Very good guide for those wanting to get into melee. Good luck if you want to make a more advanced guide, between all the switches and explaining vestments etc. it would be quite the task.

use touch of death and soul sap whenever you can, volley of souls at 3/5 stacks, finger when you have 6 or more necrosis, keep bloat active at all times. with zuk cape, use skulls at 100%, build up to 100 again then living death + apot, touch of death, build up to 60, use skulls again, then get it off once more before living death ends

I personally get more use out of mws, it’s such a great buff to have your bleeds extended, also great with jaws of the abyss. longer bleeds = more adren. Zgs is great but I often forget to use spec, or don’t use it properly, but i guess thats also a skill diff

The spear will provide a greater increase in dps as long as you use it for all bleeds.

i admire the effort, i feel necro is just too strong to not use pretty much everywhere in game tho, especially if 120 etc, but i am sure this guide will be very helpful to some.

My only thing is, i just bought greater barge and flurry and when i use gbarge on the dummy but when i use assault after the 2 basic attacks it usnt instant, only after i walk away for a bit does it actually work

This is great and all, but what do I do if I don’t have the 2b in gear and abilities used in the example rotation? IDK what I’m doing and my DPS is really low because I constantly run out of adrenaline, even with adrenaline pots and jaws. I don’t have limitless to help, nor do I have zgs for the bleed stuff. Does this just mean my DPS is gonna be trash until I can make a few billion gp???

The only sources of adrenaline (other than jaws/apots) are an impatient 4 perk, ring of vigor passive from the extinction quest, fury of the small relic and conservation of energy relic. They are all free/very cheap, so you don't need 2b for good adren. Also you don't use zgs for bleeds, but a mw spear ; )

pvm perk on wiki says aftershock 4 for zgs, but what if i only use it for spec swap is aftershock 1 fine to not lose aftershock 4 effect on main hand melee weapons?

i mean with magic fsoa spec, then back to duel wield should aftershock 1 be fine for fsoa? wiki also says aftershock 4

If you only swap to a weapon for one ability, it's fine with just an aftershock 1 since the odds of it to proc on that hit are low, though aftershock 4 would still be better.

The nox scythe is good for slayer/elite dungeon trash mobs, but gets heavily outdpsed by cheaper alternatives vs bosses like the scourge or lengs.

are the t92 khopesh not worth getting

They are not since they lack any passive effect or spec.

Would have liked to see more Vestments of Havoc, as it has a lot more benefits compared to masterwork/trimmed and it is also re-sellable. Otherwise a decent entry guide

The statius spec is only used at high defense bosses like rago, aod and raids so we did not think that it belonged in an intro guide. Its rarely the melee player that uses the spec as well since ingenuity of the humans was released.

intro to melee is pretty easy imo, just do necro quests and unlock t90 power necro armour and use it, also use necro abilities instead of melee ones, then you're set

Ahahahaha. As a melee main, I can confirm this. I did not sell anything, but I pretty much ditched melee entirely. I used to run with a full bleed setup campíng spear most of time that I called "lazy melee", which was less switchy and just marginally less effective. I own eveything minus vestments of havoc, lengs (because I avoided switching) and terrasaur maul. EZK EoF is a beast with spear and switching for scourge and defender for every havoc (when I was keen to do it/remember it).
