I have 2 uvs too. It gives you options and a bit of protection if one goes down. I've had all uv off for a while now and lowered all pumps more than usual to test any changes from last year and so far all parameters are the same. Any fuel saving are good for the environment and my pocket 👍

Yes most definitely, at least one should still be running should something fail on the other one. I have slightly reduced the air but redirected it to the moving bed but I wont change the pump. I tried to and I immediately noticed some poop in one corner. I put the pump back to normal power and no poop anymore.

Oh man... Quit teasing that you can still feed.. It was -21 yesterday morning.. That goromo that you are keeping for me over the winter looks amazing. I dont use UVs but can definitely see the advantage in using them in a raised pond with a high fish load.. Did I mention I love that Goromo. yes, I have done a test (even if I was worried to do it) and you can change the bulb without stopping the pump. Yeah carp pox can appear when you go to 16 or below. Some koi never lose it even at higher temp suring the summer, which I think is what will happen to my Tancho Showa. She has two areas with carp pox on her tail, one I think will go but one probably wont as it's so thick and so embeded in her tail. It's viral but not contegious.
