can’t sew or has very little skills will most likely fare better. Cause you can always pay someone to bring your vision to life. Jiggly Caliente talks about that all the time! Or I’m thinking of June Jambalaya who I think was working as a stylist but totally failed at a design challenge cause she can’t sew. But beyond DR, she doesn’t need to put the garment through the machine yourself.

I really wonder if people would say the same thing if Mhiya eliminated Nymphia like that tho xD Because even tho it is a lipsync for your life .... That also means that Mhiya can literally keep being bad at everything every week and just never be eliminated until the finals where she'll have no chances to win anyway .... which is honnestly completely fucked uup and i don't understand why people would want to see that

Like Girls have lipsynced the house down boots, and have done that and still gone home. Why so many people keep ignoring this, is a problem. It’s either ok for Queens to do or it’s not. But it’s doesn’t make sense.

I agree to a degree, but iirc on a international season one of the queens were eliminated despite clearly winning the lipsync and the reasoning was that you shouldn't be able to make the top by lipsyncing your way there. There definitely comes a point where a queen just isn't doing well in the challenges at all and is skating by because of lipsyncs. I think Mhi'ya is fine here though cause she at least has a Win and was in the top in a challenge, so she has proven she can perform in a challenge.

If Plasma's track record can't save her why tf did they sent Amanda home over Q

Going to just be honest I’m a die-hard Nymphiarina for life but I feel like I’m the only one who’s gonna admit that Q rightfully won this challenge? The scale, the lining, the construction, the bow, it all just seemed impeccable to me. Yes what Nymphia served was unique and stunning, but she couldn’t really walk correctly in it? We’ve never seen much like that before, but if you’re gonna take a risk it has to be executed perfectly. If Q wasn’t there Nymphia DEFINITELY would’ve snagged the win(d) But I just feel so tired of everyone (specifically Nymphia stans) dismissing Q’s win here 😭 Just say it’s cause y’all don’t like her, but don’t deny the talent

Personally Q’s look didn’t give me goth or neo-goth. It looked more like a club kid look, just in black and white. I also thought the patterns clashed too much, I didn’t like her exposed pantie, and IMO the proportions of the garment would’ve looked better with a wig rather than walking out bald. I appreciate Q’s talent, I just think Nymphia or even Dawn’s looks were more goth and were just as couture.

Girl. at this point I KNOW Ru hates the musical theatre queens! I get mad every time this happens, and it happens all the time. These super talented queens just never make it to the end and get eliminated far too soon. Also, a wig reveal into the most horrible beanie ever, she has no wins, she did not even make her gown, and the attitude this episode! She feels untouchable (and her looks a just so basic!). I am done. I know Plasma was never going to win the competition, but she should have stayed and Mhiya should have sashayed away. I am so mad hahaha

Track records aside, plasma had the worst look by a good margin and did worse in the lip sync. To quote Blanca del Rio, "There are no rules!"

after rewatching the runway multiple times i cant believe people think nymphia deserved to win over q.... like really? love the girl but nymphia was almost crossing the line of looking messy and even if it wasnt it was a big headpiece with a black lacey dress. q looked INSANE, that detail and craftsmanship is unbelievable

Many queens have pointed out before, Raja talked about it on FPR recently, and Luxx Noir London mentioned it on the PitStop this week, black on the runway is hard to wear. The lighting makes it difficult to see the details . So in order for an outfit to show well you need to have different textured elements, and ensure that the design and fit feature a well-defined shape as otherwise it could all blend in and look boxy. You have to ensure to have different textures, and it’s hard to see the details. Never mind looking at it on TV. Even the roses on Q’s outfit, some people mistook them for polka dots. But in terms of category, Nymphia’s outfit “met” the neo-goth brief. And even though it was hard for us to see the details, apparently it was well-made and executed.

Im just saying, yall were asking for a front runner to be sent home early for the sake of fairness in a lip sync when it was Q vs Amanda lol

Mhiya destroyed the lip sync, but I feel that this is an instance where the lip sync for your life format doesn’t always work; where a queen who’s been doing poorly but can lip sync well stays, and a queen who’s been doing relatively way better doesn’t. Silver Lining: We got to see that lip sync 😁

You look beautiful today! As with the episode... idk. I'm very disappointed. Plasma has been a major confessional queen throughout the whole season and just seeing her go like that made me frustrated. They've edited lip syncs before where they just send home the person with the worst track record even if they won the lip sync. I think that should've happened this week. Mhi'ya also took off her wig. Which I didn't care for. I feel bad for Plasma because I actually liked her look. I just didn't like how deep the shirt went. She should've stayed because she didn't do that bad in the lip sync. But otherwise, excited for next week!

I think she’s a talented queen but she doesn’t have the big personality that most of the previous winners have.

Not that Mhi'ya has a chance in hell to win the crown (LOL!), but letting her stay another week is highly questionable.

There’s only one demographic upset over Mh’iya’s very well deserved LIPSYNC win. Telling but not surprising at all.

Imo Nymphia should've won. Q's dress was AMAZING but it read more club kid than goth. It needed more harsh black accents to fully pull off goth like Nymphia's outfit did.
